He was extremely drunk. Depending on what kind of drunk you are, you might've had some slight chance of doing the same thing. I know I get calm and freindly when I'm extremely drunk but I also know there's people out there that get dangerous tendencies. Like the drunks that get angry and attack their family or ones that literally just go insane and take off their clothes and run around. Those are the people who shouldn't drink because they can't handle it.

A couple years ago a 19 year old kid shot one of those mortar fireworks of his head and died and his family said how smart he was.... you can feel those take off out of the tube from 10 feet away through your shoes. That's allot of force no smart person would think it would be a good idea to put it on your head
This guys nephew posted on reddit and it really sucked to hear his experience with this all. He said his uncle was a good man just a bit wild and that seeing everyone happy and making fun of him broke his heart. Really makes you think about stuff you say not thinking it will effect anyone
People stood around and watched this happen? The whole damn pack of onlookers were just as ignorant for not stepping in and stopping this from happening. Alcohol use can affect the brain and body in complex ways, potentially altering one’s behaviors and leading to negative outcomes. Impaired judgement, though difficult to quantify, can lead one to engage in risky behavior and lead to poor outcomes.

Nice comment. But hard to tell w/o details we don't need. This struck me as a long-time EMT and Trauma Center/ER worker ... I saw a lot of horrors but other than some I will not mention limited to cases brought in, what I always recall (with some mild discomfort) from working the streets was a 14 year old boy who was "playing Rambo" with a steak knife. Reportedly he left it on a sofa, forgot about it then sat down. Jammed all the way to the handle into his gluteus maximus (NICE choice if you had to be stabbed, however). Little to no blood. Nothing to do but "stabilize and ship" (all penetrating objects should NOT be pulled out like the movies). Just the LOOK on that poor boy's face ... and the sympathetic "sucking of lemons" for us. So glad THAT comes up first vs other things. Plus after seeing so much, you DO get a bit desenseitized. PS: Worked the same ER as well; boy was treated and released within a hour. But bet HE still remembers!
As a retired firefighter I have to add the fire department has much less of a problem with emotional turmoil from seeing trauma like this. The really difficult situations is when we had to deal with children, especially infants. But firefighters always work together as a team. You have someone to discuss the situation with, a process called "debriefing". It really helps knowing weeks or even years later you can talk about what you experienced with people who were also there. Police, on the other hand, are often alone in their patrol cars and have limited time to really relax and just talk on and on about something that is bothering them. We are lucky with so much time together in the fire house. It is a tough job, emotionally, but we have much lower rates of divorce and alcoholism than police in my experience.
Poor wife and kids. Not just due to the horror of seeing that and losing their husband and dad, but the embarrassment and shame that that jackass has saddled them with.
But then of course it could have been the wife egging him on, or the wife is just as stupid. Stupid spreads and usually when someone this close to you fuck's up this bad you're partially at fault

Maybe he was taking some type of medication and drank too much. Wouldn’t surprise me these days they hand out prescriptions to almost anyone and most people drink. Drinking causes more deaths than all other drugs combined. Either legalize everything or make alcohol illegal
