Dr. Thangam Venkatesan, MD is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio, USA) and is the director of the section of Neurogastroenterology and Motility. The primary focus of her clinical and scientific work is in cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS) and the role of cannabis in vomiting disorders. She has published extensively in this field and is the lead author on the first-ever guidelines on the management of CVS (Guidelines- management of CVS). She has also published on CHS and cannabis use in CVS. She is involved in multiple key clinical trials and studies in CVS. One of her goals is to elucidate the pathophysiology of CVS, understand the adverse and beneficial effects of cannabis use in this patient population, and develop better therapies for these debilitating disorders
