Hwasa was actually sick when they filmed this; they were in the midst of promoting their last album and her grandmother had passed away - exhausted and dealing with other things- she still totally KILLED it. All of them did truly - BTW - Moonbyul was actually a vocalist first and had to learn to rap. IMO i think that’s why her raps and her voice still harmonizes so well with the rest of them. My fave GG!
This is one of the few groups where members aren't singing as "back up" to any particular member. They're all incredibly talented and respected vocalists in the industry!
It’s good to see Mamamoo back on the channel! You guys saw Hwasa in the “Hula Hoops” MV with DPR Live and Beenzino Mamamoo has a new song called “Mumumumuch” which is really good and fun. I hope you guys get to check it out!
Starry night MV is visually stunning (along with their vocals ofcourse). Filmed in New Zealand and includes Hwasa Solo track at the end Aya is like Egotistics cousin lol Thanks for reacting to Mamamoo!
"I Miss You" definetely gave chills. Mamamoo and EXO are my "Can't get you out off my mind" idol. Thanks for recognizing them and be a new fan of them.
It still lowkey hurts me. Mamamoo, imo, is the best girl group really talented. They deserve to be known by everyone. Wish the world knew their music and voices more.
they don't do live shows in the West. how will people know them if they don't? the reason that a lot of Westerners know Blackpink and BTS is cause they make live shows in the West, appear on late night shows in the West, etc. in 7 years Mamamoo have only made 3 live shows in the West: New York and Los Angeles, and Brazil. Mamamoo ain't gonna explode like BTS and Blackpink did without doing live shows in the West.
Vocal Queens indeed. Unmatched among their peer groups. And their discography is so authentic. They own their own sound. No girl group sound like this in kpop.
Fun fact, the entire song "Dingga" is a reference to wanting to go hang out and drink with your friends, but you can't because of covid-19. All of the lyrics allude to covid/quarantine struggles. Wasted delivery fees, social distancing, staying at home indoors so you have a lack of vitamin D, and summer just flying by in the blink of an eye.
MAMAMOO are ready to enter your musical hearts in the US ;) From May 16th to June 4th they will give 9 concerts in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Fort Worth Texas, Nashville, Baltimore, Oakland and co... These girls made it from the bottom to the top because of their talent, passion and special personalities. They are not a typical K-Pop group. Musically they have a wide discography, starting with jazzy, retro and r&b produced by successful korean musicians and producers, startet in a small company. Always with a bit of fun, their special magic comes when they perform in front of an audience and heat up the atmosphere with their voices. Between them and their fans called 'Moomoo' it's a bit of a soul connection, but especially between them. Don't miss this rare chance to see them. They come for the first time. ;) ps: Musically, I can recommend going deeper into the 4 season 4 color series. It is holistic in concept and a nice idea. Kick-off with the song 'Paint me' With good headphones it gives me always shivers ;)
@@HigherFaculty hi faculty, i know theres lots popular groups. I hope you can do more mamamoo. Maybe can do "dinga dinga" really fun ..also yellow flower written wrong..its called "starry night" actually
i wouldn't say insane. they have good voices but their music is forgettable and they overdo it with harmonies. also, look how fun Mamamoo have and then look Big Mama. huge difference. Mamamoo are more enjoyable to watch live.
@@RolanMar imagine saying "nobody asked your opinion" on the internet. nobody asked you to tell them what to react next, but you said it. i don't care and i won't ask your permission. get real ASAP.
