This is based on a true story. There's a new movie also like this one entirely based on a true story of Tim Ballard called "Sound of freedom". Most popular movie in america with no advertisements, commercials, or anything. Hollywood is trying to hide the truth.
This was one of those movies that when I watched it the first time, I told myself I would probably never watch it again. Not at all because I thought it was bad, but because it was so moving, gut-wrenching, real-to-life, etc. I can watch others react to it, but just barely. Movies like this are not remembered too much and when reactors do react to them, I can't help but thank everyone involved for not letting these movies die off in obscurity. Great job on the reaction and can't wait for more.
I remember going see this movie by myself at the cinema back in 03. When it was over i sat in my car in the parking lot for about 10 minutes before i left...just trying to collect myself. Creasy's journey put me through it
@@razorfett147 Crazy how a movie can make such an impact. Unfortunately, there are a lot of movies that have done the same thing to me but if I see a reactor watch them, I'll give theirs a look. Some include: Traffic, Sicario, Bowling for Columbine, etc.
"In the church, they say to forgive." "Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting." Fun Fact: Denzel Washington was so impressed with Dakota Fanning's acting that he'd watch her and forget he was in the scene. Dangerous Location Fact: Mexico City police told Tony Scott that his crew was targeted for kidnapping themselves. Several crew members were robbed at gunpoint. Most cast had bodyguards. Historical Fact: Creasy's quote about arranging a meeting between the kidnappers and God is similar to a quote incorrectly attributed to Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. It is not clear whose work the original quote is, which goes: "It's God's responsibility to judge Osama bin Laden. It is our responsibility to arrange the meeting."
My all time favorite movie. First R rated movie my parents knowingly let me watch. The trailer for this movie has to be one of the best it had me begging to see this movie for months before it came out.
I absolutely love this movie!!! And as a child actor, Dakota Fanning has been in movies with some heavy hitters…….Denzel, Robert DeNiro, Tom Cruise, Kurt Russell. She was an amazing child actor.
she is so smart because she goes to a private school with some of the best teachers. in mexico private schools give their students an extremely well education, way better than a lot of schools in the USA
I LOVE this movie. One of my all time favorites. And Dakota, & Denzel's best performances IMO. Rodha & Marc were great too. And I love Sister Maria. Such a lovely women. She had a special effect on Creasy too. Convicting him with kindness & love. Provoking deep, penetrating, thought provoking, questions. Reminded him of his worth & purpose. And that Redemption was still possible.
I absolutely love this movie I own it Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actors of all time. Also the little girl that played in this movie I've never seen a better child actor she was so confident in her role so professional
The only person i loved, my grandma died in 2004 same year as this movie, and i saw this movie same year a few months after she passed, my grandma use to sing the song Blue Bayou that was played in this movie and I have never heard in any other movie. I thought wow 😢At that time i felt her, I hust remember that everytime i see this movie Love this movie, and Denzel ❤ Denzel is amazing in this Miss you Mom, see you on the Blue Bayou
The movie is on cable now, I have seen it about 40 times. lol I love the relationship between Dakota and Denzel in the movie. Started out business as usual, "you're being paid to protect me" to really nice. Lots of stuff happens in the middle. But it's a really good movie if you give it a chance.
I've seen this movie probably 100 times (its one of my fav Denzel movies) and never actually cried but for some reason watching your reaction made me tear up. Hearing you say that he has no problem dying for her just hit me for some reason.
This was a remake of an 1987 film. Originally planned as Tony Scott's next film after Top Gun. But he ended up working on Beverly Hills Cop 2. The original wasn't too bad. But it was much different in it's approach and Creasy was played by Scott Glenn who co-starred with Denzel in Training Day. All in all, it's one of the late Tony Scott's finest.
@@MrVvulf Yeah, I like the 80's feel of the original movie but sadly not very many people know it exists and it was completely forgotten after it came out back in the day, I didn't even hear about it until after I saw the Denzel movie. The blu ray looks and sounds good though.
