I feel like Malta is a civ that need time to get the engines going so because there is a LOT of rush strategies and timing pushed in low to mid elo it makes malta a "bad" civ to these players that because are in this elo range still don´t know how to (or just can´t) react to said strategies. From mid elo to the 1800~2000 elo tempo is essencial for the game, the shipment curve, powerspike and how fast can you get your civ going (and for how long) and again malta is slower then the most predominant civs in this elo range. Now because people that are above 2k elo know how to react against rushes, timmings, can perform better at marco & micro, at understanding theirs and the opponents tempo plays, as well as beeing greedier in playstyle, malta has better chances to "shine" or at least strat to play to its designed advantages and bonuses. OR I could just be spiting BS since I'm just a random low elo fodder, who knows less then jack sh*t about the game.
Honestly, imagine being able to get with ffing most games to be rank 1 on ladder and complaining that malta is op when julian barely even benefitted from any particular Malta bonuses. The only truly relavant thing is the wignacourt and the slightly higher res start compared to other civs
@@zachariastsampasidis8880 yeah julian didn't use that many malta specific things. Iirc the big ones were Wignacourt and some archaic infantry stat cards, but no depots, commandery spam, fixed guns. And the hp buff from sending cards, but honestly in this game revnak got too greedy and julian just kept sending units
That "dumb civ lol" caught me off guard. How can you say this when almost literally all of your matches are doing the free win strat lmao. Praise for JulianK who actually plays all the civs and dominates with all
@@everythingexpert4795Losing the second set for free after losing the first one was unforgivable and probably sealed the game. I think if he was more careful about their placement and got them up he still had a decent chance.
Malta is a bit underrated, mainly because tempo seems so hard to structure. But it has a great growth capacity great cards. Pike+Cross+culverins, after 3 dedicated cards and 10-15 minutes of game are unbeatable.
I dont have only usa bought but like wtf. 12 GUARD uhlans+ability to make them in forts kinda crazy for only cost of 1000 res in age 3. Thats makes me feel sick for shitty ethiopians military shipments in age 3. I already gave up on constant thinking about how strong other features usa has like those 2 blockhouses or imbalanced outlaws and etc but it seems these games make me remind me that with something new. Also tired of playing myself in highranked team matches with like 40-50% of catching usa or lakota against. Wont play usa on principle.
