No one can deny that they are THE ONLY Girl Group that BROKE the stereotype and achieved something that is HARD for a GIRL GROUP to achieve, 2NE1 is THE STANDARD… they set the bar TOO high
@@user-lh6nx6ow1x bp broke no stereotypes. I’m replying to the comment above. Compared to Blackpink, 2ne1 broke the feminist and girly sterotype with things like eccentric hairstyles and clothing. Don’t @ me. They are both amazing groups
You can literally FEEL and SEE the pain in ALL OF THE MEMBERS' faces when they reminisce about 2ne1 days. You can tell it really was their love and passion to perform. They weren't just treating it as a job or a means to make money. They LOVED performing :(
@@Sakura-mp3bzthey literally kill 2ne1 by disbanding the group . I don’t hate yang hyun suk himself . Cuz he voted for 2ne1. But I hate the company . I can imagine if they continue . also give minzy a solo back than . They will be the world famous 😢😢😢. Right now majority of the OG ygfam had left . Including gdragon
@mxnnlrnt mismanagement and they wanted to make way for Blackpink. The problem with YG is they struggle to manage several groups, they can only focus on 1 main group
They went through so much... and for YG to just throw them away for BP is so disheartening, also thinking abt how they were criticized for their looks and so much more stuff the went through is so sad. They're like a star that burned too fast 😞
"2NE1 has a very special relationship with MAMA." They started on MAMA and ended with MAMA 2NE1 has really made such an impact on K-pop Industry. I hope they reunite again.
@@PuriPuriPurple Sad but true. To accuse Bom as an addict without even fully understanding what anti-depressants are is truly tragic. What a bunch of troglodytes. I wish S Koreans learned from this, well one can wish.
@@tanujakiran2225 that goes for all groups now. For example No one can have split straight hair with hair pins without someone saying "she has the Jennie hair style". (I used this as a example because I've seen so many comments of this)
@@SapphicKnitsit was the same case as their last MAMA performance. Only CL was supposed to perform and then suddenly BOOOM!!! The fans were scorched by CL’s sweet surprise: a complete 2NE1 members performance. It was SO awesome.
the term Monster Rookies was literally invented because of 2NE1 and i hope they do comeback with a special stage in MAMA. They literally destroyed the internet during coachella with just 1 song....1 song. All members are still actively promoting and not giving up on their dreams on what was taken away from them as a group.
I hope Park Bom is doing okay. Out of the four of them, she seemed the most distressed revisiting those memories, and I know there is a lot of a trauma associated around that time for her. (her "scandal" where she was called a drug addict for taking antidepressants, etc) I just really hope she's okay. She deserves good things.
I honestly use to like her for herself until she start injecting needles into her face. Honestly feel sorry for her and wish YG did something about her Health. Anyways stan 2ne1

I love how Dara and Bom always introduce themselves as 2NE1 members even when the group has been disbanded for years. Dara even have an introduction line and she still says it, it's so cute. I wish they could've been together, the 4 of them on the same screen but this is still so meaningful for us
Years after years, no one really moved on. It just shows how irreplaceable they are. Back then, I thought time will heal everything but until today i still find myself hoping for them to come back. I cried a lot watching Coachella 2022 and the behind the scenes uploaded on CL's yt account. It's like the closure that was long overdue. I am always proud to be a Blackjack. Please support all their solo activities. Maybe someday we will see them on stage together again ❤️
@@FLAME1_1_0_3 I’m not sure, but I don’t think that’s the plan right now. Many people still recognize 2NE1 for their abundant talent and contributions to the world of Kpop no matter what GG’s have come after them. I believe it’s possible and it can happen.
Where are comments "who is here after 2ne1 Coachella 2022??" I feel this interview might have triggered the members to reunite, like they all expressed individually their desire to reunite which is why CL would have created a chance. I remember watching this when it was released and I truly felt there will be a day they will reunite, but hell yeahhh not in dream I would have imagined this year itself lol. I feel 2ne1 must be hyped well enough so that might get a comeback as well at this point. All but not least Thank you MNET! LIke I truly believe this was the turning point for the history created on Coachella 2022
Remember I cried for a whole month everytime I saw something related to the girls since "that day" happened, and it took me 2 years to fully be fine and watch 2NE1 live performances again without bawling my eyes out... I'm not a Blackjack though, I just simply love 2NE1.
