This siren has been acting strangely over the past few weeks. For some reason it started to hang up and run in wail or air horn and refuses to cancel out or do the post test announcement. The echo when it dies is epic.

The 2900 series has smaller screens and and a slightly different internal design compared to the 2800 series. The drivers can be accessed by the EZ-Pull panels on the siren array instead of having to pull the whole thing apart, and the tube inside the cell that connects to the mouth of the driver has a bend in it to increase the voice clarity.
That's nonsense. Mechanical sirens are far more temperamental by design. The fact is that many counties assume electronic sirens don't require maintenance when they purchase them. With proper maintenance, they last just as long as any mechanical siren.
