The vast majority of the 452 miles is replacing existing structures at the border that had been built by previous US administrations. Mexico never paid for the wall. US taxpayers paid for it.

They also need to discontinue the government programs that pay businesses a portion of the salaries of non-citizens. The Feds pay something like 40% of many of these now coming in, such as the meat packers in Springfield. A dirty little program that many don't know about. The companies then let go of their legal citizens, as well as intentionally refuse to hire citizens, so they can get this cheap labor. If they want to keep the program, than it should be solely for citizens in need, not non-citizens.
