Man Got So Drunk He Confessed Murdering His Landlord

In December 2008, a man named William Blodgett vanished under mysterious conditions.Blodgett's son, Greg, reported him missing on January 3, 2009, after no one in his family was able to reach him for more than 10 days.
Police investigated and learned Blodgett reportedly had an issue with his tenant, later identified as Peralta, around that time and tried to evict him, a police report cited in the criminal affidavit said. A detective later interviewed Peralta but "no new leads" came from the conversation, the affidavit said.
Authorities searched the home and the neighborhood, talking with neighbors and using a cadaver dog, but did not find anything. Blodgett's vehicle was still parked at the home and there were no withdrawals from his bank account, the affidavit says.
Police eventually said the case got cold and was closed. "All leads in reference to this case have been exhausted. This case will be closed pending further leads or information,"
…That was until 15 years later, a shocking confession from a former suspect, Tony Peralta, finally unraveled the mystery of a once-cold case.
Hang tight, as we are about to unravel how a guilt-filled consciousness led to the answers to a case that may otherwise gone unresolved forever

@cameronbarron No, he was trying to confirm this man was the killer and not someone that got paid to confess for someone else. If this man knows the orientation of the body, then he is more likely to be the one who put him there. That's what the questions were for. Every question the cop asked was to establish that this man was the murderer and to see if it was premeditated or not. That's being said, I a'm surprised they didn't ask if anyone else helped him with the chip. That's typically another questions cops and detectives will ask. I'm sure he was asked off scene somewhere.

Oh, he remembers every detail. It took everything in him to just confess without breaking down. He doesn't want to re-live the sounds that man made as he was being stabbed to death with a screwdriver. That's not a slow and easy death. He says he doesn't remember because it's too traumatic for him to even speak about. He wants nothing to do with those memories. They haunt him every day and probably most nights in his dreams. The last thing he wants to do is talk about what he did to that man.

meth induced psychosis could’ve driven him to kill, particularly if their was no reason or argument. And it could explain the why he can’t remember the details, kinda like being too drunk to remember a car accident but I’ve found that meth does the opposite. At the end of a 2 month long meth binge, I had reached that point of phychosis but I remember every detail of that night, mostly because it was the last time I touched the stuff. I remembered how I felt, what the world looked like to me and where my mind went, in all of its dark ugly corners. I believe he remembers every detail but is consciously repressing the memories so he doesn’t have to face the sucidal level of emotional burden for how he did it rather than the fact that he did it in the first place. I think he wanted to do the bare minimum by confessing he did it and accepting the consequences of his actions without fully going all the way. I would think a few months on a therapist coach might get him to place emotionally where he could finally tell the whole story.

A guily conscience can become unbearable. Many people confess, some as late as on their death bed. This man has hope as his confession has freed him, regardless of what he did in the past. Without drugs he is a mild mannered person. Feel sorry for the family of the victim, but they must also feel some relief.

It seems he had a psychotic break when he killed his landlord, and when he gets arrested hes having a PTSD episode where he is feeling guilt and shame but cannot remember the details. Hopefully he can serve his time and be reformed. I still have to watch the full video, not sure on everything, but I do know the pressure landlords can put people under. Thats is obviously no excuse to murder, but on the flip side he does carry a lot of trauma which shows he is not a sociopath. A true killer wouldn't care. Considering he was a meth addict, and got sentenced to 15 years in prison, he will be out in his early 50's. He will have quite the story to tell I'm sure about the dangers of meth. It clearly turned him into a very different person, because when he confessed you could see he felt so unburdened, that the guilt and shame was consuming his entire life. Life is a precious thing. We should never take it for granted.

I think you're overthinking it. Math is a hell of a drug. Wanting more meth will make you do crazy things. Being on meth and not sleeping for days on end will make you remember nothing but the fact you stared in a mirror for 12 straight hours contemplating whether your hair is growing in real time. A person off meth has nothing to do with the person he is on meth.
