Ok let me say this is maybe the one video on your channel thats left me a little frustrated, it feels very weighted, almost sponsored, you're usually in the middle with for and against etc. The questions to the Mayor was all way to easy but im sure if it was at short notice then maybe thats why. He mentions he wants to stay open all year around or really extend the season but to do this hes got to get everyone else to stay open, which in the past has been a real struggle hes also trying to sell Magaluf now on Football, Tennis and scuba diving... Im not sure many people go on holiday to do that and even more Magaluf. I can't believe hes sat in his office thinking i know what the British want to do on holiday, they want to go table tennis and play football in the 35c heat.. yes that's what they want to do? Lets start with some questions like; - Why are venues all around the resort losing music licenses while others are allowed to keep them which are right next door and louder during the day and night. Is this a punishment for not 'falling in line' like they want? - Why are certain hotels which was in the red zone now allowed to serve a full AI menu when some in the red zone which are also 4* and family orientated not allowed? - Why will he not tackle the clear problem with the prostitutes who are actually there to mug people walking back to the hotel and the drug pushers who are all over the resort at night? This is even worse when they stand less than 20 feet away from the station near Stereo. - Can he be clear into where the tourist tax goes, and give clarity to what its paying for? - Why in the 'off season' are there police all over the place, standing around on guard like its all about to kick off, yet in peak season they're never to be seen, the odd drive past and thats all. They are some pretty pressing questions on which im sure will be met with the usual bluster or just washed over. *Just for clarity, im not someone who gets off their head nor do i condone that around the resort BUT the ability to have a 'good time' listen to music at louder than talking volume and enjoy a few cold drinks while having a laugh and enjoying the daytime sunshine, is all but banned. Why should that be? - If he put more police on the strip when the season is in full swing, people would behave. There would be that presence of law on the strip and people would be more likely to behave (for those small minority that feel they dont want to)

So interesting to listen and learn what is happening and what's to come in the area. Really good to have this insight. Thanks Alex ☺️

Great interview this just solidates, that yes we are welcome and the ones who love and respect the island can still enjoy the island as myself and family have been coming since my children were small.

Nice to hear from the mayor, being so positive. Let's hope the extended season works,that's a win win for locals and tourists, but businesses need to be open ,no point in arriving to a ghost town.....Great video.

Can you ask the mayor about getting rid of the muggers I know they say they are prostitutes as prostitution is not against the law in Majorca but we all know they are muggers. I have been going to Magaluf for 23 years twice a year and we did not see them when I first went.

Great vlog Alex,we haven't to Magaluf in 14 years but so looking forward to coming back one year.

The mayor can start by improving the pavements, in Palma Nova some of them are a joke.Also, in Tenerife the beach sun beds are collected into a tower of six each night, disinfected , and not unlocked again till next morning. When you see the state of some of the Calvia beach sun beds, it’s a wonder they are not walking about themselves with the number of bugs that must be on them.

Put it simply by saying BEHAVE.

Difficult to envisage the new law making any difference as the majority of tourists will be ignorant of it and will carry on as normal in any case. Unless there are strong enforcement and penalties which are publicised then it's just another token exercise.

What an excellent interview, the Mayor certainly acknowledges the importance of tourism. There is no room for anti-social behaviour, it is perfectly possible to have fun & be respectful.
