Hwasa does look intense but she is so sweet. I was terrified when I met her because of how intense her eyes are but the second I met her, she was so sweet and personable.

Thank you for reacting to mamamoo! The song is kind of a disstrack towards netizen and the media, but at the same time it’s a reminder that everyone deserves respect and we should love ourselves. If you watch the video now on mamamoos channel there are subtitles available. Mamamoo in general has got a lot of backlash for the outfits they were wearing, but especially hwasa. A month or so ago she went to the airport without wearing a bra and the media treated it like a big scandal so I’m pretty sure the headline refers to this incident. When hwasa raps at the end she says panties sticking out I don’t care when I do it it’s hip - this is a reference to another outfit she wore to the airport were her jeans were unzipped and you could see the shorts she wore under them - this caused another big scandal. Mamamoo does have a lot of songs with great empowering messages - for example 4x4ever, yes i am and ahh oop. They are involved in the writing of most of their songs and sometimes also cocompose them. For example in this album apart from Hwasa co-writing and cocomposing HIP. Moonbyul and Solar wrote al lot of the b-sides. The whole album is full of great songs! I don’t know if anybody told you this before, but they are considered vocal queens. There is even a saying in korean ‘believe and listen to mamamoo’ because they are famous for their live performances. I really would recommend you to listen to their immortal songs medley! Sophia gave you some of the backstory but actually the braless thing was a statement in itself. Hwasa first caught flak for wearing what looked like a sports bra to the airport so the next time they went to the airport she didn't wear a bra at all. Hip is the first time they've responded in a song to all the idiotic crap they've gotten over their behavior and wardrobe. They usually let their actions speak for themselves, as in the bra vs braless sequence. Hwasa did the same thing after a big controversy over her sexy outfit at the 2018 MAMA award show. There was enough of a shitstorm that their agency RBW even decided to issue a bland statement saying the girls chose their own outfits and they didn't see a problem. Hwasa didn't say anything but for their next year-end award show appearance she wore lingerie. 🤣 Btw, that 2018 MAMA performance was a show-stopper - even their fellow idols were shown slack-jawed. Find the 8 minute video of the full performance. The extra scenes in Hip depict the girls living alternate lives in 3 different universes, which were seen in a series of 12 preview teasers for the new album that depicted a member doing something else with the title "MMMM Mamamoo Mulitverse What if ... MMM is not MMM?" (3 universes X 4 members). All of the women they portray are strong, confident and a bit unusual, the point being that all are Hip in their own way and deserving of respect. In one video for each universe their lives intersect, which relates this MMMMultiverse concept to the song Destiny. MMM believes they were destined to be best friends regardless of whether they became MMM or lived totally different lives. In case nobody has told you, MMM is best when they're live. Their live vocals are stunning and their stage presence is riveting. If you'd like to see an amazing live version of Destiny & Hip watch their performance on the VLive award show. But before you do that you should really check out the premiere performance of Destiny on Queendom because MMM pulled a MMM on VLive and totally rearranged Destiny. They often rearrange their songs in a different genre for special performances and this was one of the most extreme genre switch-ups they've ever done. I won't spoil it - enjoy!

You should check out their live performances for HIP. In a few, Hwasa has worn ripped jeans that reveal boxers: which was one of the, if not the main, part of the 'controversial' attire that had k-netz shitting bricks & Solar has a belted bra: alluding to when she received backlash for wearing a jacket with just a bra (bralette?) beneath for an awards show. They were also recently on a competitive show called "Queendom" and Solar recieved some backlash for a move she did during their cover of AOA's "Good Luck," so she has done it during two of their live performances. Sorry to be so chatty but you don't know them well so you might appreciate a little insight into their group personality. In Hip they're standing up for themselves while delivering an empowering message about being yourself despite unfair criticism. As you noticed, they're strong, confident, multi-talented artists and performers with a ton of swag and they take no prisoners when they take the stage but that's just one side of them - their duality is almost as legendary as their vocals, to the point that they almost seem to have a group multiple personality disorder (in a good way). Offstage they're one of the goofiest gg's in kpop and are aka beagle-dols because of their uncontrollable hyper wackiness. But they're very shy and awkward around strangers. Each of the members exhibits various contradictory personality traits too but you should get to know them yourselves. With all their talent and swagger you wouldn't think they'd be so humble about their accomplishments but they seem to believe they're blessed and lucky to have fans who support them. Solar has written three love songs to moomoos (with contributions by Moonbyul & Hwasa) and they recently rewrote one of their best ballads on Queendom to turn it into another love message to the fans (I Miss You). A big part of what drives them seems to be their need to return the love they've received tenfold by delivering better performances and constantly experimenting with new musical genres to give the fans something new and unique every time they release a record or perform live in concert. Btw, this year's series of major MMM concerts were over 4 hours long. Who does that? They're truly a gift that keeps on giving. 😂
