Mamamoo : 4 vocal, 4 rapper , 4 dancer, 4 artist every one have a solo single album

Maybe it’s good to know that mamamoo doesn’t have titles like main and lead. They introduce themselves as vocalist, rapper or performance ( other word for dancer). Also if you like mamamoo harmonies so much I would highly recommend compilations of mamamoo random harmonising with each other.

This program is called - "Immortal Songs" - singer/groups come and sing olden, famous or classic Korean pop or even folk songs re-arranged - thus the name "Immortal Songs". They will often time have the actual composer/song writer or the original singer of the songs sitting at the center in the audience (if the song writer is no longer with us).

others have pointed out a lot of what i was going to say (these songs are all covers, mamamoo doesn't do the typical main/lead positions) so will focus on other things mamamoo always has a live band in their concerts and that is honestly the best mamamoo-related ship ever, mamamoo + live band. they're just made for each other. rbw actually has their own house band, which is who they use (the've also got their own house orchestra, which is ridiculous. in the best way possible). there are a few uploads of the girls and the band practicing for concerts and it's just amazing. mamamoo also tends to introduce each member of the band during their concerts, calling each one by name and letting them do a quick little solo bit. (they tend to do similar for the backup dancers, though don't call them by name) byul was actually originally trained as a vocalist, which is probably a big reason she's so good with melodic rapping (and why many of us are super happy when she gets to sing alongside the other three in any of their songs). because the other three really are such top-tier vocals, byul was told she had to learn to rap to debut in the group. which destroyed her confidence in her singing. took her years to regain that, even with the constant support of the other three as they tried to get her to sing with them (she'd sing a lot on her own or offstage). which is why songs like "ten nights" or her solos "snow" and "absence" are so important. (as an aside, byul has actually thanked both solar and hwasa for helping teach her how to rap before they debuted) and you're very much right about all four of these women having complete trust in each other. and it's both onstage and off... that really is such a rarity. frequently in groups there winds up being some sort of power play or diva-esque one-upmanship but these four women always put the ego aside and perform almost like they're one being with four bodies. that's really amazing considering just how headstrong and independent each one of them is and is one of the things they love to show off... they love proving just how amazing each member is on her own then coming together as a harmonious whole (their "good luck" cover in queendom was such a great example of this). they have a true friendship and value that more than anything else oh, and on the cringe you mentioned... i totally get you there, but mamamoo is not perfect in that aspect. i mean, they're as close to it as you can probably get (i swear, they're not mere mortals) but they do make mistakes... which is only to be expected considering just how often they perform live. they usually laugh it off and keep going, though sometimes they wind up laughing too hard and starting a chain reaction of mistakes or just stop all together (this happened pretty recently when recording "aya" for a music show. solar's voice cracked and all four of them pretty much doubled over laughing about it)

Fun fact is , this performance is in ths middle of their live concert . And the concert is 4 hours , you can check it yourself , amazing .

Main vocalist etc isn't in mamamoo's vocabulary! All solo artist in a group. Top caliber Vocals. Wooheee!

This medley is EVERYTHING! Easily one of my favorite performances from the queens (which is saying something because it's SO HARD TO CHOOSE). Thank you for the equal appreciation of each lady and what they bring to the group.

I listen to alot of KPOP and hands down Mamamoo is my FAVORITE female group. The voices, the visuals, their quirky characters.... all perfection in my opinion! They have a style that is all their own and unique!

I have to agree with you on your comment about Hwasa's voice. There is one youtuber, I think its Julia Nilon if am not mistaken, she did mention that Hwasa use a lot of different kind of technique with her voice, that is why she can do raspy, she can deep, she can do high, she can do husky, she can do airy. For me wheein is has the best vocal technique but Hwasa like to experimenting if I were to describe her voice.

I definitely agree with your point on Moonbyul's rap - her delivery is sharp, the words rounded. She's got such a unique musicality and is just so incredible as a vocalist and rapper; a true artist! They all are, obviously, and their chemistry on/off stage is so heart-warming. Another great reaction as usual!

