For a full in-depth report of our Man V Horse experience head over to the blog: bethendurance.com/2023/06/22/man-v-horse-2023/ Thanks for watching, Beth
I think I had tears falling from start to finish of this video. SO happy for you, Whiz, the crews and ALL of the competitors (on 2 and four legs). What an amazing adventure and memory. GO BETH! GO TISSY! You two are unstoppable.
What brave horses (and riders) through the crowded streets at the beginning, past the excavator, running past humans on narrow trails, over rocky terrain, past clapping crowds....truly wonderful! What a great event, super crew, and such an amazing horse, Beth. (Kate did fantastic, as well!!) Congrats! ~Holly
Great film and brilliant to watch and recognise all the different areas and terrain. I ran the whole route this year (first time) and it was so warm. Well done.
Yaaaaas!!!! Ok, now that I've watched it, WOW!!! I won't give away the end, but i teared up at the beginning, seeing you and Tissy behind the pace car, going through town, representing!! Then the end, feeling your pride in her! As far as I'm concerned, this type of finishes are tied, since you've ridden together so long! As an ultra runner and a hopeful endurance rider, these Man v Horse races excite me so much... i only know of 3 left in the world, 2 in the states, and i want to run and ride them all!! Congrats to you and your amazing crew on an incredible job, but especially to Tissy The Wonderhorse!!!
Yesss, do it! Tissy could sweep the lot as her retirement performance! 😂 I'm so glad they're becoming a thing again! I was afraid that in today's liability- ruled world, they'd disappear completely.
Congrats!!!! What an awesome feeling that is, especially on Tissy! She is a once in a lifetime horse. (I hope she talks to Estrid about how fantastic she will be too.)
25!!! Tissy is amazing! She’s the OG 🎉 Have followed your channel for a couple of years and seen the ups and downs with injuries and rehab of the other ponies. Tissy is living proof you do everything right in their care and conditioning. Well done Beth, loved this video.
Outstanding to watch and genuinely has tears in my eye watching the excitement and achievement of you and the wonderful Tizzy... Oh to be blessed with a pony of a life time like that and to share in such a unique and challenging event... Well done thanks for sharing the journey the last few months
exciting vlog! so interesting! I was on the edge of my seat - the editing was fab.. Tizzy is a star as are you and your family is so pro! well done! to you and your friend Kate!
Epic, so so enjoyed watching your video. Definitely the right decision to get behind the pace car at the start. Watching your video brought back fond memories of doing MvH a few times. Told you , you would enjoy it. WE DONE🎉🎉🎉
I think I cried my whole way through that. I felt every single emotion (the same happy nervous excited emotions when I took my horse Royal Windsor this year after a tendon tear back in 2021). Huge huge congratulations!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I didn’t realise Tissy was 25! 😢 The ‘oldies’ are the best (Jack’s 22). I am so happy for you ❤
They used my full name. - Come on, whizzlebutt. I just love the two of you together! You are such a dream team and I am so, so, so happy for you that you got to do this race as you had hoped. P.S.: Tissy looked very happy until you started talking about her retirement. ;)
That was totally bonkers!!! Well done to everyone, and how good were the horses not spooking at the clapping and the runners? My horse would have fainted!! ❤❤
What an awesome ride! Is that the Toklat Coolback Short Endurance Contour? I'm looking to get a Toklat pad for my GP saddle and this one fits so nicely with your saddle!
Humans have no chance. In 44 years of the race only 4 humans have won, the horses carry a rider weighing more than 15% of their body weight and they also have the time of the vet checks added to their total time. Lets make it fair, make humans carry some extra weight and let them rest for the same amount of time the horses are not running during vet checks but don't stop the clock for them as it is done for horses.
It’s a pretty short race, if it was much longer it would be a different story, It’s pretty telling the horses need vet checks but there are no doctors checking the humans.
