I need to get the cabin area cleaned up and I need to get my wood storage area ready. There's lots to do and lots of great food to eat.

This new format it working for me Jay. Your hard work ethic is overpowering the ever diminishing lack of experience that’s for sure. I see a confidence emerging in your attitude and an increasing enthusiasm for getting ‘er done. I will pay you the compliment I got once from an old guy , that I’ve always cherished…”You would have made a good farmer”!

Im so happy this channel has sponsors now, not because I like hearing ads, but because it means Jay you get more income, which allows the channel to grow and continue, which I do wish for. Something small (but not too small) to throw into your gear on a future trip: A good, strong magnet. Clearing nails out of rubbish and burn piles will be much easier, and you'll get the ones you aren't seeing... Another "out in left field" idea: Find a way to rig a couple outboard wheels on the boat, that could be dropped down and locked in place to roll over those shallow spots. Not sure if that's doable, but thought I'd throw it out there for you to think about.
@jaylegere

Thanks for the ideas Randy

There's another channel from Canada's west coast - Destination Adventure - he (Dustin) has a dinghy with those kind of wheels attached to the back so he can hand launch it and roll it around - I was thinking they would be perfect on Jay's aluminum boat for the creek!

If you ran the generator first the oils viscosity would reduce thus enabling it to flow through the funnel slightly easier. Also if you cut the bottom off the funnel it would leave a larger hole for the oil to flow through.. greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪

You could hear the oil burping in the funnel and see it surging, the air was not escaping from the bottle through the neck.
@dougkaylor2528
@dougkaylor2528 20 дней назад
Jay you need to let the container the oil was going into, breathe a little bit, raise the funnel up a bit , put a gap between the funnel and the mouth of the container, you can see the air trying to purge itself thru the oil in the filter. give the air someplace to escape.

Hold the funnel just above the container you’re using to put the oil in. This will help displace the air inside the container and let the oil flow freely.

I think, "fire watcher" was the recommendation. I love watching your fires in the stove that your father-in-law? ( not sure ) Assembled for you. I never got to live that life. Jay, great video…always enjoy your content very much and looking forward to the winter months where you always seem to have a great time. Regarding the nails all over the property, you can purchase very powerful rare earth magnets (think magnet fishing) that will find all (or most) of those little hard to see nails so you and your dog don’t find them later. I had my roof done this year and that was the last step of cleanup, big powerful magnet walked all over the property to find the nails that were strewn about during the tear-off. Cheers!

Hello Jay ! I you would like to have square cuts on your narrow pieces of plywood or boards. Just use the edge of your little square. Place it against front of your piece of wood and use 90 or 45 to guide the shoe of your circular saw. ( I think it"s great that you enjoy all your meals, and truly love food.)

You should build a small rock barrier/dam at one end of that creek. It would keep it flooded enough to float the boat all the time, then you just need a small ramp to get over it.

So here in NC, USA it's still pretty warm/ hot. It's been a cooler later summer, but it was blistering hot in June. It's like summer went one month early and now it's creeping toward fall. We still got a ways to go. I always wonder how far north or where abouts you are. Like within a 50-100 mile radius of what populated place. I grew up in Northern NY very close to Canada. I went over the 1000 Island bridge at least 3 times before I stepped foot in another United State. That was Vermont. I was 16. Little did I know then I would drive from coast to coast, walk into Mexico through border crossings 2x's and see the Bahamas. Still, Canada is a place I hope to visit one day again. I love the wild area you are in. Looks very peaceful. Unspoiled by man. Just a piece of heaven on earth. Also, I like how you cook out there. Lots of calories and no explanations why you are eating big. You work hard and cook like a lumberjack. Those steaks out of the frying pan....oh yeah....that's the closest thing to doing anything sexy online you do! Haha!!!

Another option I’ve seen is to ratchet strap wheels or even a trailer to the bottom of the boat permanently when the water level is low for that creek, Then Drive your boat with the trailer attached. Not as silly as it sounds.

For next summer, getting through the creek ,you could use your power generator power oack ,set up a electric winch on the bow of the boat ,attach an anchor to the line and the difficult parts of the creek ,winch your boat through,yes it will be in stages . Might save your energy and keep yourself fresh for the day ahead .
