I love How humans making unhuman movements can be more scary than ghosts or gore

She’s a brilliant actress. So much emotion. You can truly see her fear. So rare to find in short horror films.

The thing I like the most about this is that there are no jump-scares. No things appearing out of nowhere, no sharp noises. It's pure atmosphere, and that is so rare to see these days.

He leans in and whispers softly in her ear…. “We’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty,”

You know whats so unsettling? That guy looks exactly like one of those serial killer police sketches

major props to the guy, he nailed those unsettling movements, without being over dramatic, so well

This is how you do modern horror. I will always believe that people are scarier than anything else.

No ghosts, no darkness, no blood, yet very creepy. Good job!

The way she walked onto the train and looked around, staring at people for a while, at the same time showing a sort of anxiety... it makes me think that she's the type of person who has social anxiety. The idea of being seen is scarier for her than the idea of seeing others. She watches them, but she can't stand being watched. And that particular anxiety shines through when someone spots her and starts paying too much attention to her... getting close and closer... until she feels as though she's living in her own horror film. It gave me more of an insight on mental trauma than anything supernatural or based on senseless horror. Very interesting!!

I gotta give props to the actress! Her expressions were so spot on! Plus, the fact that her response to what was happening was so quiet made me feel more claustrophobic and helpless - knowing that if I was her, no one was around and I gotta deal with the fact that I’m going to die that night. She killed that role! Bravo!

She perfectly portrayed the feeling of panic. You can see it in her eyes, her body movements.

This made me go cold. Better than most modern day horror movies

The way that as she's trying not to look, we the audience aren't allowed to look either which makes it even more unnerving when she finally gives in and takes another peak. So well done!

This short film focuses on terror more than horror. The feeling that you know theres a threat, but no direct sign of danger. No jumpscares, scary noises. Just pure terror and eeriness, knowing that its there but looking and seeing that its gone. Love it

I'm 4 years late to this gem. Under 5 minutes horror is quite difficult to make. A Phenomenal work and the actress is awesome.

Saw a quick reaction vid on Tik Tok for this and that alone terrified me. The absolute level of discomfort this gave me almost instantly…my blood ran cold. I love all things spooky & scary. This was a different level of actual fear. I found myself instinctively wanting to cover my eyes. Just the small but powerful movements…made such an eerie yet massive impact. Well done. Ya got a girl hella spooked. 🤯😟

This short is almost like playing a game of chicken with yourself. At like 3 minute mark I was ready to turn it off, at the 3:38 mark I was like really, REALLY ready to turn it off but saw there was less than 40 seconds left and I needed to know how it ended and I could physically feel my heart pound. Well done.

This short shows exactly how a negative thought could interfere with someone’s life. The man could represent the “negative thought”.You can see how once she notices the “negative thought” everything else just goes out the window. The more she focuses on it, the more it overtakes her mind until eventually there is no more positive and nothing but a negative fate is sneaking up on her.

The scariest thing for me was the darkening of his face and nose to suggest something not human.

This was a good horror short. Tameka Mortimer (the lead actress) emoted really well, without saying any lines. I liked it.

In my 48 years....this 4 minute short scared me more than any horror movie I’ve ever seen. I actually had to pause at the first glimpse of the guy and wait two days for my son to get home to watch the rest. I can’t even begin to tell you how this is going to haunt me. I’m not easily scared....this is what ruined me. I’ll never get that out of my head.

I had a mini heart attack when he leaned his head forward during the first encounter

No loud music or jump scare noises, you're literally in the moment with her. This is so realisticaly framed, simple, almost mundane, yet so scary BECAUSE of the realism. It's amazing.

When he leaned in the second time was the oh sh** moment for me.

3:20 is extremely unsettling for me; the guys face looks ALMOST normal. There’s a head, glasses, a nose, but you get the impression that he is grinning, grinning in some horrible, sadistic way. Such an amazing short film Edit: Actually zooming into his face? He is grinning, and you can see his eyes, it’s fucking terrifying dear lord it made this so much worse when I rewatched it.

