I love the TIMING on this. As much as I always loved VH music - I'm a massive prog rock fan too. This gives me the "unexpected" that I always like between notes in ELP, King Crimson, and Yes... but CONCISE the way I love a lot of VH and 80s rock radio. This is it's own thing, clearly, and I can't wait to hear the whole album at last. Take kickass rock back to the masses, Wolf. Love it! Douglas Palm Beach County, FL
I always new he could play alot of instruments but never knew he had that great of a voice box. a superstar in the industry without Dada help. total respect from me
@@johncash5940 100% !!! As Skeptical As I Was Way Back Then About Wolf Stepping Into Fill Michael Anthony's Shoes Wondering If It Was More Eddie Than Wolf Wanting To Go In That Direction. But After Hearing Him Play, I Was Like Alright, Kids Got Chops !!! But NOW ??? After All This ??? I Was Just As Amazed At Hearing MAMMOTH 1 As I Was When I Heard The First Van Halen Album Way Back Then. Well, I Mean As Close As Amazed As You Can Get To The First Time You Ever Heard "Eruption/You Really Got Me" And I'm Not Comparing The 2 Because Wolf Is Obviously A "BEAST" By His Own Right & Didn't Need To Ride On Eddie's Coattails. God Blessed This Kid From The Day He Was Conceived, Giving Him To Two Loving Parents & Being Raised In Such A Privileged Lifestyle But I Think He's Gonna Utilize His God Given Talents & He's Gonna Create His Own "ICONIC" VH v2.0 Legacy !!! I'm Glad To Be Here Just To Watch This Rocket Take Off !!!
@@ChrisP3000x He didn't ask to be born to Eddie VH, he just was. What would you have him do? He has to deal with haters who inevitably compare him to his father or Michael Anthony, something he never asked for, but he was born into music. I'm thankful sometimes that I can make whatever music I want and nobody gives a fuck.
@@midiman5045 I'm sure he will be just fine, He wakes up and makes his own Personal choices just like everyone else does, I believe the Choices a person makes is the main force behind " making your own way " I think he'll be Just FN Fine.
If he went out and kept playing Van Halen songs then people might have a point. But he is putting out a brand new album that he did all on his own. The guy clearly is talented and I’m pulling for him. He seems very humble.
SO, Beautifully put, Young man.... ( And ignore the pic, because I don't want to embarrass this awesome man's phone)..... But father's are everything 💘..... Appreciate them!!! Because you never know when it's the last time you can say 💕 I love you, unfortunately, you may not know what you got until it's gone.... And I 🙏 Pray my father is alive.... I miss him so! So, I totally agree with what you had to say!
I'm Sad to say. I just listened to you for the first time. My loss for sure. I am so literally blown away by your music. Dude...WOW. I'm 58 years old, grew up listening to your Father. Love Him. Love You as well. You are so freaking talented and a breath of FRESH AIR. Thank you for the wonderful tunes. Sincerely, you newest and largest fan. TattKIng
I wonder if his dad ever sat him down and said something like, ‘sing your own songs so you don’t have to deal with lead singers’? If so he really took that to heart! Nice voice and great playing all around!
From what I heard, that applies to bass players, drummers, keyboard players, lead guitarists... He supposedly played every instrument and sang every note on the album
People are saying that Mammoth WVH aren't ready for a stadium tour opening slot for Gn'R. The Hell they ARE! Wolf spent his whole youth getting ready for this moment, plus he already toured extensively with VH and did do stadium shows with them already. His band are already veterans of the touring world and played with big names. So yeah, I think they're more than ready to conquer the world!!! Go Mammoth WVH!!! Make dad proud!! ❤
@@s4lroachclip He's not the only one who does his own stuff in the studio while having musicians they take on tour. There is a long list of those. He's not only a VH, he's also a Bertinelli.
@@SEATTLEPOSEIDON32 are you on crack mate? This is a LIVE video. As in, everything we see IN THIS VERY VIDEO is being played by the people we see. E.g not Wolfie.
@@jeffhiggins8087 this isn't the music from the album though, it's played live. The performance may be synced but you can bet it's the band members playing, not Wolfie doing every track.
ah yes. high quality modern music that ISN'T heavy on electronic stuff. I believe the album is gonna be an absolute smash hit with audiences around the globe, especially since the first few songs on it are absolutely fucking amazing
@@Ottophil bruh. I never said electronic music was bad. it's just not as good as rock in my opinion. but hey, that's just me. if you like it better than rock, that's fine. I'm not judging you for it. but if you're gonna reply rude things to me about not enjoying electronically made music as much as rock, then please just don't say anything at all. it's not wanted, nor is it needed
@@calebrose4607 well, when EVH was setting trends, the “true rock and roll” fans and critics were claiming it couldn’t be rock and roll with a synthesizer. So VH recorded “Jump!”
@@calebrose4607 "I never said electronic music was bad" "electronic bullshit"😂 poor choice of words but I get where your coming from, your just not a fan of rock or metal bands/artists incorporating electronic sounds, production into their music. Td tho its become such a part of rock and metal mainly cuz the rock genre finally hit a sweet spot with electronic influence that it's been more acceptable and almost seems like somethings missing when it's not there even in the background. Not to say that mammoth is leaving something out or something is missing by not having electronic influence or anything but that's just where things are now.
You have the best voice, Wolfie. Such a great talent, I’ve never seen anything like it! There’s nothing you can’t do musically. Your dad is proud of you and so are we. Much respect. ❤️🤘🏼👊🏽👍
@@stoplookingformyname3721 Ha Ha thanks for a laugh, A lot of people are profoundly stupid these days that why guys like Li lWayne and Machine gun Kelly sell records, that's why we have mumble rap and Takashi 69, tik tok proves it. a lot of people are stupid.
