@@loffomonkey7942 honestly for me it was truly boring compared to the rest of the anime, there was no tension being build up, but thats my opinion ofcourse
Thank you for the comment, I actually disagree a bit with what you said about gon being hypocritical, I believe thats naivety, gon is naive, and i think thats why he is showen to be so simple minded, he doesn’t measure things by being good and evil but by if he can get something out of it or can befriend that specific person. Thats why he had no problem being frineds with kil and thats why in the greed island had no problem with the scissors guy, the way that he hated the phantom troupe and the ants I believe is because they lacked humanity and he couldn’t relate to them AKA couldn’t befriend them thats why for him they were evil
here i will rant about it too: (spoilers ahead of course) i love gon's character. i think he is extremely well written, and he portrays hypocrisy very well. he always is happy and friendly, and wants to do the right thing, and adamantly opposes the evil in the world. for example, in yorknew arc when he is arm wrestling nobunaga, he says something along the lines of "how can you kill people who have nothing to do with you and feel nothing?" but if we skip to later in the series in chimera ant arc, he is consumed by his rage and says he will do that exact thing. he says that if pitou speaks out of line once more, he will kill komugi. he also is best friends with someone who used to be an assassin/murderer. gon is always surrounded by people dying and pretends to care, but never really does much about it. but then we see when kite dies, he goes crazy. it is truly genius how togashi wrote gon to be a flawed but amazing character, and his story is tragic.
