Yeah, when we get summoned or whenever I summon people they're definitely trying to help but never to this extent. They know they're a team, this is a "solo him" situation we have here.
@@samf.s.7731 but at the same time that just may be how he normally engages bosses, no point in hemhoaring around the bush when your summoned… if the person wants a sense of achievement then they shouldn’t summon in the first place lololol
I'll never forget the first time I summoned someone. It was in Dark Souls 3, I had made it all the way to the soul of cinder, I was stuck for three days, scared I was going to be repeating the week long battle I had with the nameless king, going to work, coming home, fighting him for an hour before giving up, I decided I'd just summon someone and get it over with. As one of my many cinders was used, I saw him. There he was, the greatest summon I've ever seen, Patrick star. He wore no clothes, he had nothing but a pink body, and a very large sword. At first I thought this fight was going to be tough, a long fight that we may not win. But then, Patrick star, in his beautiful, nay, boastful, yet muscular form, he 1v1'd the boss, as I sat as a mere weakling on the sidelines. His fight was glorious, he danced with the Soul of Cinder, and when all was said and done, he rolled away and allowed me to get the final hit in. I had never seen such an act of compassion, dedication, and selflessness from another mortal ever. Thank you, Patrick.
I mean mage has to do the same if you have never used an Azure build it requires a lot of prep but it's hilarious when you pull it off. I managed to 1-shot launch patch Radahn who doesn't have much HP but getting the prep-off without dying was a Hell of a challenge.
@@shauns5278yeah 1.0 radahn was wild, even the cheesy strats required a degree of positioning and moveset RNG "yeah he's got rot, but you still have to survive while it ticks"
Reminds me of that guy waiting to be summoned called "POV you are Chris Rock" and this dude's whole purpose was to slowly walk towards you slap you once bare handed then unsommon himself.
I summoned a guy named "Gearless Joe" to help me fight Melania. He proceeded to run up and punch her to get her attention until I could do enough damage to kill her. I don't think he took a single hit the whole fight and he was only doing like 40 damage per punch. It was hilarious.
Reminds me back when the old hunters dlc dropped in Bloodborne I had a pretty good build and did chalice dungeons for food gems on my weapon and so Ludwig wasn’t such a problem and I used beast blood pellets, so I helped people and was getting a lot of messages saying thank you, but this one guy sent me a party invite and was yelling thank you because he’s been stuck on Ludwig for three days
Man, I feel that. Ludwig was a bastard of a fight for me, and while I wouldn't have wanted the help, its the sort of thing where if I did, i would have been so thankful for anyone who helped me win.
I'll tell you this if you haven't already learned of its power Night Maiden's Mist is absolutely busted for a lot of enemies and bosses if you're able to stay alive and kite them around the clouds. It ignores all enemy resistances so even normally magic resistant or near immune enemies get shredded.
Same fellow mage brother, with enough stamina to dodge and roll for adequate distance then I'm unstoppable. But god forbid if the area is small or the enemy closing in
@@seliamila1005you know I’ve played as a mage the entire time, about level 100 just have the fire giant and what’s next left but I’ve never really upgraded my stamina and never felt the need too. Idk that feels odd, I guess it’d be more noticeable for melee fighters who are more often right on top of the bosses. I only really struggle with particularly aggressive bosses, the kind where there’s not enough time to cast a simple spell. I imagine malekith will be a bitch in that regard
I'll never forget my first summon. summoned a dude named Connor in the siofra aqueduct, me and him hit those gargoyles so fucking hard they basically exploded. It was epic, even if he was doing 99% of the damage. God speed, Connor
@@justsomeguywithamustache5539 azur's comet would like some words. lol. And to laugh at cavemen swinging hunks of metal like they're impressive or something. 😂
As someone who loves helping players kill boss, often time I find that killing the boss asap is the only way to keep the host safe. Some mf out there have a death wish.
I once got summoned to help the same guy kill Morgott 4 times in a row; he died to Morgott switching to his second phase 4 times in a row. People are dumb, and i've come to just assume that if i'm summoned it's because the host can't play for shit and you have to babysit them.
I still will never forget playing Bloodborne, thankfully on like a third or fourth playthrough, summoning for the Cleric Beast beast I was just speed running for a min-max Bloodtinge build and my summon just 1-shot. Decided to just do the rest of the game the hard way.
I mean the whole point is for them to help you to the best of their ability. For a lot of builds "the best of their ability" is to instantly delete the boss from reality.
@@philleshy4822 Yes, but then again that's with your friend, who you can talk to ahead of time. That is not what my comment was directed toward. I was talking about using the basic summon pool, not preplanned grouping. That's obviously a completely different topic.
@@philleshy4822 To be fair, if the OP summoned some random person for his first attempt against this boss then it's his fault for expecting the boss fight to be anything but easy. The summoned guy probably thought that the OP had died a bunch of times and just wanted to get past the boss. Plus, it's literally his job to make sure that the OP doesn't die.
