People do that today still. There are actual dictionary definitions of slaves even in developed 1st world countries like the United States, Canada, UK, France, etc. its not relegated to poor countries…People even do this thing called “dehumanization” which let’s people treat others like things instead of people…it’s all very real and it’s not just something people did in the past
