I absolutely adore koala's, I've heard a figure of 10,000 is estimated to of perished in the bushfires, I'm heartbroken :( I'm so glad some are safe & being helped, not surprised she's so thirsty in that hot weather you're experiencing.

I'm always surprised that koalas trust humans enough to look to them for help. Also, koalas get their moisture from the eucalyptus leaves so I wonder if they are getting enough to eat.

I donated to WWF (world wide fund) Australia. Is that a reputable charity? I'm in the states and didn't know the best way to help.

It so amazing how these wild animals are looking to humans for help. I heard on the news the Irwins have taken in 90k different animals affected by the wildfires.

Thanks for these videos! And for helping them with water, etc. A couple questions. Is their fur wire-like, silky, plush, or other? What areas of Australia do they live? Anywhere there's a gum tree or certain geographic areas? My husband and I are having a discussion (let's be civilized and call it that! ☺️). We watched a show, I think from Alice Springs, "Mystery Road". I say it's too dry there and not enough trees. Right or wrong? We've tried to look it up - they say everything except answers to these questions or are vague. Thank you!

Father God, I beseech you to help our Austrailian friends persevere through the trama of the heat and bush fires. I ask that you would, right now, send your warring angels to cover, guard and protect all mankind, animals and living things from the heat and fires. Please have mercy on them all and bring YOUR healing rains to drench and nourish the dry parched grounds and lands. Lord, I pray too that people everywhere cry out to you for help for this nation, its people and its livlihood both wild and domestic, and I pray people all over the globe continue to do so until the fires are out and the heat is tamed. Restore whats been lost in every arena there to what you first created it to be and give it back life and life more abundantly. Lord, I ask too that a blanket of refreshing rain start now and continue on a regular basis to soak all soil, plants, foilage, ground, and areas needing your water and rains, so tragedies dont ever happen at this level ever again. Restore fresh water to creeks, ponds, streans, rivers, springs, watertables, watering holes and plant foilages of ALL kinds to there proper life giving levels and consistencies. Stop the fires, stop the embers, stop the heat, stop the loss of life and property. Bring back the numbers of all animals, any and all, with loss of life and restore their population back to healthy levels, especially koalas who have been highlighted in the media and endured so much (RIP Lewis & all others). Heal the people, animals, their lands and all of nature. Bless those who are on the ground with their hands and feet and hearts and souls trying to help anyway they can by caring for each other, the animals, and fighting the fires and bringing needed comfort and supplies. Surround Australia with your love and bring back life and restore it fully. Bless all the heroes who are battling this force for good to put out the evil of it all and let it not go forth or prosper in anyway any longer. Maybe we should design a water bottle to grip on the tree-a similar type to the bottles hamsters drink from. Then position it low enough for humans to refill it.

I'm so glad you lot are around to help care for these sweet creatures. They know they can depend on you for help, so they've probably put the word out about you, that this is a safe haven to come and live, and that the humans here will protect them. I am so heartbroken over the devastating loss to life these dear creatures have suffered, especially knowing these fires were deliberately set by someone before the fire crews had the opportunity to get in to do a controlled brush burn. Controlled brush burns are beneficial to the forest; it gets rid of the dead overgrowth and prevents out of control fires like this and horrific loss of life from happening. It's how the forest cleans itself, as I'm quite sure you know. I live in the US, and that is what we usually do. Unfortunately, we get our share of arsonists, too. It continues to mystify me how people can be so cruel. I sleep better at night knowing there are wonderful people like you out there who care enough to make your homes a sanctuary for these adorable little balls of fluff. I love your videos. They make me smile and give me something to look forward to. If Mama doesn't have a name yet, how about Leona? Can we figured out some better ways to solve their drinking problems ? EX : Set water containers, like vessels, bowls, casks, and so onto the tree trunks.....maybe other animals can drank as well.

This is one of the biggest tragedy to the world and I have known about this only today. There was lack of information. It should be on the front page of each newspaper on daily basis. 4th of January 2020 and the fires are still burning and spreading and are worse than ever before known. Millions of creatures have perished already. Hope you can get through this. Poor beings, animals like these suffer the most from forest fires currently in Australia. You would be seen like gods by that cute koala. This is what i believe humans were intended to be, guardians of all life on earth, not its destroyers like we currently are.
