I'd personally say (about the title) that both are absolutely not comparable considering what their music aims to be. Both are incredible in their own ways.
Glad to see you went in depth on my responses! I think considering what you said, it really just boils down to overall what we look for in music. Definitely feel like from someone who prioritizes and wants to hear innovative fresh music, Bridges Between would be up someone's alley vs. someone who just wants top tier melodies and musicality and doesn't care as much about innovation would opt for say Man Cub's project being preferable.
I honestly really agree with your take on the musicality of BB, sometimes, I feel like the emotion gets suddenly interrupted by a fill or sound design wonder from Au5, and I mean, I’m fine with that, cos it’s what makes him special, but it used to be my best LP of the year until I really considered that aspect. Like, AISYSM is a way better project, even tho I’ve got more playlist adds from Au5’s lp, cos LH really started innovating a LOT on it (take ILYETLYG for example, my fav song of the year) while still keeping their sound, their songwriting and overall making the whole project coherent
glad to see you getting my take (and you even used my temporary pre split mcat discord name😅) but yeah human was something that wasn't even on my radar due to nitepunk not being one of those trap artists that had caught my eye yet. human was a good improvement on what I had heard but the standouts from that album have their flaws and I think it comes down to your tonal preferences and what you want to see in an album and Aetherborne checks all those boxes for me. great video!
I thought that the art of change was a lackluster and underwhelming album as a whole. Really loved Downside Up, but when Droeloe introduced the TikTok voice for the in-between tracks, it was kinda corny. At least I understood and appreciated the central theme that was being presented. About my take on 2 Ruff, I do agree that Baddadan did wonders to the Edm sphere, but for brevity sake, the rest of the mix just exists without bringing something new to the table. We'll truly see how well this ages if there's a sudden uptick of d&b being played at Lost Lands and other festivals in North America in 2024. Blanke's aeon:mode is step forward but dancefloor dnb has always been the most accessible and comercial-friendly.
Yeahh i agree with you on the voice memos, esp the tiktok voice that came in midway which was so damn corny. I guess not everyone would've enjoyed the constant memos Anyways great video again ‼️
