Oh my gosh Richard, I cannot believe that you, the writer of this song Suavecito have commented on this video. Is this real that I am sending you this message??? First of all, this is the most beautiful song I have ever heard in my 58 years living. I only hear it on oldies radio stations and have cracked a speaker in my car listening and reminiscing to this song. I will forever cherish memories of my pops and mom when I am listening and jamming to this song. (Lost them both, 9 months apart which was 8 years ago). I have listened to the song at least 900 times and absolutely LOVE IT. Even as a child in the 70s I remember this on the radio. This song brings joy and peace to my heart and soul. You cannot help but Sway and bounce in your chair as you're listening to this. Is this a pipe dream that I am actually responding to the writer of this song????? If you respond to this post, I will flip out lol😂. I wish I could have your autograph. Thank you for keeping the memories of my mom and pops alive in my heart forever and ever. 🥰❤️💞💗💖
Malo is a band that Carlos Santana's older brother Jorge Santana was a part of and of course, he is the guitar player, I just thought you would like to know. Great song that brings back a lot of memories. I see that you enjoyed it too. And I hope you feel better soon.
@@michaelasay8587 So many great rock bands and performers in the 70s. It's hard to pick out a favorite. Linda Ronstadt was probably my favorite female performer.
Hey Angela, Malo (means "Badd" in Spanish) and "Suavecito" (means "Smoothly" or "Nice & Easy") just like the Smooth Latin Jazz laid down on this "Masterpiece" track...I saw you jammin' & getting your Latin Groove on!!! Well done & thank you for this reaction too!!!
The group Malo, was founded by Carlos Santana's younger brother, Jorge Santana. Jorge also was the lead guitarist of the group as well. Suavecito was their one and only Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1972. The song peaked at the #18 spot. This song is a definitely banger indeed!!!
I remember hearing this beautiful song on the school bus when I was a little kid. I never knew who did it and couldn’t find it until now, so thank you for making my day. It’s like I got a little slice of my childhood back. Love when the horn comes in!
This song is a staple in Chicano households. My parents will be celebrating their 60th anniversary soon, and I guarantee you there will be 5 generations of my family grooving to "Suavecito"!..try "Nena"if you enjoyed that Latin percussion! 🔥 ❤👍🏼✊🏼✌🏽
Back in the early 70s this song was one of the "San Francisco Grove Movement" a main Latino Rock Genre founded by Jorge and Carlos Santana and others artist with Hispanic background. Very popular in the West Coust of USA. OAmong other great bands were SAPO, CHICANO, and, of course MALO.
I love Suavecito the song man oh man that band Malo Sure can jam and put you into a certain way I have to say Malo - 3 other songs 1)Nena 2)Pana 3)Cafe While your doing that. whenever you get a chance SANTANA 1) GITANO 2) TABOO 3) DANCE SISTER DANCE thank you for your input to your reactions channel I do enjoy watching & listening to your work it's excellent 👍
Wow, I had this 45rpm record when I was a kid. Actually, I still have it. Looking back, my musical tastes as a kid were quite varied though I only listened to top 40 radio and only bought 45s until I got into High School. This song still sounds really good to me.
This is Carlos Santana’s brother (Jorge Santana) band “Malo”. On “American Bandstand” Dick Clark introduced them as “In Spanish Malo means Bad, but in Music, Malo means Good!” Check out their “Everlasting Love”, “Nena”, “Café “…..SanJoséBob
Thanks for reacting to this amazing song as many chicano greats have been overlooked ,Thee Midniters is a great band as well,it’ll never be over for me and dreaming casually are two great ones
Translated it means soft and smooth. If you ever had a true love that touched your heart and made you feel like floating on a cloud, this is the song. Just a wonderful laid back song engulfed in the light of love. REALLY TAKES ME BACK!
I haven't heard this song in ages. It was constantly on the radio the year I graduated from high school. If it still sounds good after half a century, it's a certified classic.
Walking the Mission district of San Francisco back in the day you could hear this song everywhere. In the 1960’s I remember seeing and hearing the early days of Latin Rock at Aquatic Park.
Gosh, I remember this song, it’s beautiful and Bless you and I hope time gets better for you and you always remember the good times with your Mother! This song is definitely a jam
One of the first albums I ever bought. Have seen them quite a few times. Richard Bean the writer of the song and lead vocalist wrote the lyrics for a girl he liked when he was 15. My ex is Mexican American and this along with Together by Tierra would be played at every wedding reception or party when there was a DJ
Bless you in this one. This was one of my dad's favorite songs too. He passed away 4 years ago. He was a total Chicano who loved low riders. Té quiero, papi y no te olvidare.
This is one of those songs that sticks with you for decades. Suavecito! If you like this, check out some El Chicano. Their hits are from the same early 70s too.
I always thought this song was too corny! It is OK, but my condolences to this viewer! There is a song for everyone, and music brings everyone together! I know I'm being sarcastic, but they should organize an End Of The World concert so we could all exit this existence on a positive note! Who knows, maybe they will!
Great song. I truly wish you would react to "I Believe You" by the Carpenters......or at least let me know whether you have heard it before and won't....lol...I don't want to keep asking if you aren't going to...lol...and make a nuisance of myself. Either way....keep up the good work. I love your insight on these songs! You are one of the few channels I subscribe to!
MEXICAN Wedding music. If U ever get invited to a Mexican Wedding, U MUST attend @all cost. U won't regret it, & with a lil weEd, drinking, & dancing with your girl/date to this type of music is the absolute BOMB!