You know whats heartbreaking?? Even them admitted, "We didnt know it'd be our last" Aggh i feel like crying tbh. I just wish they could held concert with all the members and all the fans would jam in every song 🥺👉👈 Edit: Ya'll had updated me with the Coachella stuff. I couldn't be more happier. So proud it happened 🤧 ❣️
all of us hope this... but yg is still has the 'say' on this matter... it does not varies if they are still on YG or not... it will varies if they will let them to sing it in a reunion or concert... yes they are the singer... they can perform it anf also have the right to... but the song is owned by YG....the producer also has say on it... but still it will be YG since the producer is also under YG... so it will be hard... but..if process/talks will be smooth.... maybe2x... it will happened.. sooner the better... ❤️
I usually listen to kpop butI am not that into it. So I don't know the system after disbanding? Can't it be possible to perform on stages like they did together before disbanding? Why? Or they can't because of their respective entertainment?
2NE1 was that group that didn't need a great choreography to be impactful and relevant. Their music was different and refreshing to the industry. One of a kind.
My heart always breaks for 2NE1, Bigbang and 2NE1 got me into kpop and it was hard to see them go the way they did...:/ The only group that I would even consider somewhat close to their stage presence and talent is Mamamoo but even then its not the same
The fact that they've already disband 6 years ago and still get compared with new gen kpop. That's when you know that 2NE1 are so "ICONIC" Their song, their style and their fashion is so unique and match with their own individual personalities. They're not that typical basic Kpop girl group. That is the reason why we love them.
DUDE it was 6 years ago?!!! I still remember cry my eyes out when the news broke out like it was yesterday 💔 time sure flies but they remain in our hearts and kpop history. LEGENDS
2ne1 was the band that introdused k-pop to Europe. I remember I was 12 when I first heared their music. First song I listened was 'Hate you' and I loved it instantly. Also first animated k-pop music video I have ever seen. I miss those days and I miss them so much. I feel very very nostalgic watching this. I cried with them. I used to draw outfits with the theme of their music videos. Now its more than decade later.. they look so beautiful still. ♡

I still remember when I first found 2ne1 on RU-vid years ago. I had no idea what K-pop was and had never listened to any song that wasn’t in English. I remember watching their music videos and thinking how powerful and amazing these girls were. I wanted to be strong like they were. Even to this day, when I’m feeling down I play their music to cheer me up and get me going. I miss them so much. I hope they are doing well, and I hope we can have another reunion (besides Coachella) soon!
2NE1 broke barriers of what an idol group was supposed to look like. The group was different in terms of style and music. Each member is unique in their own way.
To be exact and idol GIRL group because back than girl group the usual kind be cute / like pretty vibe but i some girl need to be badass abit this is what 2ne1 kick what the usual kpop girl group is . That was the changed from kpop girl group
@@Dynamatrix1973 Minzy maintained her body till today what are you talking about she is the only one who maintains her body fit like back in 2NE1 days. CL is in a healthy weight too. Bom also lost so much weight but her face swells up a lot we know about her health. Dara always maintained her body till today. Despite their body weight topics 4 of thrm performed amazingly last year in Coachella. (A small 2NE1 reunion)
this is not just remembering 2NE1's past, this is also remembering the fans past. I'm crying watching this. This reminds me of how glorious that era was, and how old i was when this all happened. I was on my early 20s with nothing to entertain me more than Kpop and Kdramas. It's so nice to see how far the girls have come. This journey is for both the girls and us! I'm happy that this was my era, that i was there when this glorious days happened.
I was in middle school and rushing home to see the performances before anyone got home because they made me feel uncomfortable for being interested in Korean culture. Man, those were the days 👩🏽🦲
YG and KNETs tried their hardest to kill off 2NE1, but in the end they'll always be remembered as icons. Industry mold breakers. KPOP royalties. Legends.
They aren't just a girl group, they are LEGENDS. They were one of the first Kpop girl groups who helped stared the Kpop wave around the world. They raised the bar too high that most groups today are struggling to meet. This is why they are memorable. They are always remembered by their OG fans as they genuinely loved them dearly. Most groups fail to keep their fandom after their break ups except for 2NE1 because they managed to win their fan's heart through their genuine characters. They are not just admired but also loved. You know you are a legendary artist when your own fans still hope for your reunion even year after break up. YG fcked up big time for disbanding them. They were amazing and genuine. I hope other companies would take them back as a group as blackjacks are all dying to see their comeback.
For me, 2NE1 stands above all the other kpop girls groups because each member was a distinct individual with her own sound and style. In other groups, the members are so homogeneous.
This could be happen in the next mama. look at this clip, mama made them together in this clip (even not really together), right? Also, they're all not in YG anymore yay! More chance to comeback & perform on mama
You would have to make a petition to YG or Teddy. The girls are no longer with YG. That means that they can’t perform any songs they did under YG. They can’t even use the name, w/out YG’s approval. This interview was most likely approved by YG. Aside from that MAMA & YG have an ongoing feud. That’s why most YG artist no longer attend MAMA. Blackpink for example hasnt attended since the time MAMA insulted them & treated the girls like shit. GDragon actually dizzed MAMA during his performance at MAMA. So when BLACKPINK came along, MAMA took it out on them. All in all YG was an asshole with these 4 queens. He mistreated, failed to protect, & even called them ugly, at one point🤬. Unfortunately I seriously doubt YG would approve of them performing again. Specially because the girls have spooked out against YG, & how badly they were treaded.
