YOU ARE TELLING ME THIS HAS BEEN ON RU-vid FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS?? girl I really thought this was specifically made for Black Widow. It gave me chills during the opening credits. I love it!!!
I really can see how marvel was inspired by this song and the video itself, the editing in this video is really similar to the black widow opening credits.
This is one of the best covers I've seen so far. You're not trying to imitate Kurt. You've completely put your own spin on it, which makes it a good cover.
well considering Kurt Cobain always put meaning in his songs and that he ended up taking his own life, i dont think its that hard to make it emotional.
For everyone saying "it's not meant to be sung this way, Kurt wouldn't like this, Cobain never meant for this song to sound this way" y'all need to get some fucking perspective. First of all, you're not Kurt Cobain so you haven't the slightest clue what he would've wanted. But if he was the talented musician he is always made out to be, he may actually appreciate a musical transformation. Second of all, the whole point of a cover is to change the sound. To change the emotions it creates within a person. I love the original. It was energetic with meaning. But this cover, it changes the entire tune an mood of the song. Which creates an entirely new message and gives me a haunting, but powerful emotion and message. Stop whining about "Kurt's wishes." He's dead and none of you knew him personally, nor are you psychic. Bravo to the great work on this cover. It's amazing.
...except it set a different tone than the movie they gave us. It is a great intro, but doesn't match with the tone of the movie overall. I still enjoyed the movie, but it has a consistence issue.
@@AnAbortiveRomance agreed. Honestly this is one of those times whereby it would’ve been so much better if Marvel decided to not make the movie in such a way that it would be categorised as PG13. Im not saying I want to see violence, just specific nuances which portray what the widows went through and why it was so important that Yelena and Natasha brought a halt to the red room
"I'm worse at what I do best And for this gift I feel blessed Our little group has always been And always will until the end" Disturbingly perfect for Natasha wanting to bring down the Red Room and end the Black Widow program. The pain of wanting to end evil just rings out here
I'm glad the Black Widow movie turned me on to this. The biggest compliment I can give for how good this is, is the fact it helped get me into the mood for a sad scene I was writing. Usually it takes a few songs to do that, but this put me right in the zone. It just hits so hard with the different layers of tones from the drums, piano, and whatever is making that creeping horror movie-esque almost siren noise. When you add in the way your vocals convey the raw emotions of it, it all just comes together in this package with the visuals to create an experience that just makes me want to curl up in a ball of sadness. And I mean that in the best way possible. Being on the autism spectrum, music has always been one of the few things that helps me feel things deeply. It's one of the ways I learned to process emotions better. This is one of the best songs I've come across that draws emotion out of me.
Why did someone copy your comment in another language ? Read down the line of comments and u will see what I'm talking about when u see the comment in Spanish I believe...tap on translate and u will see that person copied everything u said about being on the autism spectrum, etc etc which I mean if you are translating, that's one thing but to say all of that in there...it just threw me off n put a weird taste in my mouth. Not YOUR comment but the person copying u. Just weird.
One more thing to add...where u said it always makes u want to curl into a ball of sadness...they said it always makes me want to look forward...I'm like ok u don't mind copying the autistic part but u have an issue with sadness...why even copy the comment at all? And then put it in Spanish nonetheless
Same! Makes me sad how much awesome music is out there and just not given air time. I haven't seen black widow but apparently that's the only reason it's on the radio now.
As a huge Nirvana fan, I have to say I love this cover. It puts a different spin on the song while still maintaining its haunting quality. Malia has a beautiful voice.
I'm kind of a snob when it comes to covers. Especially when it's a cover of one of my favorite bands' songs. That being said, I absolutely love this cover. The way the lyrics are delivered is so haunting and beautiful. The somber tone is prefect. I would totally recommend this song to anyone.
I've had this video saved on my likes since "The Gallows". I freaked when I heard it play in "Black Widow". Congratulations! Glad the person picking the songs for the movie has great taste. I guess you never know who's listening...
This cover is fantastic! I've been a Nirvana fan for forever. This is so different than Cobain's version that it doesn't really feel like the same song to me, like it gives me completely different emotions to hear it, but I think that makes it even more astonishing because I love the original, and I like this one just as much. To change it so much and make it that good in my opinion took just as much talent as it took to write it to begin with
This song with Natasha and Yelena's backstory made an otherwise loud theater experience very still. Everyone felt it. Quite an experience I wish I could relive again.
I came here from the 'The Man in the High Castle' trailer, and all I can say is wow, goddamn you're good. Thank you for sharing your gift with us and do please keep up the fantastic work.
+Winston Webb I just realized this is both in the trailer for The Gallows and The Man in the High Castle. When watching the trailer for The Gallows I was like 'hmm. this trailer song sounds familiar...
