@@cherealice this might be super late of a reply lol! but I think her goal was really to hear his voice. I'm no japanese fluent speaker, but I'm pretty sure "uta" means voice? not sure if there's any homonyms tho! but still, I believe there was no malice in her laugh too ;)
I went to double check since I think multiple people were speaking- not sure but it was hard to try and separate in my brain. I'm pretty sure she did say 'uta' or 'utau' but those translate as 'song' or 'sing' which is a different word than what 'speak' translates into. I'm guessing she's just innocently asking about what Mana does in MALICE MIZER
judging by how Mana-sama just reacted as a whole, he was more than likely forced to. from an autistic perspective, i can totally understand being uncomfortable when someone makes you speak when you’re nonverbal

He spoke in Paris back in 2004 at the Japan Expo, but I could hardly hear a thing because as soon as he approached the mic the fans started screaming their lungs out. I read later that what he had said "Je vous aime". I wish I would have heard it because his voice is lovely ;__;
I'm so glad I went to see Masakazu Katsura and get a signed lithography by him instead of going to see Mana (they were doing their stuff at the same time), I couldn't have handled those screaming fans.

I could understand in spite of the disrespectull ear-killer screeching coming both from hysteric fangirls and mature men (yup there was a noisy bunch of'em a few rows in front of me). disrespectfull as it has been clearly asked to people of the audience not to be too loud/ show off too much energy as it might've made Mana too uncomfortable / nervous to stay.... come to think of it, I actually am still surprised that he did stay as of course, people didn't give a fuck to what was asked before he appeared on stage. I suppose that he was in a great mood and happy enough to be there to feel able to stay 'til the end of the conference. Now.... why did I even mention all that. you've been there it seems. sharing old memories, I guess. :p
@@NocturneReflet I'm still pissed off that I missed it. I was there, but they wouldn't let me in for whatever reason. I think it was because I was carrying my digital camera with me. Never mind, I thought. I'll have him sign the Moi Dix Mois CDs and DVD I had with me. But no, siree. The staff asked to see my red coupon before being allowed to meet Mana. "What red coupon?" I asked. Well, turns out you had to buy M+M merchandise at Japan Expo on Friday, that is 2 days before the event with Mana. Of course, this had never been mentionned by the organizers. No information whatsoever. Nothing, zilch, nada! Just "meet-and-greet + autograph signing with Mana on Sunday afternoon", and that's it. Total lack of communication on their part. Anyway, they refused to let me in because guess what, I had purchased my *official* CDs & DVD on cdjapan! I usually hate conventions, and the only reason I went to J.E that year was to meet Mana. In vain! I was not the only one in that situation. Dozens of fans from the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, etc. had come as well to see Mana and were not allowed to meet him because they didn't know they _had_ to be there on Friday to buy the French edition of M+M merchandise in order to get that bloody red coupon, the only thing Mana would sign (as per his manager's request, I was told). Fortunately, I had more luck with Yoshiki from X-Japan.
I see. I didn't want to go to the signing thing, queuing once for 1h40 at the entrance of the convo, then for about two hours before the conference was allready way more than enough. But now I do better understand the reason I saw a hecatomb composed mostly of lolitas crying their hearts off while being close to a guenine state of shock.
In the first clip, he says ギターのマナです (gitā no Mana desu)(literally “I’m Mana of guitar”) and the woman repeats ギターのマナさん (gitā no Manasan)(literally “Mana-san of guitar...”) This is just literal Japanese grammar and can be translated to English more naturally-sounding as: “I’m Mana, on guitar.” “Mana-san on guitar...”

I think it's cuz he wants to be different from others. In a journal(that some fangirls made), it said that he liked to be different and tells you all sorts of things he's done to make himself differnt.

In the old days women werent allowed to act in plays, so usually a man would play a female role and it got transfered to their music and it has managed to stay until present time. Keep in mind that japanese people dont view men dressing as women as europeans do. I hope the info was helpful! ^-^
