Tiffany Mayer I think that is what his problem was... he knew he had everything handed to him and he did not like that remember he said he was independent. He did not like the fact that everything was given to him so he hated his parents for that which is stupid that's why I always say be humble when sometimes you can't afford something for your kids it's okay it makes them cherish everything you give to them with sacrifice that's what I love about my kids
i don’t have sympathy for bart but i do have sympathy for the father because if bart dies the dad looses his whole family the thing he worked hard to make us all lost and he is all alone

Sorry but all I can think of is his brother who was robbed of his life, future memories to be made, future family. His mother never able to take care of her family, friends, be a grandmother. Everyone that was robbed of these two slain people being in their lives. I have zero pity for Bart, and the only need to forgive is purely to heal your own heart.
Future family? Some of us don't believe in marriage or having kids. You don't know if he would have ever married ! You're just assuming ! Becoming a grandparent is the last step before death anyway.

Well I will tell you that in the beginning yes God to help him forgive who it was that did such a thing.. and the Lord did he took away his revenge and put in heart of forgiveness the Lord is the one that can truly forgive I know that for sure and if we ask him he will replace our heart for a heart like his.. I know this to be true as I had to forgive someone who had a part in my mother's murder and I know it was the Lord .

I feel really bad for the father. His wife and son are dead. The other son is the killer. So that means the father has no one to call his beloved. So sad
After watching all the parts to this, it was very touching. Within 40 min of Bart's execution, he was granted clemency. His father spent years fighting to spare his son's life even after he tried to take his. It was to Bart's best luck that his father survived.
Why, what difference does it make sparing his life from execution? So now he can just sit all those years in a cell doing almost nothing. It's not like he isn't going to die some day. It's not like being spared from having an accident. You can live your whole life without having a car accident, but you can't live your whole life without dying. So, I don't see why anyone would feel the need to spare the inevitable.
It's not really punishment though...because you're let out of your misery. It would be better to live in prison knowing what you did. I think that's the best punishment.
iheartunibrows Not saying I agree with an eye for an eye type punishment, but the sad reality is that most of these psychos don't have any empathy and so don't suffer with guilt they way a normal person would. Also you'd be surprised how nice many prisons are. But most of the time life in prison is better financially for the state. In my sociology class in college, I learned that execution actually ends up costing nearly twice as much a life in prison, due to the various appeals the convicted person makes that need to be paid for, his time in jail that needs to be paid for, and then the actual lethal drugs as well.
I cant believe i found this! I actually went to college with this guy. He actually took me out to lunch to get me to agree to help him break into homes in Huntsville.
While he was being loved by his family and having great love and support while growing up. I was locked in a room with my sister for days while my mom was gone smoking crack. And dad gone not giving a shit about where i was. Smh.. Just dont realize how good you had it until its gone. I never got a chance for my parents to love and support me. To me it seems like if this guy is asking for mercy it should be granted. No one lost more in this than he did and if he has chosen to forgive his son and not have the last member of his family put to death I feel like that should be respected.
honestly its tragic for the father whos the victim of this crime to have to go through his last surviving son dying. No matter how much of a monster he is thats still going to be traumatizing and horrible for the father to lose his son who he raised from birth. The courts are supposed to take into account what the victim wants during sentencing and how the sentence will effect the victim and I honestly think its heartless that they would put the son to death knowing that its only going to furthur harm the victim whos already been through hell.
I hope this poor man finds happiness somewhere else. He can give all that love to someone who deserves. So many children would see it a a heaven, and that wrecked shit destroyed it
I don’t understand how you can forgive someone who slaughtered your entire family. Your family will never have the opportunity to choose forgiveness, why should you choose it for them and defend their killer?

I believe the death sentence is too good for him. My idea of punishment for people like this is making them sit in a dark room for the rest of their life. Making them go insane and wishing they had the death penalty. Zero contact with anyone forever.