I see that moomoos have corrected the notion that MMM has main vs lead singers but in fairness to your misconception Solar was sometimes described that way in the past. Just so you know, she herself says no when asked. All-star group is correct. The way they do Vulcan mind meld harmonies and listen to each other on stage and pick up where each other leaves off or do call and response trade offs is just like an all-star jazz band that's been working together for years. Their versatility is unmatched and their vocal arrangements are off the charts (so to speak). Their range of vocal techniques individually and as a group is so extensive that they're able to pull off any style of popular music and do it so uniquely that people say they're a genre unto themselves. This video is from one of MMM's 2017 concerts and the medley includes some of the covers they performed on Immortal Songs between 2015-17. They didn't include it in the medley but Delilah is also from that period. Delilah blew my mind when I was new to kpop and is the song that made me a moomoo so I would never put it down but imo their best live vocal performance is I Miss You on Queendom. Since you didn't recognize the songs in the medley I assume you've only seen Delilah on the Immortal Songs tv show, which means you have 13 other fantastic performances to look forward to. Each is a spectacular vocal showcase but along with Delilah my other favorite is the heart wrenching ballad Backwoods.

MAMAMOO are queens of live vocals. They're all talented. They all are. Before there's SISTAR now we got MAMAMOO. Both are good at singing live. Queens. Queens.

A group that also does this layered vocals - rap thing is BTOB. Some people call them the male equivalent to Mamamoo since there very similar with their abilities (though not exactly the same). Honestly, they're worth checking out if you haven't heard of them before! If you want to hear the layerd vocals thing at first, I'd recommend "I'll be your man" since this song just makes my jaw drop every single time. Also, Mamamoo and BTOB have covered each other's songs before and totally slayed it. BTOB covered "You're the best" and Mamamoo covered "It's Okay" (I think). These are also worth watching! (Fun fact: Moonbyul is often called the twin of Minhyuk, one of BTOB's rappers and they do look very similar. They took a DNA test to verify whether they're actually siblings or not, as far as I know.)

I know exactly what you mean by cringe when people sing. Perfect wording. I'm the same way and it took a minute for me to put that guard down with them and they have not disappointed. All of the songs are covers from older artists from the show "immortal songs 2, singing the legends" It's a contest show where singers go up against each other to win based on audience vote. Mamamoo has been on at least a dozen times and have won three times. I watch the performances constantly as they are all live, no backing track and of course these beautiful ladies are perfect every time. Great reaction!! Thank you!

this is a clip of a concert DVD called Moosical, it was their first Concert just about two years after their debut, this particular clip was uploaded and ignored for quite awhile until reactors discovered it.

AH I loved this reaction. The immortal songs medley never gets old. I must have quite literally watched it a hundred or more times and I always get excited for the next song they sing because "it's the best part." Some people will probably have already told you, but Moonbyul sings too! She was originally a singer and Solar coached here on how to rap before they debuted (I know). One video you might enjoy of Mamamoo is their MMMTV episode called "Mamamoo plays in the car" which not only flexes their vocal ability but their musicality. Or pretty much any Immortal Songs performance like Delilah. You also might enjoy watched all of their solo stuff, because every single one of them is a solo artist. In terms of songs with performance/music videos: Moonbyul has Eclipse, Iljido, and Absence, Solar has Spit it Out and Adrenaline, Hwasa has Maria and LMM, and Wheein has Water Color and a live clip of every song on her album (I recommend Butterfly personally!) (If you just wanted to hit the title tracks though, that would be Spit it Out, Maria, Water Color, and Eclipse.) If your bias in MAMAMOO is Solar, so you should react to her live performance of "Despacito" in concert. That's totally a different vibe, watching her singing in Spanish and doing pole dance.

Immortal song is like old songs medley, it’s not their song, so yes 70/80s vibe. Ps: they don’t have main vocalist in this group, not like the other KPOP girl group, they are ALL main vocalist. So listen their rap song: sleep in the car, I think you would find a very different Mamamoo hahaha

Our moonbyul is very well known by her rapping, in fact, she's one of the most credited rappers in Korea. But sadly she's an underated singer, she has a very good and unique tone but she never really have enough opportunity to show it off.

No, these are not their songs. These songs are Korean classic songs, and they arrange them into medley.That's why it felt oldschool. P.S. In my opinion, Moonbyul is not underrated though, I think she is quite well known in the Kpop industry since Mamamoo is quite famous in Korea. However, Mamamoo is not that famous internationally, perhaps that's why you think Moonbyul is underrated, because the whole group is not getting the recognization they deserve...?