Yes, they were K-pop loved by the entire world while Blackpink isn’t K-pop at all, Korean yes but not K-pop, loved by the world. 2ne1 groundbreaking, bp meh
I feel like 2NE1 and BIGBANG are the two groups that made K-Pop a bigger thing. Now replaced by Blackpink (which looks like a bad copy of 2NE1) and BTS.
I don't think anyone will argue that CL is the biggest star of the group. But it's beautiful how she cares so much about the other 3 and wants to make sure that they are also part of "the show". She also makes it a point to include and thank the assistants and all the other behind the scene people. Bom is my favorite (I LOVE those big, beautiful eyes!), but how can you not be impressed by CL's heart?
The newer girls are getting hate when it's obviously the management's fault. Their artists are talentend song writers and producers too. Literally all they need are the the resources. Recording studio, choreo and marketing. CL literally was able to release bomb music on her own. It really sucks because the disbandment destroyed them. We can all tell how it broke everyone.
I couldn't watch this without crying every 5minutes. I miss 2ne1 so much 😭. 2ne1 and Bigbang were the groups that got me into Kpop and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will be waiting for a future reunion 😭💝

many do not know just how much 2NE1 did for kpop. They were the 1st ones to break in & lead in that fierce & badass energy for girl groups we see as a standard today A symbol for female empowerment that helped many groups like blackpink, itzy, everglow, loona to pursue a similar road in music A powerhouse that inspired many girls & women. To be bold, loud & proud. 2NE1 are icons.
True but it was all forgotten by....the more important these days were HOW MANY VIEWS CAN AN ARTIST ACHIEVED IN ONE SINGLE....MNET WERE LOST EVER SINCE 2ND GEN STARTED TO FADE....SPECIALLY 2NE1 BIGBANG
I 100% agree with you, but you wouldn't know it, from all the articles I've read, where 'Girls Generation' some how gets all the credit, and 2ne1 is seldom mentioned. It's infuriating.
YG had a precious jewel in their hands with 2NE1. They fucked it up. 2NE1 was a much needed breath of fresh air at that time. I can't speak about now since I'm not up-to-date with current gen's groups. But I would think 2NE1 would still make an impact in today's music scene. I'm glad to see my girls still killing it out there in anything they do. I would love for a comeback, but I also understand they have grown up & have new goals. They are my #2 fav girl group. The first? Spice Girls. LOL.
I'm still up to date since the early 2000s and 2NE1 still remains my favourite group. They still are a breath of fresh air for me. There are some girl groups I like but 2NE1 definitely had its place in kpop and it should have been harboured to its full potential.
This group is hands down the biggest mistake YG the company made in the sense that they let them go... I have been into KPOP for 16 years... I have watched so many music videos and live performances from multiple groups. 2NE1 wasn't even my original bias as that went to BigBang and I still have them as my top boy group especially as performers. However, I made my mom in high school let me go to another country just to watch these girls. I will never forget it. The talent... I couldn't even understand at the time. It was amazing to see them live for real and really see them show their hearts on the stage. I still support their solo work and watch everything I can. My lightstick still in my room from their concert in New Jersey. No matter what, they are my bias, they are the women that pulled me through a lot of stuff. From elementary school till now, I'll keep sticking by them. I pray to see them all together one day again. Leader CL, Maknae Dance Machine Minzy, Main Golden vocalist Bom, Visual Actor Dara.... Blackjack for life. 2ne1 4ever
being into kpop for 16 years and not having any clue what happened to them and blaming yg for it? seems you also started to use kpop just for attention, while not even caring about it...
@@dacom1179 except YG had a huge impact on what happened to them. Their scandals compared to BigBang (who I also was very biased to like 2ne1) wouldn't even hold a candle to the scandals BB had. YG stood by the boys 100x more then they did they girls. They also did not promote solo promotions of each member like the did BB (hence why Minzy left) and they did not protect Bom like they did some of the BB members. Trust I was a huge YG Stan for years, I still support their groups like BP, winner, ikon etc. However, it is obvious YG chose to let 2ne1 as a group die. Even after the disbandment, they did not support the remaining members (Dara, CL). CL legit did her own performance for the Olympics without YGs help, and Dara filled her own schedule without the company's help. So yeah, after 16 years of specifically following YG the most out of any company, I can definitely blame YG the company for what happened to 2ne1.
