The first successful flight with a Glider George Cayley circa 1853. The Wright Bothers were the first one to fly using engines (dubbed heavier than air flight)in 1903. In fact Lighter than Air Flight was in 1783 with the first hot-air balloon built in 1783 by Joseph and Etienne Montgolfier in France. Motion picture camera's were invented in 1845. We've been flying longer than we've been taking moving pictures of doing so.
I remember I was learning about the wright brothers on something in computer class and we got cool math time but I was so fascinated by what I was learning about that I went to Google to learn more about them. I got in trouble and kicked off the computer for that lmfao
There’s also one more, nearly a thousand years ago, a man named abas ibn firnas tried to fly by gliding off a cliff, with large make shift wings, in modern day spain which was under rule of the Islamic Caliphate, he kind of succeeded but fell down and injured his legs, though it was worth the attempt as it almost worked.
Shout to all the people who made the ambitious and early attempts to accomplish the dream of flight. We already know the answers about how to do it, so it can look pretty silly watching it. But if it wasnt for their trial and error and finding out what doesnt work, we may have been set back a while to find what DOES work. Either way, its a brave and ambitious quest. You dont know what you dont know. You'll never move foward if you dont start somewhere. Its kinda like seeing what people in the 50s predicted our technology to be now and it looks silly. But it was interesting and inspiring to discuss. It was a goal to look forward to, even if it didnt end up as predicted. Even if the early pioneers in the quest for human life are still pioneers that walked so we could run. Even if they were wrong, it gave us the clues we needed to get it right! Its also interesting to see the thought process and having the ideas develop over time. And im so happy that their dream came true and that flying is standard now. ❤collectively, as people, even in the past 100 years, we have come SOOO far. Our recent generations have achieved so much. 2024 is unrecognizable to 1924. And our elders got to witness this CRAZY transformation.
Yeah they didn’t add him to history because India was under colonial control. They even changed the education system which says he made the first ever plane.
The fact is that the Wright Brothers actually didn't make the first airplane, they were the first to show it off, the ACTUAL first airplane was made by some guy in India known as Shivkar Bapuji. (Kinda Fact checked)
1st plane wasn't invented by wright brothers...it was invented by an indian named "Shivkar Bapuji Talpade".Its just that our hero remained an unsung warrior and wasn't given the credit he deserved❤
Nah because some attempts made to fly are useed till today like the windmill type there is a new type of drone(can be a plane) which can fly when spinned at 3000 rpm
I like how we went from the wright flyer(it is a aircraft not at all a plane cause a plane is a aircraft that takes off under its own weight and the x11 or x12 manned missle is a aircraft not a plane cause it took off from a b52 and the wright flyer had a small launching mecanism with a heavy cement block that launches it so it is classified as a aircraft not a plane so it is the first aircraft not the first plane that goes to the wright flyer two)
😀 Man on rollerblades trying to fly . how long have rollerblades been around ? That video clip looked like it was from the 1920s. I thought rollerblades was a recent thing !
