Cucurbit downy mildew can attack all crops that are part of the cucurbitaceae family, but especially cucumbers and melons.
This disease is caused by a pathogen called Pseudoperonospora cubensis, which was discovered in the middle of the last century in Cuba. Now the disease is frequently encountered on cucumbers, melons, watermelons, pumpkins, being particularly damaging to crops in protected areas.
In Europe it spread at the beginning of this century, and in Romania it was reported in 1928 in the south of the country.
In this video we will talk about the signs of the attack, the conditions in which the disease develops, and how we can protect our crops against it, and what we must do if the disease has already appeared.