@@dacom1179 also weird to call me out for just using Kpop for attention when you haven't backed up why I shouldnt think YG is responsible for this groups disbandment. No hate, just curious why you think YG isn't to blame? I would say a lot of Kpop followers would agree with my statement but hey, I'm open to more info about it
Bruh I haven't seen them in such a long time... I am especially so happy to see Minzy look so nice and healthy. CL too, she's killing it now. The most heartbreaking thing was looking at Bom, I heard she struggled with depression and it's so sad, I hope she's doing better now.
their mama 2009 musical performance was so fresh that I started being their fan and NO REGRETS till today. Grew up with them, cried to their songs, danced in happiness at their concerts. 2NE1 will forever be a part of me!
The nostalgia is all here! For both 2NE1 & BLACKJACKS! Those years / era were the most incredibly gold! K-POP is much better that year and no other girl group can replace them. We love you 2NE1💕
@@lenvarias3578 indeed! I'm not shading on any artists here it's just doesn't feel the same, the vibe and the excitement. It feels so dull. The last time I've watched MAMA was in 2020, I had this kind of feeling called "waiting" for like, the main event of the awards but nah, from the start up to the end of the show I was like, "Wait, is that it?"
I got introduced to KPOP when I was in college. Also I was so proud when Dara who live in the Philippines also became an idol, it feels like she represents our country as well. I like their songs, I get so pumped up if I listen to it.
These weren’t just members in a girl group. They were sisters, you can tell how much they loved and cared for one another. Miss them so much, I was so happy to see them together again at Coachella 💕
if and when 2NE1 reunites and get the perform again at MAMA, that would be the most epic stage of all the history of the awards show... it would also be good to have current idols see how 2NE1 can devour the stage and communicate with the audience, something that they can learn from... but then again no one knows if it would ever happen one thing is sure though, a lot of people are still hoping that time will come when Bom, CL, Dara and Minzy performs together
As an old kpop fan, there were many kpop idols and artists have risen after them but I can't help but sad that I was more hyped in their era than today's. 2nd gen is one of a kind. And 2ne1 was the reason I became a fan!
Same, Idk how I came across them but doing so broadened my music taste and I’m so thankful that I got to enjoy them as well as many other groups but they’ll always be the first for me!
i became a fan during the bom drama the promotion right before crush leading into the crush promotions/album release they got me through my 13-14 year old teen depression and really got me into kpop as a young fan then becoming a 3rd generation stan after that. (still nothing compares to 2nd gen even though it was basically over when i joined)
if you are new to kpop, remember the name 2NE1 no need to stan them no need to like them. As a fan since 2nd gen, i/we already witnessed the glory days of kpop and we knew genuinely who paved the way of kpop music to the international music scene. K-media played dirty big time on them. The spotlight was snatched from 2NE1 and 2NE1 was robbed from the fans from blackjacks. They are the reason why the words "hiatus" and "disband" became traumatizing for all. If the rumor is true that the members is working on their band name, i couldn't wait to watch them again perform and devour the stage once again.
My blackjack heart was revived after there performance in coachela. And now I'm here watching this and all there past live performances. 2ne1 will always be a legend in the kpop industry. And no one could ever replace them in the history of kpop. 💕
Hearing them introduce themselves made me choked up. These ladies were a massive part of my early teens. I watched their videos and listened to their music when I was alone or stressed from my father's incessant verbal and sometimes physical abuse. They helped to shape my identity and I'll forever be grateful to them. I'm always in their corner awaiting their comeback. I'm a BLACKJACK until whenever. Good health, success and joy to them always. 2ne1 Nolja!!!
2ne1 is literally the blueprint for BlackPink, if you think that is shade then you're simply denying a fact. "If you ask me to distinguish Blackpink from 2NE1, I want to say I did not try to make them different," Yang said.
They are also the blueprint for MANY girl crush groups of today but non of them have that raw performance and stage presence that 2NE1 had. MAMA needs to do an icons stage, let everyone see what we've been missing.
I'm literally crying for 30 minutes straight. Crying for 2ne1, but mostly for feeling all the memories as if it was just yesterday. It hit differently when you actually saw these clips at the time it was airing live (or same week/month of the broadcast). I was in high school and a very avid kpop fan. It's not just 2ne1's memory, but it also brings back a lot of memories to me as a blackjack (especially to my youth). This really feels bittersweet and it's literally crashing my heart while smiling throughout.
Me too girl 😭 they defined my high school. They shaped alot of how I defined myself to who I am now and my style. I felt super confident as a teen whenever I saw them perform or they had a new mv out because they were so different from your typical girl group. Plus their outfits were bomb af
I rarely every like girl groups because or their cute image and higher registers. 2NE1 was different. They were confident, independent, strong and expressed themselves individually while complimenting each other. They all had incredibly unique vocals as well. They literally broke the mold of most female idol groups. There may be others who come close, but there will only 1 2NE1
