A lovely visit to Popeye Village, also known as Sweethaven Village, is a film set that was built for the 1980 film Popeye, starring Robin Williams.😎
It gave me time to think🤔 about what I loved about one of my childhood heroes. Popeye didn't follow the crowds and as such, certainly stood out. "If I'm not me, who am I. And If I'm somebody else, why do I look like me?" - Popeye the Sailor Man.
He would protect loved ones like, Olive Oyl💃 even when he didn't feel strong enough but he would keep getting back up.
As a little boy, I would believe eating spinach would make me stronger. I didn't like the taste of it🤢 but I would eat it thinking in my child's mind, it would turn me into a stronger version of myself.💪
As an adult, I now know the importance of our diet and what we put in our bodies whether that's eating/drinking or our thoughts, effects not only our bodies but our minds too.🤯
I am still not perfect with this but I implement good habits on a daily basis to make sure I reach my target of all round good health. I now try to fuel my body and mind with good nourishment that will help me become a better version of myself. Hiking is such a great way to connect with myself and local surroundings, and I'm so grateful to have it as a passion.
I finished this hike at Ghadira Beach. Really nice, tranquil place where I'm sure it would be lovely to spend a whole day there too.
This hike wasn't really tough as it was across the most narrowest strip of land in the north of Malta so it wasn't a big deal. As usual I filmed some of the journey which you can catch on the video link below. Thanks for the support!
