We are staying in Valletta week for 5 days. Your vlog has been really interesting especially the advice on the Gozo boat excursion! Its actually 1 of the most helpful youtube vlogs ive watched.
I just came back from Malta, it was lovely to watch you video. I had two nights in Valletta and three in Mellieha. The weather was perfect - unlike cold and grey UK!! 😍
Enjoyed the vlog,so many great memories of out trip there about 35 years ago.Was definitely a lot quieter then, not as many visitors.I remember the old buses. people used to say cars aren’t driven on the left or right but in the shade..
😅 Yes, the is a saying that the Maltese drive 'in the shade'. I'm Maltese=Australian, I need to visit Malta again, haven't been for a while! I'm glad you enjoyed Malta.
Thanks for your very enjoyable and informative vlog.......learned so much. Coming to Malta for the first time in May, so you have really whetted my appetite.
Great video! Spending a week in Rabat at our tour guides Airbnb in October 2024. Can't wait. We've been there 2x on cruise ship stops, so a whole week will be magical!
I apologise but the rugby and cricket world cups have taken my attention away from RU-vid but I’m catching up now. It’s amazing that Malta was under siege from the Axis Forces of Italy & Germany for two and a half years during the Second World War. Such a proud nation. This was a fascinating hour watch. Such a lovely place full of history. Especially the church with the Caravaggio paintings. I loved Simon (sorry squirrel - ha,ha) adding interesting tour guide information throughout the video. The canon firing was amazing and I jumped with you. The Blue Lagoon equally so, especially squirrel’s (ha,ha) Go-Pro footage. Your also experimented a little with the local food on this trip and you certainly got your steps in to burn of all that cheese. Your hotel looked lovely and with a pool with a view. I can see why my middle brother loved the place so much when he honeymooned there 40 years ago. A very enjoyable.
I`m glad that you and Sqwil (😃) had such a lovely trip, you saw so much in a short time. That cathedral was stunning; it always blows my mind how talented these artists were. The hotel was lovely, and even though you did so much it seemed as if you could just chill and relax too, which is great.
Loved seeing Malta! I am not sure I will ever make it there so I loved seeing it through Sqwill and your eyes. Thanks for telling us about the walking tours. In all cities you have used them they seem incredibly knowledgeable and really help you get to know the town. I am glad you had such a nice relaxing trip to Malta. Thank Sqwill for sharing about your trip and the foods he is willing to try. Rabbit - not sure I could do it. Side note - you will have to give us a tour of your Starbucks mugs since you have updated them over the years. Were you able to get a hard rock pin?
Aw thank you. Yes that's the thing I love most about them - you really get to know the place and I just love hearing all the history, culture and all the food recommendations. We have one booked for our next trip too! No I couldn't either haha poor rabbit. I should definitely do that with the mugs! Unfortunately there were no Malta pins!! such a shame but my brother is visiting in March so I'm hoping he can pick me up one!!
I went to Malta in September and absolutely loved it! I really enjoyed your video because it brought me back to being there. I can't wait to go back next year. I didn't get to Gozo this time so I definitely will next time. Such a shame you didn't get your Hard Rock pin; btw I'm also a Hard Rock collector but I collect shirts - it's nice to come across another collector of Hard Rock merch. Oh, Sliema is pronounced more like Slee-eh-ma rather than Slee-ma.
Ah thank you for correcting! I'm so so glad you enjoyed the video and brought back some happy memories! I'm hoping my brother will pick me up a Malta pin as he's going next year too! Have a fab time next year!
We stayed at this hotel in June 2018.we were in a room at the front with a balcony.malta is lovely and there used to be a cinnabon down the sea front.i dont recall a starbucks thou.really makes me want to return.
Malta definitely looked like a wonderful destination for some R&R. One of the great perks of living in Europe is the multitude of amazing "relatively close" destinations to go visit...very envious! Thanks again for sharing your trip with us Claire and Sqwil. hehehe PS. Claire, did you end up finding your Hard Rock Malta pin at the airport on your way home? I hope you did.
Aww it truly was!! Haha thank you so much for watching, that part cracked me up 😂 no unfortunately no pin deliveries but luckily my bro is heading there in March and said he’d pick me up a pin!
Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed coming along with me! Noooo I was so gutted! They hadn’t had a delivery to either Hard Rock! Luckily my bro is going to Malta in March so said he’d pick me up a pin!
Cracking video, I've been twice as a child but going with my husband at end of Jan, so not expecting great weather x Just want to know what camera set up you used for videoing? Thank you x
You need another week or two back to Malta , You did,nt see such more places in your short visit .Malta is very small but it;s full of history and you missed a lot such as Mosta Dome, Blue Grotto ,Popeye Village, Mellieha, and many more interesting places.
