Because it is a public auction and the stipulation in the will had to be announced to inform everyone why the auction was closed and because the guy wanted to rub people's noses in the fact that art's worth in is the person who looks at it.

I thought that was Peter Jurasik! I've been rewatching through B5 with my dad, it's his first time watching the show. We just got to the episode with Kosh's death, the next two are Commander Sinclair's return in the "War Without End" episodes 🙂
I have no idea what this movie is, but I did a little reading after seeing this short. What a beautiful scene. Warhol and all those other “artists” can kiss this guys ass. He had his favorite painting that everyone scoffed at, that he held more dear than anything in life. I would do something like this if I was rich too lol. This scene moved me. And I really don’t know why.
The movie is called “the longest ride” it’s about a bull rider who falls in love with a girl who likes art. On their first date they come across the owner of this art collection who was in a car crash. She visits him in the hospital and reads old letters he saved to his wife Ruth who loved art.
@@corning1 long long story but the man and his wife Ruth wanted to get married but the man got drafted for WW2, whole overseas he got shot and somehow his injury meant he wouldn’t be able to have kids. Ruth always talked about having a family but they were unable due to the injury. She became a teacher for an elementary school and there was a boy in her class that was neglected by his family and she would take him to her house after school to tutor him and he would ask about the paintings. He ended up becoming the son they never had as a boy until his parents took him away. She would always tell him that he could be whatever he wanted when he grows up. That little boy went on to be a teacher as well and that boy painted the portrait and of Ruth. Somehow the boy died after growing up and his wife brought the paining of Ruth and said it meant a lot to him and the wife told the old ban that they boy wanted him to have it. And on the back of the painting it said “Mrs Ruth was the first person to tell me I could be whatever I want.” And since Ruth had passed away of old age this painting reminded the old man of Ruth and so it had tons of sentimental value.

it was like, the women, who was desperate to buy, but wanted to save on, but her lover saw her desire, and so bought it (indirectly for her). The owner/grandpa whose wife had the entire collection had said the desperate girl back that it was the most imp potrait for him, so the girl was desperate. and the grandpa also had said that if he truly loves, he will come to the auction, or something like that.. one of the best movies I have watched.. just awesome..(this is not even the entire thing tho.. you need to watch the story to know)❤️