@@SapiaNt0mata I didnt ask for a reaction. and still nobody asked for your opinion on my comment, if you have something good then say it, otherwise, stay away from other people’s comments, yes my reply is harsh because this the suitable way to respond to your comment in the first place
I enjoyed watching Mamamoo Dingo's killing voice reaction. Among the dingo killing voices, I also recommend the killing voices of a group called "Big Mama". It is a four-member female vocal group with 18 years of debut. Big mama killing voice(dingo) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OsRogAzmsF8.html

Yellow Flower was the title of the album. The song is called Starry Night. The song title was listed on top, often in Korean, with the album title and year underneath. This Killing Voice session included songs from throughout their career, as you noticed, starting with their debut song Mr Ambiguous and ending with their latest single at that time, Aya (Nov '20). Starry Night is the first title track in Mamamoo's four album series 4 Season 4 Color, which is the most complex and ambitious project ever done by a girl group. Over the course of a year starting in March 2018 they released one album per season from spring through winter. Each season was associated with a color, an emotion, a stage in or out of a relationship, and one member was featured on each album with a self-composed solo song. It's an interlocked series of natural cycles and it gets pretty deep if you add in a life cycle from childhood to old age with some of the Asian philosophical concepts they hint at including reincarnation (the cycle starts over) and Taoist 5 element color theory. Black is the one color of the five left out but I think it's not a coincidence that their next album after the 4S4C project is called "reality in BLACK." Sorry for the long intro essay about the 4S4C series but it's a landmark achievement in their career and the artistic complexity of it is one of the things that makes MMM different. When you watch the Starry Night MV you'll see a teaser at the end for Hwasa's solo song Be Calm on the Yellow Flower album. The other three title tracks were Egotistic (summer/red), Wind Flower (fall/blue) and Gogobebe (winter/white). I also highly recommend the vocal masterpiece Paint Me, which was a pre-release single to introduce the 4 Season 4 Color project. Paint Me functions as the 4S4C theme song and the lyrics and the deceptively simple MV introduce many of the concepts and symbolism used throughout the series.
I don’t think they meant it that way, they just meant solar has a powerful type of voice and that she can be strong alone. They’re all strong individually and together they create a great sound 🔥
introduction to mamamoo by purple hawke most recent and best guide ..think you'll love the quality of that video 2 pts ..gives lor insight into the members personalities as well
One thing we see Mamamoo doing throughout this video, that I wish more groups would do (or be allowed to do) is _smile_ on stage and have a bit of fun while performing. Like winning encores on music shows or traveling to festival stages. Improvisation, playfulness, that sort of thing.
Yes! I had been requesting this for so long, wondering when you'd get to it. I'm glad you got to check out their live vocals it really shows their talent and why their are called vocal queens.
it's good that they reacted to this a bit later cause most reactors that reacted to this did it with the bad English of the auto-generated lyrics and there were no subtitles for their conversations, etc. now the subtitles have been added manually. it's not 100% perfect, but it's good enough.
Mamamoo is the best singing group playing today, all 4 of them are the best and putting them together is just next level for awesome talent. Solar is my bias but all of them are perfect. They are number 1 for groups today, especially live.(Prince is number 1 of all time for me but I am old so I was there back when he started.) If you want to hear the number 1 rock/hard rock band playing today, especially live, Try Band-Maid. The talent they have with instruments is there with the best ever, especially live. You cant go wrong with Mamamoo, all of their songs are good, their live performances are the best and they all have Solo stuff which is just as good as the group.
Ummm let’s NOT say “all u gotta do is back her up”😒 all the members were killing it end of discussion. They obviously all have different singing voices. Hwasa has more rasp & sultry, Wheein has high pitched head voice, Solar has powerful chest vocals, & Moonbyul mostly raps but when she does sing, she has deep soft vocals. THEY ARE ALL AMAZING. & what y’all are not gonna do is say that Solar is the best. She could be ur favorite but that doesn’t mean she’s the best. It all depends on the style u prefer. I prefer Hwasa’s sultry raspy voice but they’re all amazing💯
Also, hwasa was sick and more exhausted than the others that day but she still killed it. i feel like people never give hwasa the appreciation and credit she deserves, specially when she was dealing with so many things that day 😞
I found this Killing Voice video a few months ago just trying to relate to my daughters. This video made me a fan, I'm a rock/metal guy. Their music videos are fantastic, i personally prefer the live performances though. Because their talent as a group really shines when they're singing and dancing together. I'd personally recommend checking out Pianoman, has a jazz vibe to it that's really cool, IMO.
since you're rock/metal guy i'll recommend to check out OneWe. it's a Korean rock band on same label as Mamamoo. Gogobebe from this video has a rock version and OneWe plays the music, including when they perform in award shows.
