He already paid for that wall mounted garage opener for the middle garage door and for a few bucks more he could have had the tracks installed so the door would rise up along the vertical inside wall and a little short track might have intruded into the garage about three or four feet. It wouldn’t work for the outboard door but it would work for the middle door. He paid for all that high head room so he might as well take advantage of every inch for a future car lift or perhaps just an indoor basketball game on rainy winter day. Besides you can never have enough head room. Nice build what is the cost difference between red weld up over red bolt up?
Great point James! We do offer and recommend high lift or follow the roof tracks depending the scenario! You could be looking at a $3-$5 cost difference per sq ft but the time line for bolt up is longer.

How did he connect the Plywood to the red iron? I’m almost ready for my 30x60 weld up and need to know that and: 1. Does a lean to count against your bldg square footage… I can go 2000 sqft max. 2. Whats the minimum eave height & roof pitch for a loft? Can i make it happen with 12’ & 2x12 pitch?
You can bolt right up to the c-channels but if you don’t want to you can add another line of channels on the outside of beams. 1. Typically for permits, the lean to does count against bldg sq ft max 2. Depending the height clearance you want. I would recommend minimum 16 ft to have around 7-8 ft head clearance on bottom and top. Always account for your floor joists and finished floor taking away clearance. Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, we do not service Florida. Currently, we serve Texas and surrounding states! This building has a 12' sidewall height with a 4/12 roof pitch, so it reaches a height of 21.17' at the peak :)
Before or after depends on preference. I personally agree with you,but I can see what you mean on the difficulty of installing on a non flat surface. I appreciate the insight!