This was a masterful piece of art in the worst possible way. You are a supremely talented filmmaker and you have tonality and richness of depth down to a tee. I will be following your journey enthusiastically, rooting for you the entire way.

This is probably not what this is about but this type of fear perfectly reminds me of the terror of being a woman ona train or in public where you’re completely alone and theres a man being creepy/following you/staring at you. This terror of having nowhere to go, of knowing youre supposed to be safe but you’re not and you know if he were to do something most likely people wouldnt react (or know). Just brilliant it can be interpreted in so many ways!

This is so impressive! The fact that you managed the strike actual anxiety and fear without distorting reality through dramatic editing and loud noises, without a monstrous appearance to the 'monster', so on. Top tier!

The loud and incoherent chatter was my favorite thing about this video. Once the dialogue fades, you instantly know something sinister is about to happen. It worked so well

No jump scares (thank god), no loud music, no over the top acting, bright light... and still (or mostly because of said things) one of the creepiest movies (be it short or full length) I have seen in the last months! Fantastic work all of you! Love the subtle and lifelike acting of all the characters, Tameka nails it. For someone that does not say one word, she succeeds that the viewer (me at least) worries about her more and more throughout the film. And god damn, this "man on the train" is creepy as it gets! Like I said before: fantastic work! Hollywood: watch and learn how it's done right!

What made this scary is the fact that no jumpscare was forced and were still left with questions, Top tier.

This perfectly captures the sensation of there being someone who you feel is a threat that you need to keep an eye on, but that you are scared to look at for fear of them engaging with you as a result.

I feel like this represents the amount of sa and creeps women have experienced on trains or any public places in general.

There's no blood, no ghosts, no explanations, no jumpscares, no script (only background chatter), and yet this is pure nightmare fuel

Okay, this was freaking awesome. I mean this took me to a new level of fear. I am thinking this man is a demon or something from the supernatural world. The train car was actually empty but this thing in the form of a man lured her into a false security, believing she was not alone and thus she would get comfortable and stay on the train. Right before her eyes the people were gone, because they never were there. There are so many possibilities that could have happened to her, wow. I am going to watch this way more than once. This is better than most full length horror movies. Amazing, all round great job. Well, this is my take on the film. You should win award for this.

The lesson here. Never over work yourself at a shitty job that results in you falling asleep on no damn train. You might end up coming face to face with your nightmares.

Love that small bit of establishing that the door next to her is locked. Gives it a more claustrophobic feel and gives her nowhere to run.

What i love about this short film is that its just 4 minutes long yet, in that short period it instantly gave me this eerie, unsettling feeling. Not like many horror movies where they just throw objects in to be 'scary', this short film alone made me scared to live alone

Everyone that knows me personally knows I do NOT get scared easily. I can watch any type of horror film and simply laugh it off due to its predictable nature. But if there’s a few things I do fear, it’s complete silence, creatures peeking around corners at you, or faces you can’t make out details on. This had a combination of all three. Not to mention the two lunges he did at the beginning when she kept peeking around the seats at him. THAT set off my fight or flight. I give you a round of applause because you managed to stir up fear in me which doesn’t happen often. Aug, 9, 2024 Edit: 2 years later and I'm still amazed by this masterpiece.

The leaning forward is what got me, I am terrified of things running at me! 😂 In person or on a show, I cannot handle it!! So I made my husband watch it first 🤣 this was very good!! Made me feel uneasy

My heart was gradually sinking each time he moved. It got fully SENT at the end. Wish more horror movies were like this. This is a masterpiece

I think whats so scary about this is how somebody can just do this to you, at any time a person can just start fucking stalking and creeping closer to you with you having no idea where they are but you just know they are there

The scariest shots for me are the ones where tons of tension has been built of before hand and then the camera forces us to slowly look at whatever it that the character hasn’t been wanting to look at. No jump scare. No nothing. Just feeling completely vulnerable and helpless. Bravo 👏