My fave actor, in one of my top 3 fave movies, reacted to by one of my top 5 fave youtube movie reactors (other 4 are movies with mary, jen murray, it's mr video and awesome us movies). This was great, tysm!
Some Denzel Washington movies that i recommend Malcolm X (1995) Philadelphia (1993) Fences (2016) Glory (1989) The Hurricane (1999) Training Day (2001) Inside Man (2006) And a Tony Scott movie i highly recommend is True Romance (1993) (written by Quentin Tarantino)
Every single one of these film are phenomenal . Except " Training Day " lol . I think that film was overhyped and he damn sure should've won an Oscar for " Malcolm X " over that . Great list though 😳
Strobe cuts, sepia tone, and Denzel. Hallmarks of Tony Scott 2000's era. I think Domino is the only post Man On Fire movie Tony directs without Denzel.
The Equalizer 1 and 2, John Q, The Book of Eli, 2 Guns, an American Gangster ,Inside Man, Remember the Titans, Training Day, The Bone Collector, Fallen are just a few of my favorite Denzel Washington movies there are so many more great movies that he's in.
This actually IS based on a true story , John Creasey is a Legend shrouded in mystery with a career from US Special Forces to CIA, DEA, counter intelligence etc but saved a girl that changed his life and she today is healthy and well. Awesome Denzel movie and one he picked specifically becasue it’s a true story and the case it dictates. Pita reminds me of my youngest daughter , this movie always makes me miss her like crazy when not around.
Incorrect - John Creasy is a fictional character and the movie is based on the book by Phillip Nicholson, who wrote under pseudonym of AJ QUINNELL, Man on Fire, published in 1980. The book was inspired by real- life events. There is another, 1984 version of this movie with Scott Glenn .
My favorite Denzel movie, by far. Why it's not done by many reactor's is beyond me. Thank you, man, for such a heartfelt reaction. I agree, that the ending is bittersweet. To use a quote from the film "Sin City". "An old man dies, and a young girl lives.". You should check one of the two "Sin City" movies out. Again, great reaction.
While I absolutely love this movie, there is one part that really baffles me. The part where The Voice makes the deal of Creasy's life for Pita's life. Why would he make that deal? Creasy has The Voice's pregnant wife and his brother. How is that not the bargaining chip? If I was Creasy, I would tell him....."You give me Pita, and I won't kill your wife and unborn child or your brother. Let's see how important family really is to you."
@@user-tf2wd1eh3g Perhaps your right. He's also been wanting to die for some time, and he also knew that the Voice would be getting a bum deal anyways, being that he would die right after the trade. I'm just looking at it from a logical standpoint, in reality the Voice wouldn't have asked for that trade, knowing his wife and unborn child and brother were in Creasy's possession. The Voice is always talking about the importance of family. There's no way he doesn't bargain for his family first.
I went to a buds house to get some things and when I walked in, this movie was playing at the part where the charger goes in your rectum lol. Crimson Tide a good one as well
Hiya Popcorn!! Great movie, but we all know Denzel RULES!! :) Wish more were like him, but there are very few people nowadays I would call an "actor". It's more "celebrity" than acting. Denzel is the best. Very much enjoyed this. Thank You! 🍿🍿🍿
True story they wrote a book about it and it was the John Creasy character and another guy. But imagine this movie if Denzel would have been full speed. The demand left with still bleeding bullet wounds from a hospital start whooping ass. Yeah I love this movie
The bullet he puts in the gun for Samuel is the one that failed to fire when he tried to kill himself in the beginning. In firing for Samuel, the bullet told the truth.
Denzel can't to bad film. Even rest the film would be medicore, Denzel will elevate the film good just his presence and performance. Denzel has so many under arated films like John Q, The Insider etc that reactors don't do. Thank you for doing this. This is one of my fave films!
