For me this video ended at the critical point! How do you best apply a DWR to the jacket? What DWR do you recommend? Do you let the jacket dry completely after hanging it up and then apply DWR? Do you apply any heat to the jacket after applying the DWR to make the DWR more effective - if so how? @Mammut you seem to be so cautious in your videos that you won't give us the crucial information we came looking for! If you feel you can't recommend specific products, please form a meaningful partnership with a manufacturer you trust on your products, the secrecy is not helpful to your customers (exactly the same content applies to your walking boots video). You can iron it on a low heat. Always read the manufacturers instructions. But most will allow a cool iron. I have a tumble drier now, but before I used to use an iron, I always protected the jacket by putting a tea-towel in between the iron and the jacket
I most of times do not have a Tumble Drier either (I do not like it for Gore Tex). Then I iron the Gore Tex on a gentle setting. After I test the DWR Capability spraying some water on it. If necessary I reapply the DWR. I spray he DWR liquid over the garment. After doing so you are required to repeat the IRONING PROCESS., do it again. By HEATING UP by the Ironing (as well as by Tumble Drier) is the NECESSARY PROCESS to reactivate the DWR Capability in Gore Tex. - as to Spraying a DWR Liquid on the Garment I am relying on SIMPRAX TEXTILE WATERPROOFING. It also restores the breathability of your textiles. The SIMPRAX Spray-on has a great vantage: it does not require the HEATING UP of the Garment (then no Ironing no Tumble Drier) afterwards. Trust me... I am an Antarctica Ice Climber and Explorer, I own some very expensive Hardshell Jackets as the MAMMUT NORDWAND PRO ones, I truly want they keep on with their genuine DWR features! @@spyderlive I wanna use an iron too but im a little confused…so after i take the garment out of the washing machine and its soaking wet, I apply DWR spray and then Iron it? Or? Thanks
@@atefsimaan3034 Right... it does not have to be so wet.... let it dry a bit, a lot... when still moist but not dripping any longer you Spray it. Then when dried you IRON MILDLY, with a white neutral cotton fabric between Iron and the Clothing...
@@atefsimaan3034 Well there are several ways: I now spray the SIMPRAX (German). With this product... NO IRONING NEEDED. - Te Ironing is applied o Warm Up the Chemical Moleculas... so they Cathalize. With some Products as SIMPRAX this is done by Normal Drying.. no Ironing.
