Mike and Teri Cooper went to Mexico for a quick four-night getaway. While Mike was bodysurfing in the waves Teri saw a monster wave break over him in the ocean. Mike was an athlete and former surfer so she wasn't worried. at first until she eventually noticed a man floating facedown about 300 ft out in the ocean. His body was like seaweed. The lifeguards rescued his body and when he was back on shore we realized he had drowned. He was unconscious and his spinal cord was damaged from slamming into the seafloor headfirst. Mike was paralyzed below the neck and his lungs were full of water.
A doctor on the beach began giving him CPR. An ambulance took Mike to the hospital and he was not expected to live through the night. Teri continually prayed and sent out texts asking for prayer. Teri ended up remembering something from a Bill Johnson sermon she had heard about praising God in the midst of her circumstances. As she was crying out to God, she heard these exact words, "Mike is in heaven with me. He doesn't want to come back but I am sending him to you".
This is the amazing story of how God raised Mike back to life after drowning off the coast of Mexico.
