This has to be one of the most well thought out basements I've seen. So many times I've seen people throw a ton of money at a basement only for it to look and feel like a tacky game room. This man cave oozes simple luxury and understated elegance. Great job!
Thanks for your kind words. It really is an awesome space and the result of thoughtful design. “Understated elegance” is a good way to describe it. All the best.
this is about $120,000 that will never come back to the resale value of the comparable cost. It's a shame he was cheap on the tv's samsung is pure crap
@@timcampbell6581 I'm remodeling my home. New floors, and doing a gray walls. This video was really inspiring and you got good taste man. Idk if you had help decorating and choosing everything, but dude... I'm not a jealous man... but I'm kinda jealous of what I'm seeing hahaha
The cigar room alone has inspired me towards home ownership. And I'm from Chicago now in LA but la ain't got no love with median home prices now at 600k!
You have single-handedly changed the face of what a man cave truly is. This is an absolute masterpiece. I love everything about this including your thought process in building this. Brilliant work!
Man this is OUTSTANDING !!! I could spend the entire winter in that basement. The bar looks so authentic, I was expecting Norm from Cheers to be sitting at the bar.
Liberty Thanks! Every last inch was designed for fun and entertainment. Winters are long in Chi town, so I will be camping down there. To many more beers...and I’m going t9 assume “Norm’s” shapely stature. Ha! Thanks for you post/kind words. It’s appreciated.
mso008 Glad you picked up on that. You may be the first. The space attempts to be all those things as well as functionally practical. The best compliment of the space is that we use it all the time! Thanks for the shout out!
Your room makes me want to wear a pinstripe suit sit in that chair smoking a fine cigar and with a bourbon by my side.... congratulations this is awesome
NOTAPRO natAPro HA! I was looking at “smoking jackets” on Amazon the other day. Lol, I thought it would be fun to keep three or four in the closet for when my buddies come over. Why not have a little fun and be a little ridiculous now and then? Oh, to be a kid again!
I love that it's manly AND classy. Not just tacky sports posters and jerseys plastering the wall. You have a theme (Chicago) with historic photos of the city and sports history. Very well designed and easy on the eyes. This is living. I'd pay good money to spend an hour with some bourbon and a Miles Davis record in this place.
Rallies Unlimited Thanks! You are spot on regarding the planning. Having a roadmap and then executing on every detail was the key. Thanks again...glad you like my space!
I’ve watched this video about 100 times with full envy. My wife loves the Cubs and of course she was completely jealous of it. We are both major cigar smokers and bourbon whiskey drinkers as well. Great job they did one day that will be ours too.
I would definitely have to agree with the comments below, it has to either be a straight HATER or a woman that is mad because her husband saw this and wants one for himself. This man cave is BOSS!! I know I can't afford something like this now, but definitely gives me something to aspire to. Well done sir!
Hi Nathan! I founded an e-commerce and wholesale distribution company. We have since sold the business and I’m currently enjoying life as best I can. All the best!
No that’s not what you want to do or else you would just do it. You want what he has except you don’t want to work for it like he did, you just want it for free.
This is a true gentleman's lounge. People have a tendency to be too gawdy and or go overboard with the deco but you good sir have nailed the perfect balance. Now the real question...can we be friends? lol Oh I can't leave without commenting on the cigar area, I can't even find an establishment that sets their air quality up proper for a legit cigar lounge. If it's smothered in cigar smoke then you're doing a disservice to whatever stick you're smoking on cause of it. Great job with the purification!
gil Thanks. I appreciate your thoughtful and positive reply. We really did try to find a balance. I sought a sophisticated “man cave” if you will...but not a “man grave”. The air purification was key to the project. The whole room would have been dead from the start if our strategy didn’t work. Thank God, that all systems are go and everything is working incredibly well. There’s no play book per se, so I’m extremely happy with the end result. Here’s wishing you all the best! Thanks again! And yes...join me for a cigar! Ha!
The party would never end down there. It actually makes for a great at home bar/lounge the way its laid out. I'd offer it up as an intimate space for modest gatherings to trusted neighborhood associates....for a modest facilitation fee of course. ;)
Great job, as a tradesman and builder myself. I can see the attention to detail and all of the work that has been involved in that build. Starts with your designer and they definitely hit it out of the park. BTW, Go Bears and Go Cubs!
Beautiful design, very, very well executed! An absolute first class job. The use of space is really fantastic, hats off to the designers! Very nicely partitioned still feeling wide open. The space has got class, it’s got elegance, it’s got the inviting comfort of a mans space. Very well done people, very well done!
Luke S Thanks! That’s very nice of you to say and high praise. Yes indeed, the designer (Rae Duncan) out of Chicago absolutely crushed it! Thanks again.
I think I am just going to have to keep watching this video to feel like I live her. You are one step away from having this be the perfect apocalypse bunker. I can imagine the vibe down here with a few games going, or even just some styled music. AMAZAING
Absolutely Stunning to say the least. This project is probably worth more than my cookie cutter home in Chicago. Kudos to you and that your vision came alive. Be well and enjoy.
@@timcampbell6581 Hey Tim, hoping you can help me. Kindly and respectfully asking where I can find a black & white picture about the same size is the one you have on your wall in this video? Any help will be appreciated brother. thank you much sir.
I’m awestruck. Completely amazing design and execution. The attention to detail is beyond belief. Well done and congratulations. I bet you’ve been waiting (and working) your entire life to create something like this, so way to make your a dream a reality!
Hey Scott! Thanks for your thoughtful and kind comments. I agree, the details all came together and make the space awesome. My wife and I have owned and built a few homes over the years. I always “dug” out extra deep basements in anticipation of building then out...but we never did. Now our kids are grown and we ALL enjoy the space. Thanks again for commenting.
