Just bought a nice RZ tonight which seems to work fine but didn't come with a manual. So your video was very helpful indeed. Thanks for taking the time to make it!
The shutter control fails. Wind the camera on, press the release and nothing happens! Also the RZ’s film advance mechanism can fail although this tends to occur after significant or heavy-handed use (hence my advice to only buy clean equipment).
@@WorldwideCameraExchange how do you manipulate it on an SD for example. Besides removing the ring & it physically fits, I don’t see any shutter adjustments on lens Or is it fixed a 1/30 or such
If the lens has no shutter ring then it’s an RZ lens and can only be used on RZ series cameras. These cannot be used on any of the mechanical Mamiya RB cameras.
I was hoping for a video on this model! Last November I bought one for 545€ with the 110mm 2.8 and so far I'm quite happy with this camera. I invested some money removing a bit of fungus in the lens and a problem with the sensor that detects the darkslide, but now everything works fine (but yeah I'm a bit worried of potential problems with the electronics). What other lenses are a must for this camera? Is there any option to use a digital back with the non-pro model? Thanks for the video
Both the Mamiya RZ and RB are reliable cameras. However, I’d always recommend the RB because it is mechanical and repairs are less likely to need components that are no longer available.