+Malia J. I'm in the production of a Brazilian independent project that mixes suspense, horror, music, theater, philosophy and much poetry in a single feature film with a very somber tone, the design is spectacular. I'm looking for professionals who want to partner with us, to give support to our project and you and your musical creations are truly sensational. I come to ask how we can talk more about the project and perhaps provide support to us, please.
yeehaw thru It’s doesn’t even sound anything like Nirvana though. It’s like a completely different song (not saying it’s bad, I actually really like it).
Load up on guns, and bring your friends It's fun to lose and to pretend She's over-bored and self-assured Oh no, I know a dirty word Hello, hello, hello, how low Hello, hello, hello With the lights out, it's less dangerous Here we are now, entertain us I feel stupid, and contagious Here we are now, entertain us I'm worse at what I do best And for this gift I feel blessed Our little group has always been And always will until the end Hello, hello, hello, how low Hello, hello, hello With the lights out, it's less dangerous Here we are now, entertain us I feel stupid, and contagious Here we are now, entertain us A mulatto, an albino, a mosquito, my libido And I forget just why I taste Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile I found it hard, it's hard to find Oh well, whatever, never mind Hello, hello, hello, how low Hello, hello, hello With the lights out, it's less dangerous Here we are now, entertain us I feel stupid, and contagious Here we are now, entertain us A denial, a denial, a denial, a denial A denial, a denial, a denial, a denial ------------------------------------------------------- I hope people appreciate the lyrics written out as sung and not copied from google or a lyrics website Enjoy 🙏🏻
@@nevermind4712 You are kidding, right? This is the only lyrics posted to the comments that actually match the song as sung by Malia J. Not the lazy copy and paste job from Nirvana's version of the song lyrics.
that projector would of annoyed me a lot if i was standing there best cover of a nirvana song I've ever heard! you're not trying to copy Cobain and you put your own unique spin on it.
The only non shit cover of this song I've found so far. Even though it's not in The traditional grunge performance, it had enough power and emotion behind the vocals to make up for it
Marianna Smith He wasn't saying Nirvana was Emo. But some do consider this cover a Emo version of a grunge song. It takes away the loathing and grit leaving it haunting, it's the best cover of this song I've ever heard.
It's actually crazy how such underrated and talented artists can have their lives completely changed because of a cover of a song they made 6 years ago. Never think it couldn't happen to you, with enough practice and dedication you can get yourself out there. Express yourself, tell people that you exist and be ambitious. All it takes is a little courage, a little confident and a little thought that became a collosal dream.
Seriously 6 years ago where the hell have I been!? Well thanks to Black Widow brought me here 🖤 the movie it was a tear jerker in the opening. I think Kurt Cobain would be proud.
I love the powerful emotion this beautiful women shows, it really depics a whole different meaning to the original. It's also quite a difficult song and track to cover! I love it!
Fabian Gutierrez I know right! I just literally read the comments from the gallows trailer and I was kind of shocked by what I read. The girl had the right to be creative with music and they don't see that. And I literally made a statement to a comment that the girl had the right to be creative and that it would be boring if everyone sing the song almost the exact same way (it was a long rant). In this world not many people are perspective (open-minded) about it.
4-5 years ago, I did not know about the Original song. I could not believe this was just the cover. Unfortunately I'm shaking my head insanely while listening to Kurt's version, but this one is still awesome.
To me the words are the most powerful part of the song, and it always seemed really grating to me to hear pop and performance artists singing them. Can you really believe that such people really think that “with the lights out it’s less dangerous”? The spotlight is what they live off. Anyway, this does a good job
one of the best remakes of any song I have ever heard remade!! She captures the true mean behind the lyrics. she is a true artist and this is one of my all time favorite songs. So that is sincerely saying a lot coming from me!!! R.I.P. Kurt Cobain you will forever remain a legend!!! Great Job Malia!!!!
Thanks Marvel for leading me to this beautiful song. First Demons (Loki ep. 3) and now this... I'm in love with these songs and with Marvel & MCU 🥺🥺❤️😭😭
Interesting to read the comments stating it's wrong to cover Nirvana songs. Especially since one of Nirvana's most popular songs is a cover of David Bowie's, "The Man Who Sold the World."
gives me goosebumps, thinking of kurts presence still here, with us all, living through the next generation of singers keeping his music alive burning loud and proud in diff formats and diff vocals.makes me good, alive, respected for kurt.
robby robber Dude......*MIND BLOWN*. I'm showing this song to my best friend. Cause when i fist heard this song, it brought flashbacks of us. And im hoping it will do the same for her. I'm literally begging her not to transfer school's :'(
I honestly kind of yelled when I heard this song in the movie and everyone looked at me strangely. (don't worry we watched it at home.) Hearing this song in the opening credits made the movie for me because I honestly didn't like it much. But this is one of my favorite cover songs ever. Also correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this song copyrighted to where it wasn't allowed anywhere not on RU-vid until Black Widow came out?
