@@walkingminnesota Very funny, LOL. BTW bud, the Met Stadium once stood on the site of Mall of America currently stands and was the home of the Vikings and Twins. Plus, it hosted and witnessed numerous events, including the 1965 MLB All-Star Game, the 1965 World Series (against the Los Angeles Dodgers), Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach's Hail Mary pass during the 1975 NFC Divisional Playoff Game against the Vikings, numerous professional wrestling events of the Minnesota based pro wrestling promotion American Wrestling Association (AWA) of Verne Gagne (R.I.P.), the 1969 NFL Championship Game - the final NFL title game before the AFL-NFL merger - against the Cleveland Browns in early 1970 and of course, the final game against the Kansas City Chiefs in December of 1981 in which the fans put down the goal posts.

Fun fact: Mall of America stands on the site of where the legendary Metropolitan Stadium once stood. The Met Stadium is where the Twins (MLB) and Vikings (NFL) both played from their first season (1961) until 1981, when they moved to the Metrodome (1982-2013). Both teams are now playing at both Target Field and the U.S. Bank Stadium (via the University of Minnesota's Huntington (formerly TCF) Bank Stadium), respectively of course. The red seat where Harmon Killebrew (R.I.P.) hit his home run in '67 as well as the plate commemorating the stadium's existence is inside the mall. Plus, the pilot episode of WCW Monday Nitro was filmed there in '95, as well as Mary-Kate and Ashley's Mall Party in '97.

Very cool MOA facts. Thanks for sharing. Someone in the comments of the excelsior video was telling me they saw the Beatles at met stadium. So cool! I love that red seat up on the wall next to the log ride. Great reminder of what used to be. Thank you so much for sharing 🙏

Hi Graham, this was recorded around 2pm or so on a Tuesday. Likely one of the slowest times for the mall.

Yes, there are lockers for rent. I have never used them and I typically just carry my coat with me through the mall during winter

Typically evenings m-f and all day weekends. This was in the early afternoon on a weekday so it was slow in the mall

The look of the mall is a weird combination of upscale and bland. Gray and white and clinical looking with some sparkly lighting and fake trees. Looked better in the 90s.
