Super nice to relive the race with you and your positive attitude. I did my best to speak to people, to get them to look at the view, to enjoy the ride instead of just looking down o the front wheel, some did, most didn't. Would have loved to chat with you up the climbs to get some extra energy. Perhaps next year. 😃 Thanks! inspired do this again and fight for a ticket for 2025. Hope to see you there!

Ellie seems such a decent person, and willing to have a go at anything! One thing not mentioned in this, or any other RU-vid video of long distance cycling, that I saw for the first time when I did 100 mile cycle on closed roads near Brum was that you often pass long lines of men pee-ing at the side of the road. I don't think it matters, particularly, but it was a surprise - plus most of them had bib shorts or similar which creates further issues for whacking your tackle out ...

Superb effort Amy and not forgetting Ellie and the rest of the team, I'm very new to cycling but spent a week in Porta de Pollenca last Sept, the lady who's apartment I stayed in (who is also a mega triathlete) did the ride coming 5th in the ladies "race", you weren't miles behind her Amy. I think you are right - Amy does have all the skills, and could be great on descents, but is just a little anxious. Personally, I like to pretend I'm Lewis Hamilton in an F1 car, so the line I take matters most! Start out wide and cut to the inside before going wide on the exit. Use your handlebar drops - great for speed, break control, centre of gravity ... If it is looking a little iffy ahead, then sitting up a little helps - air breaking, in effect! But more important than anything, imo, is getting the line right - being Lewis Hamilton.

Well done. The daft start is to make sure you get a good start time to help meet the cut off. Personally I think the cut off should be phased because you can easily lose 45 mins if you get a late start which limits you to the 167. Anyway, that was a cracking effort and brought back some happy memories doing it with my wife and daughter. Doing it solo for most of it is hard - respect. Fair play to the chap giving you his wheel.

Just watched a video of another Chap who averaged 17.5mph and was sat in quite a few groups avoiding the wind. If you sat in, in groups then I reckon you'd be quite a bit quicker. This Guy was lean and mean so your speed is quite amazing considering you were sat in the wind quite a bit. This lean and mean Chap was totally blown too so you done quite a ride. You done it right and didn't seem to blow your legs off. Well done, very impressive. :)
