Yes! I AM baking for the occasion. I am making not just one but THREE of my family's traditional Easter Lamb Cake made from a cast iron mold that belonged to my paternal grandmother. After baking it gets covered with white buttercream and flaked coconut, with a black jelly bean cut in half for the eyes and the small end of a pink jelly bean for the tip of the nose. The inside of the ears gets a little dab of pink icing to look more realistic. Then it is set on a platter, surrounded by shredded coconut (tinted green) and scattered Jelly Belly jelly beans. YUM! I can hardly wait to cut into our cake!
Yolanda has raised my expectations very high, and its hard to find any other cake decorator who soothes my OCD about cakes...I love that you cut them open, it's like closure hahaha
I get this feeling Joshua is the kind of guy who would get a male baby chick and spend a long, long time waiting for him to start laying eggs before an important detail occurred to him...

Baking challenged here. cooking since I was 10, I mean cooking, like dinner and stuff. At 60+ I'm done, unless its like wicked fun stuff. But sure do like watching you! It looks so easy here, BUT I know better!! And I learned that the thing I love in my kitchen is called an offset spatula and comes in other sizes. Yes!!! I'm on the hunt now. Always frosted using a straight flat one and it just didn't pan out. (mol...get it? I know, baaad.). SO watching Josh do cakes is funny as hell, and makes me crave sugar at 3 a.m. but I'm blissfully far from any all night stores.
Brown sugar curd! My mom makes 'pecan-less pecan pie' for my brother who doesn't like nuts, and it's just that pecan pie filling with without the pecans. Never thought of putting that in a cake!

Hi Joshua. I’m Jade. I’m from Australia and I have an auto-immune disease called Coeliac. Was just wondering if you could maybe create a Gluten free cake for all the coeliac’s out there. American and Australian Coeliac standards are different. Here in Australia we are not able to eat Wheat, Barley, Rye as well as oats. But in America you can eat oats. Would love to have/try a Gluten free Coeliac Australia approved recipe!! Also do your recipes have measurements for the metric system for Australia, because I’m not sure about those measurements in Australia? 😂 Lots of love, Jade xx ☺️

Alice Maria So he can choose whatever he likes the most and what suits the cake more. And he probably wanted to incorperate the big one but it didn't fit. It's art and art never (at least most of the time) goes exatly how it was planned ;)
Hi Joshua, My boys (ages 11 & 7) and I really love your channel! Your yellow cake looks fairly dense. Would it be suitable for use in a 3D cake mold? I like to make lamb cakes at Easter but hate the dry pound cake the manufacturer of the mold suggests, so I haven't made one in years. If not, could you suggest a recipe that would work?
