In this comprehensive video, we do a complete mega-comparison of Hyper-V virtual switches. We compare and configure the four most common foundational vSwitches -- default, private, internal, and external.
In addition to creating and configuring each switch, we deploy each one in a full virtualized environment to see how they work and interact with other virtual machines, the host environment, the local area network, as well as the Internet. We also spend time analyzing the characteristics and concepts behind each switch to give you a full understanding of each switch's functionality.

I'm in a community college using a text book or ebook that assigns labs, reading assignments and short quizes that does the grading for my teacher, whom by the way doesn' speak english very well. I was on the topic of setting up a vertual switch in my book and came across the lab on making vitrual switches after that lab I was ready to quit the course, but thanks to you I now have the consept. Thank you so so much for putting this together - I bought 2 other laptops with windows pro I will practice what you have taught on you tube - thank you so much.

Very cool! That was very helpful. Solid teaching skills. Justin getting into hyperV and needed a quick and easy explanation of the different switch types. Working in setting up a little home lab for the particular Call Center Management product I work on that can use multiple windows servers and SQL servers. The external switch will make some software copies super easy from the home lab NAS. I really like how easy it is to switch between the switches on the fly as well since I use Win10 machines for customer VPN connection. HyperV is pretty slick. The fact that I'm running on a couple of Dell Laptops with 32gb mem each and 2019 server is pretty responsive... I'm no VM power user..... That's typically the customers headache...lol. But, for what I'm doing it's looking to be pretty handy.