@@timcampbell6581 our goal is to build our forever home in the next 5 years. A beautiful bar & cigar lounge is definitely on my bucket list. Air filtration is definitely a concern. Seems like the rabbit air seems to be the go-to for people. How has your air filtration worked out for you? Keeping it sealed off to that 1 room with doors that stay closed definitely seems to help I’m sure, and no carpet or materials that hold smell I’m sure helps a lot as well.
I just moved into a brand new house... It has a good size basement... Everything in your video is what I want to put in my basement... I don't think I could afford half of it but it gives me great design ideas... I'm going to have a theater room and whatever else I can fit down there... And still stay in some kind of a budget... Yours looks absolutely amazing
I think what gives the whole place a really expensive and kind of unobtainable look is the wainescoting. This can be done for a lot less than you think. It looked really great.
Much more than a man cave for sure. This is mist men's fantasy. Absolutely stunning. Those guys got it right all the way. If I knew how to, I'd be jealous.
I’ve seen hundreds of mansions, houses and mancaves online and TV. This is thee best, not that the others weren’t great, but it’s always something I would change or prefer. THIS IS DONE PERFECTLY! It’s like you had me in mind. Is this mine? 🙌🏾🔥❤️💦💯 #perfection
V T WOW! That’s extremely high praise...THANK YOU! Most every aspect of the space looks great and functions even better. We’ve been enjoying the basement for over a year now and I can’t think of much of anything we would do differently. All the best and thanks again for the positive comment.
The most awesome room-like-a-bar that I've seen in my life !!!! But you need (because it's mandatory) the picture of the dogs playing poker in a huge size.
Amazing man cave! Sadly it comes up short in the audio department. In ceiling speakers, no matter how expensive, just not on the same level as box. Besides your audio, everything else is masterfully done. The woodwork there is incredible. Amazing work.
meandevil Yeah...I hear you. For my needs it’s great, but I can see how it doesn’t quite hit the mark for folks who are into great sound and home theatre. Glad you like the space overall.
Truly inspirational, and yes, I’m a sucker for high tech and audio. Nonetheless, great attention to detail and if there’s one thing a real man cave has, that’s a kegerator. 🍻
No it does not need to cost 300,000 to 500,000. You could do it for $50,000 if you wanted to. It really depends on what materials, finish and products are selected. I have seen people do rooms like that for $50,000 because they have done work them self, brought in professionals and have also changed things later.
I mean, really…what do I need to go upstairs for?!? This space has it all. I’ve see a lot of basement renovations. This is the best one I think I’ve ever seen. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’m watching this as I sit in my garage where I have four club chairs setup and a tv mounted in the wall, in total awe of this basement of my dreams. Maybe I should get a second job and start saving so I can have something like this someday. Thanks for sharing!
Pensive Piper. Anyplace I can hang out w/friends is a good time to enjoy a smoke. In fact, getting ready to head over to a friends house now. Glad you like my lounge...it really is great. Thanks for commenting and all the best.
Amazing job btw. I am planning on my own basement right now and would love to take a few ideas and inspiration from your man cave. A couple of questions....approx. how many square feet is this? and can you provide link or details on your wine rack manufacturer? Thanks and amazing job once again!!
Tim Campbell maybe you already said it and I missed it..but what was the pice tag on this build I’d like to do it to my basement....feel free to DM it to me if you don’t wanna put it out there publicly
Any way to get a video of the ventilation used in your cigar room? I’m framing my gentleman’s lounge now and have not nailed down exactly what I’m going to do. Would love to hear and see what you did
Michael Baron Your state probably has a legal code for what a business standard ventilation. Find the volume of your room and how often the air should be replaced (EX: 1600ft^3, once per minute) and you use an air pump that draws out 1600 cubic feet per minute. The state code is a good guideline for keeping fresh breathing air in the room all the time for a smoking lounge
Whew!!! Man this is absolutely amazing!!! Everything that I want in my gentleman's cave. You killed on every level. Congratulations brother!!! One day soon I can be on this level. Thanks and God Bless!!
If you don't mind sharing and for purposes of budgeting and planning, what did this run you total cost to get it to this stage; and are you finished or adding anything else to it?
When I heard that the family loves to entertain I about choked. Mine wife und kinder shall not enter. Any women will be well paid hookers. Any kids can play in the yard. Otherwise you may just as well you can use this space to stock up on Amway. Otherwise great video . 👍
SimonCrowne LOL. I had to say that in order get buy in from my wife. "Honey, trust me...the basement will be great for all those friends and family parties". HA!
@@timcampbell6581 Good one Simon haha Tim, I've helped finish many high end basements but you win. It has been my experience that most wives and children don't like basements. I'm crossing my fingers for you. Please excuse me, I'm going to watch.this again.
I've always thought it would be cool to have a cigar lounge in a house with a game room and a bar. You not only have it all...it just blends really well and is very elegant. Like you were on a 20th floor of a building downtown.
Jamie W You obviously do not know what we are talking about! you have no dog in this hunt ! Cannabis has never killed anyone in it's over 10,000 plus years of known use!!!
Dont care what it cost, that basement is outstanding! Perfect enjoyment for a party, or an evening by yourself with a stick watching the game. Awesome man, jealous.
Thanks Josh! You are spot on. It’s been great for parties and anytime I want to enjoy a cigar with my buddies. Glad we didn’t cut corners. Thanks again.
I'm open mouthed watching this. I simply can't believe how tasteful it is. Every minute detail is exactly what it should be. Totally blown away. Congrats.
