Yes! It’s very zen for sure. It’s like he taps out of the chaos of human emotion and taps into the calming energy of the planet. It’s one of the many beautiful moments in this film.

It's pretty normal in human conversation to ask questions relevant to another person's statement. Like "I grew up next to Patrick Ewing!" could easily result in a response of "Oh no way that's cool beans, where did you grow up?" An example of an unnecessary question would be overly private information like "what was she in rehab for?" Or "what were some child hood traumatic events she discussed during group therapy?" I hope this helped you get a better feel for how discussions work and some differences between appropriate and less appropriate questions when continuing conversations. When you are unsure, you can always ask yourself if antagonizing and criticizing strangers for their questions will achieve anything positive or if you're better off just moving along until you encounter a situation you're less uncertain about. If find that this type of situation doesn't actually come up and you always want to just antagonize people for no reason, you can always seek out more professional help such as life coaches or self improvement books, or even a therapist. 😃👍

Powder has a more ambiguous ending whereas he could have either died or transcended. One could almost even see Phenomenon as a sequel to Powder, as if his spirit transferred along with his abilities.

There wasn't any lightning. It was just a light that appeared in the sky either from a hallucination from the tumor or something unknown.

Nice thought, but he did not have time enough to develop all his ideas, only to write them down. Also, despite his genius, he was limited as to resources and startup capital. It costs a great deal of money to initially develop such innovations. Just look at how much capital is required by research and development departments in major corporations. Perhaps if he had lived longer, he could have accomplished much more.
