@@LDacicBruh, the way you put that made me audibly laugh. The rest of y’all really are out of line though, he seems like a good guy who is taking the time out of his day to being value to people’s lives and y’all are taking the piss. Still funny though… just outta line.
I deliver drywall and steel all day for a living and this rice bucket work is crucial for relieving hand pain. 8-10 hours of awkward gripping followed by 5-10 mins of therapeutic rice bucket work - good deal. Cheers.
I did this with water to cure my wrist tendonitis. It really fills your hand with blood. I never thought of moving up to rice to actual grow the hand. Great video!
It's 10 months I train for armwrestling; Yesterday I got a table and the first thing I did was try a round with my brother. He's a 55 years old carpenter but he don't train anything. Well I could not move him from the center.... and I'm 20 years younger, 10 kg heavier ex-powerlifter. Man..... the advantage you get having strong hands is incredible.
@@1Bottleneckoh yeah for sure. It's a bitch to lean a wrench on stuck bolts with a steady even pressure for an hour while your dad torches the block and giggles. That conditioned work strength is different
This is such a great exercise! I use a similar exercise for my climbing routine. It’s a very healthy exercise to work the tiny muscles down your forearms to your finger tips.
Your hand is smaller when you don’t workout, but genetics play the biggest role Lots of people have big hands, lots of people have small hands. Been that way since way back in human evolution But if you challenge your hands they’ll be stronger and larger-to your point this will make your hands larger-just not massive hands relative to your forearms (unless your genetics do that) There’s never been a time when all men worked out their hands a lot-there are a lot of different jobs even in very small villages This guy’s hands are this large relative to his forearm because that’s his genetics. The workouts grow his musculature more-but they don’t make his bones bigger It’s easy to see in our society. 2 dudes that grow up together, do the same kinds of things and same kind of work. Yet one is 6’5 with extra large and extra rough skin hands and the other is 5’6 with extra small hands
Thanks for the great info Matt! I am gonna to get this going asap. I am a newb and have been concentrating on the real basics for exercises. This will help by ending all my work with this. I hope the training is going well for you. I will be catching your match online.
I used to do this for rock climbing for strength, but also for injury prevention and tendonitis. It's pretty difficult really, especially the negatives. I'm going to have to start again.
There are some people who see a comment like this and then dislike the video just to make it be incorrect so if you want a video to stay on 0 dislikes as long as possible it's best not to leave a comment like this - if you do make this comment understand that it will probably have the effect of making some people dislike the video
Thanks for the video. If I keep the lid on the bucket when not in use, how long before I have to replace the rice? Will it get moldy or rancid any time soon?
I don't arm wrestle but have carpal tunnel, using rubber bands without much effect, just staving off disability by keeping the nerve tunnel open by slightly working out the negatives. This video gives me hope I can truly start to reform my hand. Off to buy some rice.
Thanks for the visual demonstrations. I've been reading about this rice method of training for at least a few years, but text alone never really indicated what motions to use.
I just filled up a bucket of rice and tried this out and its incredible. Did 3 sets of 10 squeezes/extensions and my forearms are burning. Its also a million times better than a little foam stress ball.
Louie Simmons (Westside) spoke about this once, using wet sand instead of rice to strengthen the hand and grip in a bucket. Same concept...probably cheaper too
Ive been doing something like this for about six months. My hands have definitely gotten thicker and stronger. Now i see matt mask is doing something similar and i feel like im onto something!
Same I haven’t got sore at all doing this how about you ? I do this for an hour straight it hurts in the moment but I don’t get sore the day after my forearms ands have definitely grown tho
Is it on the top of your wrist? I have a painful mf in my right wrist and it gives me hell when I do olympic lifts and presses. If this works for you I will definitely try it for me.
Yes. This is very good advice for training the extensors. It's old strongman advice. I am glad you are also familiar with it Matt. Super good advice. Now, Beat that Italian for me. We count on you. Hails from Scandinavia. Greetings/Mikkel.
Damn Matt this is gold, our comunity owes you a lot for sharing your secrets, really appreciate it! Man please Beat Gasparini, he will be REALLY fired up but you are the man when it comes to intensity. You pulled in WAF but work that shit smartly and rip that spagghetio's arm out. Rooting hard for you man!
@@mattmasksricebucket146 There you are...🤣. Special thanks going out to @TheAbysssarian Official# for casting a dark art emoji spell to make this happen.
The reply’s to this comment made me laugh, thanks Matt mask rice bucket and the abyssarian for just taking your day off to produce a chemical reaction inside my bone dome. I appreciate you guys. Real mad lads
that is a good exercise for the joints and tendons of the hands and forearms, I use that but with sand, the sand is finer but heavier, especially if you moisten it a little bit👌
Idk why youtube recommended this, but I'm glad it did. My grip in grappling is getting weak. Damn rona couldn't roll like I did. But this looks useful. Thank you. BTW you're hands look like they belong to a bigger guy lol
Whatever your knuckles hit they will become . If you knock on a piece of steel all day your knuckles will be steel . It takes years but it’s so true . There’s an older monk who has shown this on the history channel .
I thought I was the only one lol my dad used to make me train this as a kid for martial arts. Try straight finger jabs in dryed beans also. Everyone that pulls with me ALWAYS asks what I do for a living lol 😂 very strong hand. Very good feeling at my weight 165-185. I believe you know a friend of mine. (Cj twine) he told me my hand is very strong!
