Man or Beast? Metal Vocal Challenge: Lorna Shore's Will Ramos

You've heard a deathcore vocalist do a pig squeal over blast-beats, but have you actually ever heard a real pig squeal over blast beats? Would you be able to spot the difference? That's the challenge we posed to Lorna Shore vocalist Will Ramos - one of the most animalistic, nightmarishly fiendish frontmen in extreme music - in a game we call "Man or Beast?" Can this deathcore expert identify whether the vocal he's hearing is a goregrind screamer or an angry grizzly bear? A Dying Fetus breakdown or a distressed camel?

This is common for almost every decent metal musician. They’re so misjudged by non metal heads. They have an outlet for their emotional intensity, most common people don’t, which makes them the most unthreatening people in the world despite their image. Big softies IRL.

It happens a lot more often than you think. I've met so many cool and chill people at metal shows. One of my favorite things (at least where I live) is that we all go nuts in the moshpit, but when the song is over, the people in the pit will check on each other to see if there were no serious injuries; and if there is "Hey, I gotta go, I'm taking this guy to the hospital, I did (injury) in the pit"

My sister worked at a venue and I got to meet some metal artists and they were usually super nice. Honestly rappers and pop stars were some of the worst. Not saying every rapper is a dick, I like both genres so I’m not trying to favor one they were just a lot more rude in comparison.

@@5Demona5 100% truth. I'm a former gigging/touring metal musician who has played MANY different genres, and metal musicians/fans are the most gracious by far. In fact, I'd put the average metal fan ahead of any other genre fan in terms of kindness for others. It's hilarious that metal has this stigma of being a hard, angry sound, but those involved are mostly the exact opposite in terms of personality.