@@SapiaNt0mata Thanks! I'll check them out. I have heard the rock version of Gogobebe. I wasn't aware it was anything other than studio musicians. I've been listening to a new group called Rolling Quartz. They're really good. Released their debut song 9 months ago.
They never use a backing track to fill the gaps. Always just voices. Did a series of programs, Immortal Songs. Traditional older Korean style songs remained. KPOP groups don't do well. Mamamoo invited back multiple times and won 3. Queens of vocals. Being from smaller company, they do it all. Writing, arranging, choro. The MooMoos. Their fan group is crazy. The company has expanded. All their groups are a little older. Vocals first. Concepts after. Fantastic singers in the company. Rainbow Bridge World. Oneus. Purplekiss and a band Onewe.
i'm a sm artist stan but when i first heard mamamoo, i immediately became a moomoo (their fandom name) cause yo they're so talented it's crazy how people are sleeping on them. they deserve more recognition.
just how you said you're an SM artist stan(not judging you. you do you) there are others that are YG or JYPE stans and don't listen anything else, especially a group from a small company. people are sleeping on them cause they're not very popular cause they are in a small label.
I thought there were 4 people reacting, it is just you two with a different camera. Need to get my eyes checked. Glad you did a reaction of Mamamoo they do have wonderful voices and such diverse discography
not yet. they haven't done Immortal Songs Medley, introduction to Mamamoo part 1 and 2, Why MAMAMOO should stop hosting their own show , Starry Night, Hip, Wind Flower costume version dance practices.
Dude I cannot tell you how much it means to hear someone recognize how much engineers put into making artists sound good. I just gotta correct you: we aren't artists. Truely great sound engineers disappear between the arists and the audience. We have a zillion track Pro Tools projects and our sole purpose is to make nobody notice it's a zillion tracks. Maybe it's art, but bottom line we are paid to vanish. You're there to pipe the performers into the audience. No glory. No fame. Just sleep deprivation and the best job in the world.
The fact you decided to say the others were basically just backing up Solar is very rude. They all have amazing vocals and the fact you could not appreciate them individually and as a group is disgusting. I was considering watching more videos from you but after the shitty way you approached Solar's high notes was off putting.
You should definitely check out the ultimate introduction to mamamoo by What Girl. These ladies are awesome. My favor pop group overall. Not just kpop, not just female, but my fav pop group ever.
Hwasa literally gave hits after hits as a soloist, not to mention Moonbyul and Wheein's vocals as well as raps in shows like 'Masked Singer' etc. U haven't even heard the high pitch vocals that sound like a whistle from Hwasa & Wheein so don't speak irrational things based on such little insight and review. This grup is literally on the top in terms of vocals because of the versatility of each and every member so stop judging man.I saw y'all speaking about Jessi too when y'all literally have no idea about their debut years and experience and whole skill range. Even though this video is 7 months old it pisses me off
Really liked what you said about Art. Dingo Music nails it with their recordings and Mamamoo Killing Voice is one of my favorite recordings even though it's more of a sampler. Wheein was the last singer that I took notice of. They all shine differently, and they all have vocal talent. Wheein is the Butter (try cooking without it). I'm addicted to her honey voice now. They are 4 talented solo artists that collaborate regularly as Mamamoo. That they are so playful and relaxed during this recording just show how comfortable they are with their singing and with each other. This Killing Voice is a pretty big platform, and they are so chill & being themselves - it adds to the enjoyment of their performance. Check out their MVs for: Wind Flower, Starry Night, Egotistic, Piano Man, Mr Ambiguous; Hwasa's Solo Album - Maria; Wheein's Solo Album - Redd ..... It's all Art. Enjoy
I hope you two check out TXT Force performance on First Take. First Take is where artists perform Japanese tracks in one take and live, TXT has been invited a few times and they performed their song Force which is the theme track of the anime World Trigger.
i wouldn't say on another level. they have good voices but their music is forgettable and they overdo it with harmonies. look how fun Mamamoo have and look at Big Mama. the difference is like night and day. Mamamoo have an advantage from other groups cause of this.
