Yma Sumac's last recording.
For what I know, "Mambo Confusion" was released as a single in 1991 in a very limited edition and only in Germany.
It is a mix (or remix) version of her Gopher Mambo, Chicken Talk, and a few other of Yma's songs (I would say Chuncho - The Forest Creatures is also present between 3:20 - 3:30). Yma, however, recorded some new vocals especifically for this song.

Alucinante este tema! creo que hay muchas cantantes de los 80s 90s y de la actualidad que se han influenciado de ella aunque muchas no lo dicen.

nice little video ! thanks for sharing. I'm one of the few lucky bastards to actually own the 12"-single and the CD single of Mambo Confusion...... It was only released in Germany and was taken out of the shops less than 2 weeks after its official release.I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time back then...

@sbergman27 Come again? If she didn't have faith in herself, she would have never done anything with her life. She knew she awesome; it's not about becoming popular. It's about doing what you love, and she did it. She has tons of fans and will always be loved. I don't know what lenses you are looking at her life through, but there is no tragedy here. Why is someone's life always a tragedy once they die? I'm not buying it. Viva Yma!

It wasn't released worldwide because the bastards who made the dippy tracks wouldn't give Yma creative credit for contributing her own melody and words/sounds.

There is a techno mix, from the early '90s , made by a Dutch DJ in Holland. It is a mix of TAKI RARI. ( a bootleg and it`s in my collection )

Yma Súmac, la cantante peruana y "princesa inca" que conquistó el mundo gracias a su prodigioso rango de voz. Tenía una voz espectacular, fuera de serie. Llegaba más alto y más bajo que nadie. Podía sonar tan grave como la del cantante y poeta Leonard Cohen y tan aguda como la de la soprano Montserrat Caballé.

@@Rockerpatitas Muchas canciones de Yma son adaptaciones que hizo Moisés Vivanco de temas tradicionales. La canción de este video está basada en 2 mambos antes grabados por Yma. Para mí Gopher es original, pero Chicken Talk puede ser adaptación.

if you do a research you can find some copies on ebay, I recommend the book Apropos Yma Sumac, it's a limited edition published in Germany (written in German) I've got my copy in amazon (new) for $30 now thy sell it starting $50 for the used ones, it's 1 of the only 2 books (that I know) about Ms Sumac
