I'm so happy Kona and her sibling was saved. Kona got the family she always deserved. I hope her sibling was just as lucky.

The man who gave up those beautiful puppies is the one who is blind. He couldn't see the potential and the special life that these puppies had waiting for them. I'm very used to being around deaf people and am now losing my own hearing. I've known Sign Language for decades and wear hearing aids. Deafness is not something that should stop anyone from living a a full life, including an animal. My first reaction to the video was to think of ways to work with the puppy. The owners are doing that so beautifully! It was a joy to watch!

You posted this video 4 minutes ago and for 4 minutes of the video tears rolled down my face with such happiness for this amazing beautiful dog and for all the love, training and patience you and your family have given her. Thank you for letting us all see how beautiful these animals are no matter if they are deaf or blind and any obstacles they must endure. ❤❤❤❤❤

The most special cat I ever had the joy of living with was deaf. We developed our own sign language. She was ditched in my yard in the snow. She had FELV and FIP (both fatal) and the vet gave her 2 weeks to live. She lived 12 years. THAT is the power of love, and I thank this wonderful couple for saving Kona (and everyone who saves one of these beautiful souls)!

I had a dog that went blind at 6 and at the end of his life (15) went deaf. There are ways to communicate and I always tapped the floor and let him sniff me so I didn’t scare him. This video made me cry. Please for each bad, uncaring person let there be at least one good one. My current pocket pit is only 5 and has spinal issues, no cartilage in her hips and knees and aortic stenosis (a heart disease) She is the happiest most loving dog I’ve had.

My Aussie lived 16 years, and toward the end of her life, her hearing left her. I am so grateful that this wonderful, intelligent Aussie understood hand signals, because her deafness was so easily overcome. We miss her so much.

I love that she not only took this wonderful dog, but took the time to train her. Being able to communicate with the animals in your life is vital to keeping them safe and ensuring they're happy. Before you know it, they'll be training you, just as my beloved huskies did.

The man that gave up on these 2 puppies was probably a backyard breeder that only cares about how much he can make off puppies and with these 2 deaf puppies he would rather put them to sleep than bother with them. These types of people should never own animals ever. Thank you to the vet for saving them and this amazing couple for rescuing her and giving her everything she deserves. She is thriving. I hope the 2nd puppy is also. I wish more people loved animals like this couple. They saw a beautiful soul and loved her unconditionally and the puppy did the same. Many, many years of love and fun together.

She is an incredibly pretty dog…. So affectionate…. What a gift!

My deaf/visuallly-impaired baby is 14. Just as sweet as the day we got him. He was dumped at the shelter from a back-yard breeder. He is also a double-dapple. My baby is almost totally blind now from cataracts. He has been attacked 3 times from dogs not in our family, because he doesn't see/hear proper dog manners between dogs. So we learned to be very careful which dogs he meets. He is such a blessing!

I rescued a deaf boxer cross 2 years ago who had been in kernels for nearly 3 years. She is a wonderful dog she did have a lot of behaviour issues but this was due to people treating her badly. She would jump every time you touched her now she loves affection. Great off the lead but a cow on the lead lol. I would not think twice about rescuing another deaf dog. When I first got my three legged fur baby my Mom actually asked me why they "didn't just put him down"... I think this is the thought process with many people. What a sweet story about a gorgeous pup. We had a female fox terrier who was so sweet. In her older years she developed breast cancer, diabetes & blindness. She was such a sweet girl & once she got the house mapped out she was golden! My husband would take her on walks in the forest & it was true in her case that her nose went double time, lol. He would occasionally have to get her attention back on the walk. The only thing she had in her previous home was outside in a cage next to a big wild cat who she sported a scab down the side of her face from the cat. My husband & coworker had stopped at the guys house. The poor dog was terrified & kept crying. The man said that if anyone wanted her they could just take her. No other questions were asked, so my hubby walked up to her cage took her to his work truck & got out of there. The old guy stood there with his lower jaw on the ground, lol. He looked at Doug’s coworker & said he couldn’t believe that had happened & intimated that there should be an exchange of money, but he can home with her. Our son was home (I was at work) & he bathed her. She was his dog & when she was diagnosed diabetic he learned to give her her insulin shots. She was a wonderful dog & was no problem, she was a fast learner, lol. We had her until she told us that she was tired so we helped get her to the rainbow bridge 🌈 & we cried with broken hearts, but we knew it was what she needed 💔 RIP Savanna ❤️✌️☮️

These pups are COMPLETELY due to breeder greed. This happens as a result of breeding a merle on merle gene. The breeders get the coat color and eye color that brings in the $$$, however breeding two dogs that possess any of the merle variants may produce "double merle" offspring (homozygous) which may be prone to health problems. Double merle dogs may have auditory, ophthalmologic, skeletal, and other defects and will transmit a merle variant to all of their offspring. Breeders should have to be licensed and regulated imo. This breeder, putting down puppies that don't meet his financial, is not morally better than a puppy mill.
