Good pairing since MMM & RV have been friends since their rookie days. Here's some extra info about the MMM guide. Sido means try or attempt. Solar's original concept for Solarsido was to take on new challenges such as boxing, surfing, skydiving and earning a license to drive trucks. Over time she expanded Solarsido to include the things Moo YT mentioned. She also does dance covers and terrific interviews and she regularly collaborates with Cosmic Girl (a singer/songwriter who has co-written and produced a number of MMM songs) on song medleys, etc. Last year Moonbyul was the winner on a tv show called Second World where 8 very talented girl group rappers competed as singers. We all knew she sang well but I don't think anyone expected her to win in a landslide. The Hwasa songs you asked about: Twit, Maria, I'm a B(*tch), LMM, In the Fall, and b-side Bless U from her 2nd EP Guilty Pleasure. Twit was her official solo debut. Maria and LMM (Lost My Mind) are bookend songs on her 1st EP, Maria, in that after an intro song they're the first and last songs on the digital album and they're two very different, very personal responses to all the hate she receives. Twit is included as a bonus track on the physical cd. I'm a B was the main single on Guilty Pleasure. In the Fall was an unpromoted collab between Hwasa and producer Woogie. She's done several songs with Woogie, starting with a 3 way collab called Don't in 2018 with rapper Loco, which was one of the biggest hits of the year and one of the sexiest collabs in kpop history. For Moonbyul, where it showed her talking about having to give being vocal, came from a show where her and other female idols had to come up with a drama of shorts that they would act and star in. From what I can remember I believe they did stories of themselves so its a drama about them. So she was made to be the rapper but I don't know if it went down exactly like that
Truthfully even if Irene doesn't resign her contract I highly doubt they'd disband bc of that because those girls are attached at the hip they legit grew up together. Another SM group, SNSD, are still together despite more than half of the members not resigning with SM and joining other companies. Does it make coordinating group comebacks difficult? Yes. But they still release music together. But the person who broke the news about Irene's contract is the same person who wrote totally bogus "news" about Seulgi's contract just a few weeks prior so I wouldn't put too much stock in it. They just announced their next full album and are doing business as usual.
MamaVelvet is such a good choice, they're really good friends with each other Moobyul even participated in an episode of Irene & Seulgi's reality show, and is really fun to watch
Yayyyyyyy more Red Velllveeeeeet! Also I have never watched a Mamamoo guide I don't think? I've learned things about them over the years, but I also didn't know that much about Wheein and it makes sense why having seen her section now. Something I love about Mamamoo soooo much is that they seem to have SO MUCH FREEDOM. They do what they want to do, and present themselves the way THEY want to be presented. This is not without controversy or backlash, but IMO only the best kind - the kind that comes from closeminded people that want to keep them small and they will not be small. I noticed someone already mentioned that the first song on Moonbyul's section was Selfish with Seulgi - I looove that song so much so I hope you will be able to check it out soon. They go together so well! Seulgi is really a collab queen and I adore Moonbyul. I have never seen this guide to Red Velvet, it's fun to see one with some updated clips and I'm looking forward to part 2! They really are all multitalented queens. One of my favorite things about Irene that you kind of get to see a little bit in this guide but they didn't talk as much about is how her speaking voice is so soft but her laughter is so loud. That really tells you everything you need to know about Irene and her heart. Of course, my love - Wendy! My practical double bias of Seulgi! This was so great. Both of their solo albums are so great and yesssss Aaliyah and Ciara definitely BOTH came to mind for me as well with her solo debut MV and title track 28 Reasons. The album has a variety of sounds and all fits Seulgi perfectly. Wendy's solo album being the first thing after she returned from recovering from her devastating injuries is incredibly healing and beautiful.
idk if someone has commented abt this already but rv's feather dusters for lightsticks reminded me that moomoos, when mamamoo didn't have a lightstick yet carried bigass radishes to music shows😂 (this is because moo translates to radish in Korean)
Doing both RV and MMM together. Are you aware of the events at The SBS 2019 awards program? Solar and Wendy along with two others were supposed to do a special stage. Wendy fell from an elevated platform in the dark when the stairs were not properly installed. SBS said she was immediately tended to, but Solar says she found her and alerted the staff. She suffered a broken pelvis, wrist and cheek bone and was laid up for about a year. It was during that time when the Irene Seulgi subunit was active. Solar fell on the steps at the red-carpet interview. There is a video that doesn't show the actual fall, but you hear her scream, the sound of her heavy landing and see the reactions of others present. Solar was able to take part in the special performance. The stage was also very slick and several performers from various groups fell there. Apparently BTS had reported the improper stairs earlier and refused to use them. We are still hoping for a collaboration stage with solar and Wendy together.