As someone who's being summoned for these fights that's the exact mentality I'm having, in no way am I assuming it's your first time or you want to experience the fight naturally. I'm summoned to delete and get you going to the next fight.
There are two types of hosts: Ones that can actually survive more than 5 seconds, and ones that cannot. This man clearly doesn't want to deal with the latter.
there's are 3 types of phantoms the ones that die on 2 seconds the ones that carry the host and then the last are the ones that return home after you enter or watch you fight the boss
For me it was throwing myself at the Elden Beast 10 times, only to give up, use a summon, and then watch as a Ganondorf Cosplay just ran up and beat it to death with a Fingerprint Stone Shield.
This is legitimately what happened to me after 6 hours of solo grinding the boss's patterns and then deciding to summon just once to see how it changed the fight. Funniest shit ever, honestly.
This is exactly the type of help I want if I ask for help online. Someone who can not only handle themselves, but take a huge load off my shoulders. If I wanted a challenge, I'd do it solo.
Why are you playing the game though? What do you get out of it if you don't get the satisfaction of overcoming all the challenges? Do you just treat it like an interactive film? You just like to explore or something? Bosses are the best part
@@oxsilaBosses in souls games aren't even that hard. You just press roll and R1. Or L2 in Elden Ring's case lmao Just look at an MMO Ultimate raid or Mythic raid. Those ones where you actually have to pay attention to positioning, damage output from both sides, mechanics, debuffs, etc. Meanwhile in Souls games you just press the roll button and take 0 damage every time, and just R1 / L2 the boss to death with zero thinking involved. Trust me, even the average Kaizo Mario level has more challenge than any Souls games, so you aren't accomplishing anything impressive.
If you wanna have a lot of fun: Cosplay and Get Summoned. It's very viable to do now that there's post-character creation character editing you can do!
I'll never forget the the best summon I had. I made my character to be Link from Breath of the Wild. He has a holy sword, a proper shield, a Hero's Hammer, Bow, even a flute weapon. The works. He looked the part with various armors and tunics too. So, late in the game, I'm sending out my summon sign to random players. Who do I end up joining? I kid you not: Zelda. Not only did the character look the part with a dress and long blonde hair, but she also also played a proper faith build and all. So onward went Link and Zelda, through a dungeon to the boss. They worked together very well with her casting and Link tanking agro. And to top it all off, they finished the boss with a perfect cross attack between her spell and Link's overhead jump attack. I legitimately couldn't tell who actually got the last hit, it was that perfect. In the end, Link turned to properly kneel before the princess as she bowed and then waved goodbye to her loyal knight. Yeah, one of my favorite summon moments ever~
I summoned a guy called "I CHEESE MOHG" and in my head I was like "yeah sure buddy" but lo and behold he jumped on top of the Statue of Merika, onto the tombstone, and then over to the adjacent wall, which he used to walk into the arena and then cheese Mohg by killing him since his AI wasn't active.
If you want a good experience with another player play coop with a friend don't just summon a random stranger they'll just think you were struggling with that boss and just kill it most of the time.
Yep. I had a lot of experience playing OG DS, and a buddy of mine wanted to do a playthrough. He mostly only summoned me, and I ran through the game naked so that I wasn't too OP for him. I also let him take the lead and rarely told him any secrets, just some hints here and there.
@@MiraakUnofficialthe health doesn’t triple or double. Your stats get set to their stats. Your damage is just significantly lower than your normal damage. Your weapons get lowered to your friends levels too. It balances you out
@@sadovuato The HP buff bosses get when you summon people has been a thing for a long time before ER (they get a buff to their poise too in ER), the debuff you get when summoned over the hosts level just makes it so people end up thinking that is one or the other when it is in fact both.
Literally summoned the exact same guy. I just stared at him afterwards not only in amazement but also in fear. This is a power man is not meant to wield.
...That's why we become/deserve Elden Lord...... Whole reason we can kill a God is partly because we are one, So of course we should have cool AND strong spells.
The way he was starting to get into it then got immediately covered up completely by the beam was so perfectly comedically timed it's unreal. This was like watching an animated skit about how broken sorcery is.
it can honestly be pretty easy as other builds too, i think the only builds that get REALLY screwed over in this game are pure 100% melee builds (which even that is made easier with bloodhound's step) and bow/crossbow builds, bow/crossbow builds are embarrassingly weak, i don't ever see anybody even try to use them
A glass cannon mage is OP as fuck in a big boss room with lots of space. But in a small tight boss room, with no summoning, and even a few normal enemies, their squishy robes of magic can turn into a bloody mess real quick. I had friends complain about really powerful bosses that have some slow strong attack that can 1 shot them and I'm like, dude quick weak attacks from normal enemies can 1 shot me.
