The refund sister, is a combination of different age singer, hwasa the youngest in her 20’s, jessi in her 30’s and hyori in her 40’s (first generation girl idiol) and uhm Jung hwa in her 50’s is a soloist singer and actress. This song is a bop
You should see the behind the scene of the Refund sister. They filmed the recording process and it was hilarious. The two olders take time and recording their parts together and it was emotional since it documented the recovery of the red-hair woman from cancer surgery. Jessi was good but she kept on argueing with the producer & throwing in random ideas. Hwasa was in and out the recording booth in less than 20minutes. The producers had dinner together while she was recording and just let Hwasa do whatever she want (she directed the whole recording process on her own). Also since the MV was for a show project so they didn’t want to spend much money on it. Hwasa was having a full on arguement that they should spend 100k on the MV while she reusing her tea bag 3 times😂 - really showed her priority about spending money. At last they agreed in cutting cost by focusing on the artist’s facial expression instead in vest in the props so that MV was the result
You should react to Dancing Queens on the Road, where Hwasa performed as part of a troupe traveling around the cities with such legendary singers as Kim Wansun, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Hyori, Boa. A lot of great performances have been created in this show.❤
Refund Sisters, was a group created by a variety program that brought together artists from several generations of kpop, unfortunately they only have this song together. Uhm Junghwa and Lee Hyori are the OG of kpop, 1st generation. Jessi is not exactly from kpop, she is in fact a rapper, but with a booming voice that goes beyond what is expected from a rapper, she sings very well, but if we were to classify her, she is from the 2nd generation, but her breakthrough really happened at her peak of the 3rd, and Hwasa of course is the Queen of the 3rd generation. But this year Hwasa, Lee Hyori and Junghwa participated in another reality show together, "Dancing Queens on the road" with other TOP artists like BoA and Wan Sun, I highly recommend it, I LOVED this program. Mamamoo members also make a small appearance in 1 of the episodes, to support Hwasa. They are amazing.
Street Women Fighter season 1 actually feature a song of Solar and Moonbyul. It was sooo good! The song name is Bada Boom and they recently performed it live with full choreo at their Mamamoo+ concert. SO FRICKIN GOOD
As others have pointed out, these are 4 queens from different decades. Iconic. At the time of this (yes, sadly only one) release: Hwasa: 25 years old Jessi: 31 Lee Hyori: 41 Uhm Jung Hwa: 51 like, who does this in K-pop?
Jessie is a korean-american singer and rapper, i think from new jersey. She's much more comfortable speaking english than korean, which leads to some fun times in some of the interviews she's done on her show 'showterview' (i miss that show). Sounds like you've got the hwasa showterview episode in your list, so i'll mention that solar was on it twice, technically the first interview of each season. I absolutely love jessie's interactions with both girls, who she pretty much instantly adopted
Fun fact, Street Woman Fighter 1 also had a similar collab with an artist and made an MV for it. And that artist was Jessi. :D I feel that it's because of PSY, that might have made both of these collabs happen? Context: When Jessi guested on SWF1, she was still in PNation, PSY's company, the same company that Hwasa is currently in (though she left before Hwasa joined). Edit to add the link to Jessi' song, Cold Blooded. :D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1JHOl9CSmXk.htmlsi=BwGOIvUXdPVsvwIK
10:48 that's Lee Hyori. You should add her to your solo playlist too 😸. She's been around since 1st gen, originally as part of the girl group Fin.K.L then as a soloist. My favourite era is Miss Korea/ Bad Girls era 😂 honestly the whole Monochrome album is a no-skip masterpiece
I'm just realizing Hwasa has in the Refund Sisters MV the same hairstyle as in the dingo Killing Voice Video - so this must have been recorded at the about the same time
If you get to mid December you can end it with Moonbyuls new song. She gave us a new song for her birthday (December 22nd) for the last 7 years and the last couple days she said she recorded a new song. It could be the song she features on on onewe Giuks solo album (release Nov 15th) or a new Birthday song.
A little easter egg of sorts in that sims video is the way the game hwasa/hyejin kept going to that one spot on a bridge. Hwasa likes to go to a certain spot on a bridge over the han river when she's feeling down or thoughtful (a spot she and wheein went to frequently when they first moved to seoul, as were having a rough time)
Theres a lot about kpop i still dont know but the first time i saw Uhm Jung-hwa(the one with red hair) was in the kdrama Doctor Cha.. so i was so excited when i kept seeing reels on tiktok showing her in this group and everyone freaking out that Dr Cha was in it.
Don't Touch Me is a bit of a banging tune alright . Now if want a completely different vibe to the song search Refund Sisters empty stadium How Do You Play Eps 69 and watch that , I end up breaking down most of the time when I watch that one .
Refund sister come from variety show name hangout with yoo. It's a famous variety show in korea.. they got together because of the show.. they are diva in different generation.. they only got one song together but hwasa has collaborate with uhm junghwa in one song.. I love hwasa chilli too.. I hope she get a chance to perform together with street woman fighter 2 team..
And Hyori is the reason we have this. They did another fun collab on the show with Hyori, Jae-Suk and... I can remeber the third guy... called SSAK3 and Jae-Suk ask her about her dream collab and that was that. The making and training for Refund Sisters goes for about ten episodes of the show and is really fun to watch. Dancing Queens on the Road is great, too. It's missing Jessi, who had a well earned pause from the media at the time of filming, but with BoA and Wansun two of the gratest ladies in KPop beside Hyori. And I think the show is her brainchild, too, born in her show Seoul Check-in.
Lee Hyori wanted to make a group with iconic Divas representing each Age Generation, Uhm Junghwa is in her 50s, Hyori is in her 40s, Jessi in her 30s, and Hwasa in her 20s. :)
I'm looking forward to seeing you check out Jessi. She's a rapper and singer and she's basically known for being intimidating and shocking by Korean standards but I think she's hilarious and she's actually a sweetheart underneath all that attitude. Hwasa is actually a lot like Jessi.
Jessi, when she was the performer whose work was being choreo'd in the Street Woman Fighter competition, really made her mark. The grand prize for winning the contest was _supposed_ to be the winning group doing the MV. Jessi said, NO YOU ALL ARE TOO GOOD I WANT YOU ALL, and made it happen! The winning group got the benefit of all of the other groups doing the winner's choreo in a couple of mass scenes. Looks like Hwasa followed suit (or maybe the showrunners decided it was a great tradition)
Have you seen the performance from 2016/17 when Uhm JungHwa asked Hwa Sa to perform "Invitation with her, and MonstaX on KBS Song Festival? It's freaking AMAZING! Uhm Junghwa w/ Hwasa, MONSTA X - Invitation [2016 KBS Song Festival/2017.01.01] - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XHPWlSlI4G8.htmlsi=42d17C9p2f73p4C4 and then there is this performance of Hwa Sa and Jessi singing it for fun, infront of Uhm JungHwa, while they were creating Refund Sisters Hwasa & Jessi sing a duet of "Invitation" [How Do You Play? Ep 60] - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yeF4XGoxQBk.htmlsi=I33WTVY5pQEudm4d
