In 2004, FIFA confirmed that China is the cradle of football. The same year, Li Weipeng joined the game. Li was born in Linzi, the birthplace of cuju. He began to play football at the age of 9, and switched to cuju at 17.

Doing a papper about the history of football in Great Britain and I'm now writting about the various forms of "football"through the centurys around the world. It's fascinating how football is part of people's lives since de late medieval age. The "soule" in France, the "calcio fiorentino" in Italy, the "Folk Football" in England, the "Cuju" in China, the "Sepak Takraw" in Thailand, the various rituals with football in the Mayan and Aztecan civilizations are all an amazing example of how the world evolved around a ball.

To all ignorant, does the London already existed during the Han dynasty??? Han dynasty soldiers play cuju as a way of getting fit. And the sports was only came to the knowledge of the west when western missionaries travel to china and saw the sports usually played by imperial soldiers and households. Those missionaries copy the game when they returned to their country.

Bullshit. English contact with China was negiligible up until the 17th century by which point Cuju was almost extinct. English mob football on the other hand developed amongst peasants and had been played since at least the 12th century.

Cuju is nothing like football exept a ball is kicked: in cuju unlike football the ball cannot touch the ground, the opposing teams don't interact and there are no goals just a single hole where the ball has to be passed throught like in volleyball. And there were already ancient versions of games about kicking a ball in europe, no one copied cuju from the chinese

@@gsurtos6588 We can assume that "kicking a circular object" was at least invented twice since the Americans also played it before Europeans colonised the continent, but there's a good chance that a game that was recorded in antiquity simply spread outwards to Europe, like most things, rather than being re-invented there independently. Remember that many things, even as simple as the wheel, were invented only once by humans. So your assumption sounds as bold as it sounds chauvinistic.

@@okpo2596 No, alot of things the West had was built on top of things from the East. This includes things like the Islamic Golden Age. Things like Algebra and Arabic numbers. The scientific method. The Europeans wouldn't have been able to colonize the world without gun power. The first gun, rockets, and explosives were invented in China. How would European explorers circumnavigate without a compass? They got that from the Chinese. The current way to make paper is from the Chinese. Although there were many form of 2d ways to write on, the way the Chinese made paper is easier to mass produce out of a wider range of materials. The Greeks gained alot from the Ancient Egyptians as well. It's certainly true that many modern advancements are attributed to Europeans, reality is the advancements and dissemination of technology isn't purely from Europeans.
