Please read!
Mama cat and her four newborn kittens. Mom was being very protective so I couldn't film TOO much but I got a little bit. :)
They went to a foster home later this day, so she wasn't trapped in the little cage with them for too long!
Yes, the grey one is ok, just sleeping during the video!
As cute as this is, I want to remind you all that they will be 4 more cats that need to go to a home. Please spay/neuter your pets and ADOPT!

I believe one of the kittens in this video is dead. The light brown one in the right lower corner of the video under her front paws. It doesn't appear to be breathing or moving. Sometimes the newborn kittens are accidentally squashed and suffocated by the mother.

Wrong? Who are you responding to? "2 day old kittens" is how old the kitten are, not that there are only two of them.

I think the momma cat & her babies would have been better off without the intrusive, anxiety-provoking camera in her face, period. I couldn't watch it all the way through. Need to find better video material.

that's a pretty cat you have there, take good care of her. It's amazing to see a mother cat protecting and caring for her young ones. As if she loves her offspring. Yes I believe cats have feelings too, all I have to do is look into my cat's eyes when she looks at me and I know she loves me. She let's me know when she wants my attention and when she wants to be left alone. You just have to learn to understand your cat's language.

Shelters don't always euthanize. I worked at one and we took care of kittens. You can always call and let them know about the situation, sometimes they can give you any supplies you may need to take care of them in the meantime. They rather help someone take care of them than have an overcrowded shelter, no one wants to euthanize for no reason. Make sure mom has nourishment and is feeding her babies. Give them a some towels too.

She was actually being super protective, wouldn't allow us to pet her or go anywhere near her kittens. Later that day, the person who brought her in took her home so he could care for them for a bit. All cats brought into this cat shelter are spayed before going to a home. :)

LOL! I believe you! I just was freaked out when I was watching (before I read the notes)! Kittens are the cutest things in the world. We are looking for one now. Just hope our current cat, Jack, doesn't get TOO insulted. :)

If that grey one really was sleeping, DAMN, that was a deep sleep. She was lying right on top of it at the beginning of the video, and was pushed around a lot when she moved. I really thought it was dead.

Really, don't worry! Just soon after filming this it was walking around. It seems like many of the kittens can sleep through anything, even with the other ones pushing them around!

I know, that's why I'm glad they went to a foster home later that day. Unfortunately, we have a couple moms with babies in the shelter at the moment but not enough foster parents... :(

lpspielover202 the cat is moving if you look closley its head was moving around. cats tend to move there heads around in there sleep.

This made me feel better, mine are over a day old and the mom cat is small like this one. Was worried she wouldn’t produce enough milk. For me, dad cat is a tuxedo kitty, and the mom is a small calico.

There are also cat shelters that usually assist with feeding and vaccinations. When the kittens weigh 2 pounds they are big enough to be spayed or neutered. Usually they do the momma kitty at the same time. Then they will have you take them to adoption events to help you find homes for all of them. That's what its like here.

If you see that the mom is involved, then all you have to do is make sure the mommy has plenty of good food and clean water and she will raise them just fine. If she is abandoning them and not caring for them at all, then you need to worry and help the kitties. Thank you for having a good heart and watching out for these tiny ones!

i need HELP! i have the same exact situation i just found yesterday a cat behind my laundry room and it had just given birth to 4 kittens. Idk what to do. im afraid of calling a shelter cause they always euthanize them because they need care 24/7 but then again the mom is here she has not abandon them. Please help!! any advice will be appreciated! thank you.

This looked as though mama cat wanted some pats awful bad. She kept rolling and flirting with whoever had the camera, and sure looked like she hoped for a good head rub. I hope someone adopted her and had her spayed when the kittens were old enough and that she got a good home. She looks like a love.

Oh man, don't you love that proud look they get when they're cleaning up their kittens? When they go to train their kittens for hunting, they trot back so proudly with a half-mauled bird. Sad, but cute to watch. (We had adopted a stray and she happened to be pregnant).

A cat gave birth in my house... It had 5 kittens and they were the cutest thing i had ever seen! It turns out they were our neighbours cat, but it seemed like the cat liked us more.

provide lots of food and water for the momma cat. she'll take care of the rest. i suggest a lot of wet food since she'll be nursing and losing lots of fluids.