I recall hearing that this was extremely important to him because he hates when songs are recorded in the studio that cannot be entirely reproduced live with actual musicians. He wants to do justice to the songs he worked so hard on, and not give a watered-down performance. I wish more musicians thought this way. I have always hated when a band has one guitar player and creates a song with guitar harmonies or solos over rhythm guitars; the live performance is always a letdown.
@@inflameslp311 live. Are they. You hear they do a lot of pre taping. Singing tracks. I think that they worry more about agrand production. Overly on the production. I wish these dudes would just bring me the music. Play it live . No need for the big lights or bombs, fireworks. Just bring the music. I don't know. When I buy a new CD. And play it on my headphones. I don't see all the fireworks bombs and all the other bs they bring to the live show. Just the music.
@@scottmcclure4153 Thats what I am talking about, out of the glass castle, back to the streets in the garage!!! Guitar to tubes, no tricky digital bs sounds, just overdrive some reverb or delay, no rack gear just straight up jamming. This is over-processed, pop music, sounds like all the other pop music, especially nickelback
Exactly. This here, this song, this album, getting on the GnR tour, what Wolfy is doing is rock n roll HISTORY. The next chapter. I'm honored as a VH fan to be witnessing all of this. Go Wolfy and Mammoth! \m/
I'm 51 and graduated HS in 1988. I absolutely worshiped Edward Van Halen. He was the reason I started playing guitar in 1986. The first few songs of Mammoth WVH, I was listening for that ghost of Eddie. About 4 songs in, I stopped and really started to appreciate an album that rock music needs about now. Trying to find the words to describe how I feel about it. 1) I absolutely love it. It's amazing. 2) It has its roots in old school rock, but is not a throw back. It's fresh. I bridges the gap between me and my 22 year old son. I hope that makes sense. It makes my heart happy. Was on the fence to get GNR tickets for when they come to town, but now will definitely go.
Thanks Wolfie ! Just made this old man's day better, I clicked on it as soon as the notification popped up. Forever life time fan of the Van Halens here in the Midwest, sounding great ....love and peace brother
Wolfie's music is outstanding and his own ,after seeing him shred note for note at TH tribute he put himself at top tier in my opinion.Great stuff man!!
Great to see you doing these live tracks with the other guys, Wolf! Ronnie, Jon, Frank, and Garret are killing it! Hope to see you guys out on the road!!
This is turning out to be a great day for drops. Ooohhhh, I'm counting the days till the release of what I think is gonna be the best rock offering of '21...
Wolf is amazing! A living legacy and beyond, his own person, style and music. Best, new favorite band for me and I am a big fan of Eddie also. What a beautiful Father and son ❣️
This just kicks ass. My highschool noon hour was spent with Van Halen in the tape deck- This would have been right there with it. WVH is his own man. ❤️👍
I'm blown away!! Your lyrics, your song choices. I'm so proud of you!! You've inspired the hell out of me. Your dad would be so happy to see what your doing now. Keep on keeping on bro.
I was prepared to not like this too much, based on what Wolfie said in advance - but this is absolutely KILLER SHIT!! Love his voice and this is a high quality lyric and arrangement. Rock on, WVH \m/
Lol me2..blows my mind the talent, will always love vh n ed..now we have rock back with wolfie taking the reigns, his way..omg amazing..wasnt going to gnr till i saw mammoth added...bought my tix for fenway park aug 3..cant wait!
Who the hell would give this a thumbs down? Probably the ones who want him to play Van Halen songs for the rest of his life! Saw Mammoth WVH last week, they rocked the house down! Love YOUR music Wolf! 🥰
Damn! Awesome!! 🙌🏼 This is THE best rock album released in a very long time!! Pre-ordered. Loving the drops! It’s like Christmas with each one! Thank you!!
Finally rock music worth listening too!! So excited to hear all of the great music that’s going to continue for us to enjoy. Best of luck to Wolf and his band! I wish you lots of success!
Absolutely...also one of the things EVH rarely got credit for was that harmony he was ALWAYS singing underneath Michael Anthony and on point especially the first 10 years of VH!
I have not heard one bad song from this album. I imagine it isn't easy to be in your shoes sometimes. You go Wolf, you be you! You are very talented and I love your voice. Your dad would be/is so f'n proud of you.
agreed, I'm not a GNR fan.......would'nt it be cool if WVH blew them away every night like VH did opening for Journey and Black Sabbath? Full circle.....
@@brianpowell7333 let’s not get carried away here. VH was playing together for four plus years in clubs and honing their skills before opening for Sabbath, Wolf hasn’t played a full show with his band yet
@@MrDuds1984 I agree with the premise of "being challenged" ..GNR absolutely will be challenged and maybe then some, your point is absolutely valid ..for now. VH made a career off of SMOKING the headliner in the beginning.
I hope wolf does at least a little nod to VH. Even if it's just a riff snuck into one of his songs. Like it or not, he's now the official ambassador for his family. Alex is retired, I think.

Killer! Some great musicians in the touring band too... my man Garrett has always been one of my favorites. My wife isn't the biggest rock fan but she'll go just to watch him beat up on some drums! :-)
Wolf is crazy talented. His potential is endless. He could have ridden on his father's coat tails to a certain morbid curiosity and certain failure when the curiosity no longer held anybody's interest, but no, the kid did it the way it should be done. All on his own. And he sounds great! Good for you Wolfgang, you deserve every good thing coming your way. You're not a cheap imitation or a sellout. I love you're voice and musicianship. Your songs are solid and they have substance. Though I'm 57 years old, I will be a fan of yours as long as I live, and as long as you are releasing your brand of music. You own it dude. Long live rock!
