As part of the Jazz Heritage Series, the Airmen of Note recently performed with GRAMMY-winning, Afro-Cuban legend, Ignacio Berroa! This exciting version of Mario Bauza’s “Mambo Inn” was arranged by Hilario Duran. At the age of 11, Mr. Berroa listened to the music of Nat King Cole and Glenn Miller and knew he wanted to play jazz music.
Dizzy Gilespie once said, "The only Latin drummer in the world, in the history of American music that intimately knows both worlds; his native Afro-Cuban music as well as Jazz..." Please enjoy this recent version of "Mambo Inn!"