I struggled with Malenia (like everyone probably did) and I kept trying, but I was also having fun. Then I heard about the Let me Solo Her (and I wanted to fight for once with another player, testing the Multiplayer mode). Yeah... Exactly the same thing as in the video happened. A very overpowered mage bursted her and for a whole year, I sort of regret it. But I started a new character now and this time, I will 1v1 her like a true Elden Lord!
man, I've tried to summon so many to help against Greyll, they all run up, try to use rock sling, get one shot, and I'm left with a double HP pissed off dragon
Hilariously, rock sling is really good for fighting dragon enemies, but they definitely seem to not understand that rock sling has some of the best range for spells in the game.
I have a mage character. If it is just me against a boss...I often do not have this. I am about to be running and avoiding one shot death swings while trying to chuck rocks. If I have a decent spirit Ash out, I am yelling for them to get aggro and doing the same. If I am a summon though? Thank you. You are better than mimic and you already start with aggro. I'll just set up the *damage cannon*
I once was bored out of my mind so I reassigned my levels and renamed my Character to “MinecraftCreeper” made him look cursed and the first summon I got was for Radagon I ran at him exploded, Died from the explosion, and dealt and grand total of 854 Damage… I don’t know what they were expecting
Dude, I want to summon ppl like u HAHAHAHA These days i'm just summoning a lot of mages, where's the ppl with meme build or melee. Cant even have fun there :c
Only summon other players when you've failed so many times, even with ashes, that you just wanna move on. Because the truth is, if you can't beat the boss... other players can, and have. By summoning, you're summoning someone whose sole goal is to kill that boss as quickly and safely as possible. Maybe not a comet azur mage, maybe a greatshield poking Rot build stunlock spear user. Maybe a dual wielding seppuku bleed katana against Rennala. Maybe popping Ironjar Steel like it's candy and armoring through Malenia. Maybe anything. The moment you touch someone else's summon sign, you are saying "Big brother, please kill this boss for me." And they did. You're welcome. No shame to anyone who's summoned. I solo'd Malenia in NG, but NG+ I gave up and summoned. I needed big brother help, IDGAF, that bitch is hard.
I've got my ass beaten by Horoah Lux so many times, so when I finally beat him with no spirits or summons, I tried to help other players to kill him, now I've killed him so many times that I remember his entire moveset and helped a lot of players win to him, feels nice man, the revenge.
i didint approve in full with it, i my friends and many people from community who play for fun with normal build wanan help other fight the boss but we didn't do it for them. We do it with them.

I saw who they were fighting, and my first reaction was "Oh no! I haven't fought this guy yet! I don't want to get spoiled on his attack patterns!" I don't think I should have worried.
It was about two weeks ago. I don't remember the player name but funny enough it was my first summon because I didn't know how lol I think you're right about the comet. I was like " oh shit , GANDALF! " I took like 2 steps towards Niall and some huge ball comes past my shoulder and drops him instantly. It was fuckin awesome
I finally did an int playthrough and refused to use moonveil or comet. I've still never used either. Just makes the game boring for me. I'd rather mix in melee and spells if I'm going to make a mage. Keeps me on my toes, but still gives me lots of options on how to fight.
I summoned a mage against Malenia and it was actually really fun. He didn't have any over powerd stuff he just had a spell that shots like 10 light beems and doesn't do much but distracts her while I do most of the damage and it was really cool how light beems appear from behind me while I run towards Malenia and swing around my dual blades while I also dodge her attacks, it felt like actually teamwork because I also had to make sure that Malenia didn't target him as much as possible and even when she did he was dodging everything like ultra instinct Goku and we did like a combo together to finish her off, its was a really nice experience
@@matiasmoreno3562 I already completed the game before I was just looking for a new experience in New Game+ And I found it fun so I just do it here and there Some boss fights do seem to loose what makes them good when your with other players
I remember in dark souls 3, i would farm abyss watchers as a gold summon. The most painful part about it was on my last run before i had enough souls earned to get dex up to 20, the other summon dodge rolled one of the watchers attacks INTO the summoner who was mid estus at like 3 hp left.
Players who don't understand positioning are my biggest pet peeve; people like that who don't pay attention where they are pulling the boss's aggro, people who think platforming is a race and just end up pushing you off a ledge, and people who see you use the mimic veil, decide to use it too and come sit right next to you or won't stay still.
This is why if you don’t want to trivialize a fight you need to decide whether to summon someone with a mage staff on their phantom preview. Some of them are normal, and some have followed in the footsteps of Azur.
This was actually very similar to my first time beating King Allant in Demons Souls way back when. I summoned a guy who had the yellow monk robe on and he absolutely atomized Allant before I could do anything.
Allant was tough. I ended up “cheating” a different way: I just equipped Bramd and poised through every hit. It felt just as bad as using a summon tho tbh
@@bryandownings8055 It lasts 10 seconds, but 10 seconds might as well be an eternity after 80 INT + Terra Magicus, Rennala's Full Moon, and a continuous stream of Comet Azur....
