MAMAMOO - Décalcomanie (데칼코마니) MV Reaction 

Decalcomanie is a French word for artwork that is made by folding over like Rorschach blots. The English word decal comes from it. Thus all the mirroring in the MV. It is the same male (gay) actor with each of the 4 members but it's not intended to be one guy getting together with each of them but rather a parrallel experience of 4 first passionate kisses. The slow song in the middle is Memory.

I was lucky enough to see both the MyCon movie, and see them LIVE! We drove over 12 hours to Atlanta, and it was so worth it! I actually cried though the first 2 songs because I couldn't believe I was actually seeing them live. It was a dream come true, and they beyond lived up to everything I ever hoped for. My husband came with me, and had only seen a couple of things they had done, and by the time the concert was over, he considered himself a "Baby-Moo". He kept saying how Amazing they were, and how gorgeous their voices were! Of course, all I could say is, "I know, I've been telling you that for years!" He went with me to the movie too, and it was great, because besides seeing the behind the scenes stuff, it was great getting to see the songs that were cut from the American leg of the Tour.

One of my favorite MMM songs and quite unique in their discography or kpop in general. It has a different sound and vibe and I think part of that is due to being mixed by grammy-winning engineer Tony Maserati. As far as I know this is the only time RBW used an American engineer to mix a MMM song. Thanks for being the only reactor in memory who wasn't triggered by the kissing scenes or the fact that the same guy was with each of them. Agree with Marin Schafer that he's irrelevant as an individual - it's all about their experience in that moment; using the same actor makes him "generic male" rather than portraying him as a player. In the original MV he grabs Solar and pushes her up against the elevator wall to kiss her. RBW immediately got a ton of complaints and quickly re-edited the MV to make Solar's scene less aggressive. Solar said she didn't have a problem with the original scene, which was so Solar. She always wants to take things to the limit and push the envelope and in a song about the risky, dangerous feeling of out of control desire I can see why she thought the original scene was ok. The way her comment was reported might sound as though she's callous and ignorant about sexual violence but since I didn't see a translation of her complete statement I'm pretty sure it was cherry-picked and taken out of context. She's certainly not ignorant or uncaring about women's issues, as we saw in her Solarsido video about female genital mutilation.

I went to see them at the MyCon concert in the USA (2 stops) and they are so so so good live. And then seeing the MyCon movie is a whole different experience because you get to hear those same vocals but isolated without the ambient/crowd noise and it's such a wonderful thing! Glad you enjoyed the movie as well :)

Was glad I got to see the Mic On movie since they didn't get close enough to me to see them in concert. Had to drive 3 hours to get to a movie theater that was showing it. My favorite part (besides the interviews) was the part change

When i caught that your gonna react to this my first reaction was oh cruded because the artistic way of this mv ..well lets enjoy this journey in this radish field of dreams.

Hearing DECALCOMAINE and seeing the mv are two entirely different experiences! I enjoy both but prefer the latter. I have seen so much Mamamoo material on YT I was concerned seeing the movie would be one big repeat. But, being a true MooMoo, I went to the Saturday matinee anyway. I'm so glad I did! Between the theaters pounding surround sound and enormous wall to wall-floor to ceiling screen it felt as close to their live concert as I'll ever get ( without the screaming masses surrounding me of course). The concert footage was well edited with a mix of group highlights and individual interviews. I truly believe the movie wasn't put out as a money maker, but a thank you to MooMoo's worldwide that couldn't attend one of their concerts. I had a great time, left the theater with a huge smile, and will always remember it as my personal Mamamoo concert.
